You're entitled to your opinion.
Just remember why ordinary folks are bashing and second guessing the media... because they're injecting careless and opinions to fit their narrative. Just like what you're doing.
That seems like your opinion.

And how does this worthless comment have anything to do with television news? Hope you feel vindicated.
Profit more than hard work seems reasonably inline with those values.

Profiteering with as little work as possible...credible.
The Conservative way, of course.

Well...that intro was brief
And they still use their old logo for the news open. How do you spell lazy?
I'd say it's even lazier than you think. That graphics package is stock.

So apparently Univision in San Diego has a new package... I hate to say it, but it looks nicer than the Scripps package and uses a lot of the same colors.

Somehow we missed this one. WGBA now has the graphics and I actually like the fact they incorporated the NBC chimes into the music pkg.
WGBA isn't the first to use the NBC version though.

So first ripping off the Trib graphics and now BBC. Interesting...

WSFL-TV, despite not having a news department yet, rebranded its station with Scripps graphics last week.
Such an uninspired logo.

I Have watched news net now enough to know 2 things. 1) They don't update there "news wheel" and website nearly enough & 2) Remington has a hard time articulating his sentences.
That's why he's a terrible voice actor.

Wait. So that logo isn't a throwback? They actually designed it that way? In 2020? For a news station? It looks bad in small sizes on digital, and it's going to moiré on air. Congrats to them for creating a logo that's designed neither for TV nor digital.
Welcome to TEGNA.

You’re a tough crowd...
Yeah, no. This is design basics 101. Vertical shape transitions are so basic:

From across the group? 30 people all in some form of production and management.

I think depends on the station and the person. So like it and some hate it. Same as everything else on earth.
Overall I hear major disappointment internally.

As far as I understand from everything said on here it’s their own creation.
Yes, and how do you think the station staff feel about this package?

Nah... but from what I’ve heard from others people are warming up to these... If done right they look darn good, it’s really time for you to embrace the dark side my friend...
Lemme ask this question! Who do you think created this Scripps package?

Giant Octopus at work. Beats the pants off what you’ve been trying to get me to buy... actually the graphics I showed don’t look bad at age 11... They aged well on my TV too when I screen mirrored them.
I showed you Hothaus stuff too and the LEX 18 package is from one of two former owner of GO (as is the current WLS from the other owner, Ruth Dial). Do you want me to demo every original package out there from a design agency?

If I wanted it to do all that I would have stuck to the V2 graphics... they already did all that spinny 3D stuff. A different live bug, some highlighting flashes on the L3’s and a background behind the bug and maybe some darkening of the gradient in the background logo on full screen graphics and it would be an excellent look. It doesn’t need many tweaks to look really good. You’re showing me a lot of small market looking stuff that was cool in major markets a long time ago... any comment on my original suggestion? Flashy but not overly so with 3D elements and flatness...
You clearly aren't a graphic designer. Spinney 3D stuff. HAHAHA!

And I thought swooshes in mine were pushing it... no thanks. There is too much going on in those graphics and it’s distracting... Plus it would never fit some of their stations styles... like glove on a foot type of bad fit. It’s nice for Lexington I guess.
Scripps has essentially created someone’s watered down steam rollerized dream version of what WLS has... it could use some small things but it looks pretty good on TV when implemented correctly...
I'm not being literal. And Scripps version looks nothing like WLS's package.... I mean if we're going to ask for a standardized look, How about the KPTV package?

Out & About
in General TV
Posted · Edited by ABC 7 Denver
Being the broadcast junkie that I am, one ends up not only finding love with TV stations, but also radio stations (and for me, the latter came first). Well, I discovered an interesting little footnote: TMStudios is an E.W. Scripps company. TM was owned by Jones Media Group (then known as JonesTM). Jones was purchased by Triton (and renamed TM Studios), Triton Radio Networks (now Triton Digital) in 2008. Triton was purchased by Scripps in 2018. Ergo, why are the Scripps stations using Stephen Arnold Music when they have their own composers in-house?
