Local morning opens from the 90's are typical hard to find, but here's 2 from Chicago (1998). Robin Meade on WMAQ: Mary Ann Childers (and Dave Price) on WBBM: Meanwhile, back to nightside opens (1997). WMAQ: WFLD:

Does anyone know where the rest of their weather roster settles in, these days? Steve Stewart does weekend mornings, last I checked, and they hired Robert Johnson as weekend evening meteorologist, which seemingly displaced Brittany Bell, but she's very visible on their social media, website, and in a recent Local-ish/O&O weather special. She's filled in at WABC and ABC News, but doesn't appear to have a set show assignment.

Speaking from a positive experience, I wish more stations/companies would just claim the copyright of the content, and monetize it for them. My effort remains up, and they make a few pennies off of it. Fine by me, since 99% of us aren't in it for money and would never think of trying to profit of our uploads.

But he's not wrong, here. That makes the difference, in this case.

Do with this info what you will. They usually have solid sourcing (even when they aren't lifting scoops from us. )

These are, to my knowledge, all the male anchors that might've been around in the late 90's/early 2000's. This list doesn't include general reporters, but this is about all I've got.... Jack Conaty, Darryl Dennard, Maurice Dubois, Jon Duncanson, Patrick Elwood, Byron Harlan,Walter Jacobson, David Novarro, Michael Pomeranz, David Rose, Larry Yellen. Many of these obviously don't fit your description. That said, the ONLY guy here that seems to fit your description would be David Novarro, previously and currently of WABC, spending about a decade at FOX32. No beard, but I know he had a mustache, at one point.

Continuing with Carol Marin's archives, here's her appearance on-set with Dan Rather on 9/11, plus reports from the following days. She's clearly in shock in that first spot. And then there's this. Carol was interviewed on many broadcasts, post-resignation, Good Morning America Sunday with Bill Ritter, followed by CNN's Reliable Sources, and Tom Snyder's Late Late Show.

I know Springer's first commentary surfaced, recently, before Ron walked, with Jerry introduced by a newly-installed Allison Rosati, but I can't see I've seen Ron's last show, either.

Hosea Sanders is receiving treatment for a recurrence of cancer. He dealt with prostate cancer in 2017, and a series of unrelated intestinal surgeries that followed. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10221530040015206&id=1078072129

And the Ron-a-thon continues, with Carol Marin's farewell speech, as she (and later Magers) famously left WMAQ in protest (May 1997). This Vimeo channel has digitized much of Carol's personal archives, and is on a bit of a posting spree this week.

I have a ton of articles saved from that time, but they're not too handy right now. Ron and Max were the main 10pm team (possibly at 4:30, but the newcomer was off half the time, anyway), but it didn't last even a year. Max's report card basically said "does not play well with others." He brought his wounded, yet still inflated network ego to a perennial 3rd place station. After Robinson's quick exit, Magers would find respectability and SLIGHTLY higher ratings with Carol Marin & Deborah Norville. If you or anyone else has any other questions about the history of Chicago news, feel free to message me. I've done a ton of casual research.

Not just later that year, she left just a month after this broadcast. And while they never permanently anchored a show together at WLS, this is from their final show together in 2016, just months before both retired.

Dominant in the ratings, with one of the greatest teams ever assembled. From the newsroom, it's The 10 O'Clock News. (8/26/1980)

Because they can. I've been guilty of this in another thread, but we don't need updates on every single freaking fill-in on 6ABC. Let us know when they announce permanent assignments, but until then, there's no need to mention what happens when someone is off.

It's actually the former. Raising it on the screen would defeat the purpose of it being streamlined and efficient, but a quick check of raw MLB highlights shows it hasn't changed.

$20 says it's laying the groundwork for April 1st. It's helps that he's off this week, and doesn't have to be seen each morning to confirm whether this is for real or not.

I've heard rumblings that isn't likely to carry over to this season on Marquee. Maybe from time to time, for higher profile games, but it shouldn't be the everyday plan. Edit: well, speaking of their attire... (paywalled) https://theathletic.com/2487854/2021/03/30/a-casual-dress-code-a-new-score-bug-and-more-changes-in-cubs-tv-broadcasts-dollars-and-sense/ Regarding the scoreboard, which would seem to differ from the bottom placement of the Bally's demo above...
-
My first thought was the 2008-ish FOX scoreboard, with all that frequently empty gray space on the right.

ABC News plucks local anchors to fill in very frequently. Not one has moved there permanently, yet, that made one of these appearances.

Here's a friendly reminder to my fellow YouTube posters. Just. Post. News. Now, as we saw with the Sloan account, sometimes newscasts and even opens get flagged, but they're still generally safe. However, anything not news, be it sporting events, soap operas, game shows, etc., are different animals. They're not public domain, and can easily get packaged together in this streaming world, whenever their parent company so chooses. What especially disappoints me right now is that even some reputable accounts that should know better are getting into posting full, non-news broadcasts. "But 24994J, these shows aren't available for public consumption." Too bad, that not a valid defense. Does it suck? Yes. Is it fair? Frankly, also yes. Their property, their rules. Don't want your account scrapped? Don't upload it. Period. Simple enough.
-
He's been doing many of the streaming, team-produced games with NBCS Chicago's Chuck Garfien, as well. I was just as surprised to hear him.
-
At this point, I wouldn't assume much about it. CBS is still dealing with an internal struggle over direction. A lot of egos butting heads, post-merger. O&O graphics are likely a bit on the back burner, at this time.

Big slap in the face to Robb Ellis. He may not be the greatest to ever do it, but he's been an able fill-in since Glaros was dumped. In that position for the better part of a year, viewers of weekday morning have surely warmed up to him by now, only for more turnover.
