Maybe they want more newsroom or sales space for social distancing purposes whenever people start coming back into the building. I know that where I am, we've also considered mothballing one of our studios and turning it into a second newsroom.

The animation does feel a little clunky, though I do appreciate that CBS is finally going for some consistency with the same logo treatment as the network identity and the use of Proxima Nova.

Viacom probably wants to make a statement about the two companies being under the same roof again and make better use of prime real estate. MTV made good use of it during the first run of TRL, but it has been pretty much vacant ever since. Getting CTM in there is probably the best chance of anyone ever using that studio space again. The recent reboot of TRL flopped pretty quickly. I'm not sure how much this plays a factor too, but I believe there are some local regulations that require property owners/tenants in Times Square to have a flashy or high profile exterior use. The MTV studio has never been all that flashy, but it was certainly high profile during TRL in attracting huge crowds. If they do move, I'd be worried that CBS would then be lured into making the same mistakes again as the Early Show in trying to emulate the trappings of their competitors. I shudder at the thought of dueling outdoor concerts. The best thing about CTM and Studio 57 at the beginning is that it was true to what CBS News does best.

Ann from Parks and Rec is going to run MSNBC?? Oh....different person.

I don't lurk in here because I try to think about Sinclair as little as possible, but I stumbled upon this job posting for a news producer for a national morning newscast. It's based in Arlington, VA (presumably WJLA) and was posted this week. I didn't see any other postings that you would associate with an upstart national project, such as an EP, anchors, reporters, and whatever else, and there aren't any postings on the SBG careers site either. Anyone have any idea what's up with this? https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/2243725166

Not sure to what extent this applies, but some non-Nexstar stations that have content sharing agreements with Nexstar stations in adjacent markets are now being told that their partnerships have been suspended.

SF Mayor London Breed expressed her support: I have to wonder if he's getting to be senile or something. He is making less and less sense as the years go by, and he continues to write things that are clearly made up. The other person who doesn't look good coming out of this is Chuck Barney at the Mercury News. He wrote that story about Kimberly Guilfoyle reportedly going to KTVU using Lieberman as his only source. He didn't even bother to reach out to KTVU or Guilfoyle's rep. Then, once there was a ton of blowback, he tried to cover his tracks by reaching out to a handful of KTVU people after the fact to see if there was any truth to Lieberman's story, which of course there wasn't. He should be held to a higher standard given that he's a supposed journalist and has a much higher platform than blogspot.com.

Logo TV also had a newscast during that time. Ross Palombo was the anchor.

I thought they would resist, but KUSA's morning newscast has been rebranded this week as "Mile High Mornings." https://www.9news.com/video/news/local/mile-high-mornings/what-is-mile-high-mornings/73-7c5b9916-d69f-49cb-9820-61b9856ae4a0- 3735 replies

Wait. So that logo isn't a throwback? They actually designed it that way? In 2020? For a news station? It looks bad in small sizes on digital, and it's going to moiré on air. Congrats to them for creating a logo that's designed neither for TV nor digital.- 3735 replies

Stanley Roberts has been laid off at KPHO.

That story is from January, and the cuts were announced in 2018. The government announced big cuts then to not just France Télévisions but also Radio France and INA, which is sort of a historical media archive service. Since the pandemic, France 2 and franceinfo: have been simulcasting a joint Télématin/6h30-9h30 newscast, though it's really just franceinfo's regular morning news. Franceinfo: has also been airing the main France 2 newscasts at 13h and 20h one hour afterward, and they've also been doing a taped pandemic special at 22h.

Hard to put on a show for another station if you're trying to put your own show on the air. It's not impossible, but KCBS can probably produce a higher quality show for WCBS because of the time difference.

The choppers are actually based at the Hayward airport, not OAK. Also, I believe KPIX has its own chopper. From what I heard through the grapevine, the plan tomorrow is to pool again with KTVU/KPIX/KGO up constantly in two hour shifts each all day long.

Fox is dabbling into streaming. The Fox stations are doing a live Coronavirus special weekdays 1-3 pm ET on their livestreams and Facebook live. It's being produced by KTVU with contributions from the other stations.

That fake control room backdrop to the side looks very much like the Situation Room too.

I don't believe the station was ever off the air, and I think they still had their usual Sunday morning news. The fire did impact its phone system (some numbers and extensions stopped working) as well as some other technical issues.

No way that's going to last long term. Moving the show to DC was clearly all about Norah.

KRON switched to a primetime 8-11pm block as well a little more than a year ago, and it appears to be doing well. They're still far behind KTVU at 10pm, but some people are watching.
