1. These shots were all taken individually, but it looks like the literally cropped Jerry out of an existing group collage. I wonder if they can't find the original photos to fill the gap.
2. It's been awhile since I watched an NBC5 newscast, so maybe it's been like this for some time, but when did they update the studio lighting and remodel the stand-up area of the set?
3. Yes. It's been a bad flu season. Always keep a safe distance from sniffling sports anchors.
4. Phil did the 5 and the 7, so Larry gets priority at 10.
5. Jeff Hoover would be a key piece. Larry, too.
6. To be fair, I'm not saying they'll be successful, just that I wouldn't be surprised if they try.
7. Okay, so I'm not the only one with the theory that Good Day Chicago is in a holding pattern until they see what happens to WGN Morning News, and whether or not they can get their hands on talent.
8. As silly as this sounds, Swann is young and good looking, traits that very few conservative journalists/commentators have. There's definitely value in that.
9. Man, this picture is a whole buttload of awesome. Ron's pants, Bob's hair, Ron's pants, everyone's shoulder pads, Ron's pants, John and Mark's doublebreasted jackets, and Ron's pants.
10. Holy crap. Never thought I'd see the day that something pre-1976 saw the light of day.
11. Cool your shorts, it wasn't (and still isn't) coming up when I searched her name, so that's why I asked.
12. I believe you, but where did you see this? I couldn't find anything.
13. It looks like NBC might be getting its local stations into the Snapchat/Instagram "newscast" game...
14. Here's the first episode of Man of the People. Overall, I liked it, and the station liked the ratings, though it is only week one. They also gave it a second airing at 11 on Sunday night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uu7hGbX6-8A
15. It only took me a million hours, but here's Jerry's final 6 o'clock show, plus the segments from the 4 and 5 leading up to it.
16. Only 1 team in Chicago history beats their (month and a half shy of) 20 years, and that was WGN's former weekend team.
17. Coleman was phoning it in during his time at WMAQ. The peak level of crazy that helped revolutionize the art of TV forecasting came a decade before, down the street...
18. Larry did the 7 o'clock show tonight, and it was his formal debut. I can't think of a situation ever where an anchor has retired/voluntarily left (so firings don't count), and that person's successor started their new role the same day.
19. Brief summary of Jerry's last newscast... At least Mark put his clothes back on by the end.
20. I'd like to say I just threw this together tonight, but no. I've had this nearly ready to go just for this occasion...
21. . For sure. Heck, I'm not sure they even moved those pieces. Still, it looks pretty snazzy.
22. Did not need to see Jerry shirtless, but they delivered just that in tonight's exit interview.
23. Like I thought, tonight was Jerry's final appearance on WCIU. They'll have more tonight at 10, and the 6 tomorrow will be his last show.
24. Is it just me, or does it look like some of the old news set is being used for Pat's show?
