Interesting. Seems that KTRK, KABC and WABC are still following social distancing guidelines with anchors noticeably spaced across the studio. Weather and sports anchors are stationed in different parts of the studio as well. All this despite the fact that anchors are posting social media photos hugging one another, having guests inside the studio, etc.

GMA also seems to be following social distancing guidelines with Ginger and Lara still stationed remotely.

Not trying to be that guy but it just seems odd to me considering they’ve all likely been vaccinated for months and aren’t particularly following the same guidelines off the air. The distance is simply not visually appealing. /rant over

KGO in mornings are sitting close together while still separated in the evenings, WPVI is the having news anchors close together sit at the desk while weather and sports are standing at the side of desk.

I just saw a preview of the WPIX mayor candidate forum. Was this shot in an old 70's porn set? This is the #1 Market type production? Hey Nexstar throw a couple of bucks for an alternate set - even a pair of drapes will do.

I am currently watching the show and I realize that my previous comments were really petty. All involved did a great job. Very informative - it just looked low budget - but I rather this than flash and fluff

I don't think it was too bad looking.

Very true!  WDJT has actually made some big leaps and it Wheel/Jeopardy combo at 6 & 6:30pm beats some of the other 6pm newscast.  Despite the woes of the transition of looking for new CBS affiliates back then of WDJT, WGCL & WOIO. They all at least were able to find their footing and get a newscast going. Nobody can't say that to the CBS O&O WWJ now.

And WDJT is the only one out of those 4 mentioned that hasn't changed their newscast title since they became a CBS station in '95. They have always been "CBS 58 News".

I see that to watch livestreams of WBRE/WYOU newscasts now, you have to login with a participating TV provider. So far, the only participating providers are four small local operations. Is Nexstar testing out restricting local station livestreams to pay TV subscribers or something?

An update on this: Both WBRE/WYOU and WTNH have removed the restrictions and now you can view their newscasts without to login.

CINCINNATI – The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP) will expand its commitment to Michigan audiences early next year by producing its own local newscasts at WSYM, its Fox affiliate in Lansing.

The introduction of local news operations at WSYM builds on Scripps’ footprint across Michigan: its three markets reach approximately 81% of the state’s TV households. Scripps also owns WXYZ (ABC) and WMYD (MY Network) in Detroit and WXMI (Fox) in Grand Rapids. WSYM previously aired local news from WILX, the NBC affiliate in Lansing owned by Gray Television.

  6. In the ongoing NY1 lawsuit, a federal judge ruled "Mornings on 1" anchor Pat Kiernan does not disclose his salary to five veteran female reporters [Roma Torre (weekday afternoon anchor), Kristen Shaughnessy (weekend morning anchor), Jeanine Ramirez (reporter and Sunday evening anchor), Vivian Lee (weekend afternoon anchor)and Amanda Farinacci (reporter)] suing the network for age and gender discrimination.

NBCSN seems to show Dog Shows and American Ninja Warrior reruns when there's no live sports programming.

I would expect FS2, the CBS Sports Network, and the Olympic Channel to go before NBCSN. I'm surprised ESPNnews is still around, to be honest. It seems like at night, they're running their talk shows on a loop for a few hours and there's not many advertisers compared to ESPN or ESPN2.

ESPNews hasn't been ESPNews since 2012.

Today is the last day for KCTV meteorologist Brett Anthony who is leaving to become Chief Meteorologist at KYTX. Brett previously worked at KSHB and at KJRH in Tulsa before returning to Kansas City.

Meanwhile, KYTX's previous chief, Joel Barnes, reported on his Twitter that he didn't stay at KYTX.  He will now be chief meteorologist at WBBJ in Jackson, TN, and get started in the next couple of weeks there.

And to compete the cycle, WBBJ's former chief, Tom Meiners has taken a job to be closer to his family in North Carolina. He will join RDU section of Spectrum News 1 (News 14 Carolina).

  9. Now it's one thing to login if they are airing network and syndicated programming on the website (like the NBC O&O's sites) or a local cable news station but it's another if you need a login for a local OTA newscast.

Ironically, DISH and Nexstar are having issues right now and if a deal isn't made by this Wednesday December 2nd, DISH viewers are out of luck.

  11. I don't want to go off topic too much but I use Bandicam & Bandicut for my videos and I paid for both so I can remove the watermark plus I can keep full newscasts (to myself) in case they use talent opens.

Nice! I was just watching it yesterday.  They need to get rid of that times new roman 13. 😂

    Keeps getting smaller.

KERO, KRIS, WLEX, KOAA, KMTV, KSTU, KATC and KSBY

Leave that "13" alone, they had it since '97 when FOX owned them. Besides I don't want them to switch to WTVT's or WHBQ's 13.
