The 25 Main Street building will most likely be repurposed. It is one of the nicest buildings in that area. I heard one the reasons they are moving is because the taxes on the prime property area so high.

Honestly, I have no idea from the national perspective.

In most places it has to do with the ad time. If a newscast runs past say 2AM the ads from the previous day are already marked as not aired, they have to make good anyway so why keep your late newscast staffers over (and pay them overtime - if hourly). Now with stations on the east coast getting ready to start their AM Shows in just over an hour do they even run the late shows (if recorded).

Most stations have a 2 a.m. contingency plan.

I just know when corporate came into the station I work for, they redid our rundowns and made it mandatory. Our News Director hates it, and tried to get rid of it, but corporate said no.

Forecast First is a mandate - from a producer standpoint - a stupid one. I'm sure that KLAS will be a different beast, but for 98% of the other stations, if it's not happening already, it will be on every newscast.
