How is it not ethical? They pay licensing fees to the F.C.C. just like other stations, or is it there political leaning?? If it's not ethical then should NBC not be on KSL-TV? That's owned by Bonneville International Corp--a subsidiary of Deseret Management Corporation, which is owned outright by the LDS Church.
Not the ownership. Just that they are having a reverend who has no journalism background present the news. That's screwed up.

What goes away first, News Net or News Nation?? There are parts of this operation that fell a little more polished than News Nation however news net really needs to work on updating it's website more frequently, today they have posted no new news articles. YIKES!
NewsNet. NewsNation needs work, but it's not going anywhere.

Many of the NBC O&Os have done something like this since N launched in 2016. My only guess is that Artworks (I think they are called something else now) allows the option for affiliates to use the graphics for the "Decision" graphics. But again, why they don't have a format specifically for N for all the O&Os I still don't understand.
It's now NBC Arthouse.

Tegna is making another buy, this time from Estrella Media.
They'll be purchasing that network's owned station in Dallas, KMPX 29, for $19 million. There are two important elements to this deal:
- Estrella will remain, on 29.1 apparently; there's a 5-year network affiliation agreement that will be part of this sale.
- There are triggering clauses in the agreement that then would allow Estrella, under a separate option agreement, to buy WFAA-TV (read: the VHF transmitter facility) for $5 million.
I'm suspicious about what TEGNA's objective here is. Are they thinking that KDAF is going to lose their CW affiliation and be able to line up KMPX as a replacement. I think it's strange for them to buy a one-off Estrella station.

And they ditched the blue shades for black & gray.
I can't believe that I'm going to say this, but that looks a lot better.
They have a new set too, though I can't say I completely understand what's going on with the rear displays. They seem to have gaps and image doubles. I'm not sure if I completely understand what effect they are after.

Because he wasn't there for 20-plus years. It's hard to do a grand farewell for someone that's not retiring or doesn't have tenure.
You have to wonder, why he moved to NBC4 to then move back to NBC5. Did they feel that David would be a better fit?

WBNS should be groveling to get Jeff Hogan back which I'm sure he sitting on top of the world at WRAL. Jeff and Yolanda would of been great together. Marky -Mark ok but nothing to write home about. For TEGNA it another cheap hire.
Taylor is not cheap.

I'd hazard that there are a fair amount of under-the-hood upgrades that we might not notice but take a while to implement?
A year and a half? Only if they bought an entirely new graphics and weather systems.

It was a year and a half effort by WNBC's Executive Producer of Weather Mike Rawlins.
Really? A new color scheme and text size take a year and a half? WHAT!?

YES! YES! YEEEEEEAAAASSSSS!!!! Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! For bringing back that familiar melody (with the ABC News signature of course) from the Peter Jennings era! AND, for getting rid of that Damn Hans Zimmer crap you used since 2012, when Diane Sawyer was at the helm. What a relief and a blessing to hear that Score Productions/Edd Kalehoff theme again.
Sadly, this doesn't seem like an updated version. Although the audio fidelity may not be good and therefore it betrays me ears, this is in fact the 2002 commission that went unused. Not exactly a modern take.

It's really hard to call these new graphics since they are almost 2 years old.

His age (57 in December) might be a strike against him in the book of Tegna. Which is ironic given how if Tribune was still around they'd have done it in a heartbeat, they did so for a 70ish Al Terzi after WFSB pressured him to retire.
If he stays in TV, I'd put them a little behind WTNH. It'd be instant gravitas and credibility but for how long. As it was, Dennis was down to the 5:00, 6:00, and Face the State on Sunday mornings (which taped Thursday afternoons). I honestly see him tackling new media and/or the political realm before a return to TV.
It's not the age that's the problem, it's the financial layout that the experience demands that's the problem for

The petition's all sorts of interesting, even if its chances of success are probably quite low.
I'd file one of these in every market in which Sinclair has this kind of control. It's all sorts of screwed up!

According to TV Passport, WOIO 19 in Cleveland is launching a new 3pm newscast on September 14. They are also launching a new 11am newscast on WUAB 43.
Temporary until after the election.

I want to say it's Peter Dean, who is credited as the voiceover for WEAU in Eau Claire.
It's not him. The way the WGBA voice actor opens his 'E' sounds, plus the slightly higher pitch, gives his a definitive Wisconsin vibe. I think he's a local boy.

Looks like they're going to be in Studio B... It's really a shame that KTVA's new newsroom and set are probably going to be ripped out after only 2 years.

Just wanted to quickly bump this thread and say that it looks like this logo will probably premiere on-air when the KTVA page is shut down. So, August 31st.
