WPLG 1981 Promo:

1993 WSB and WXIA: At 6:30, WXIA close with "Hello News". Did WXIA really use cuts of "Hello News" through 1993??? The NMSA says it ended in 1990.

On that KTSP 1990 clip, that theme is probably part of the same package as the "NightCast" theme. It would be nice to find a full 6 or 11pm open from 1989-92.

I just love these vintage WPLG opens. The theme is interesting, in that it sounds similar to some of the "Tuesday C" bumpers that were used, but doesn't quite have the same signature.

WPLG mid '70s promos and opens. This was when Ch. 10 was dead last in the ratings and well before the success of Ann Bishop and Glenn Rinker.

WDTN Dayton 1985. At the time, WDTN was an ABC affiliate and the opening animation is the same as WLS and other ABC affiliate news opens ot the early '80s. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMXDn9D_3go&feature=relmfu

Those WCAU promos appear to be the work of Klein &. I am assuming they probably composed the theme.

Those Charleston opens are terrific. I was especially glad to see the WCHS opens, since I had heard brief cuts of that theme previously.

What a horrible looking newscast, even for 1980. But "Home Country" saves it!

Those clips are excellent finds. Look at the high production values on the WFLA 1991 clip. God, I miss those days. The WOWT find is also very nice.
