Rafer, Mark and George did the Friday night shows, so there's either a good reason (showing viewers the new team), or I do wonder if they're considering the Sun-Thu anchor schedule (I'm pretty sure) they tried in the 90s.
-
My point is that new ownership of WPHL (be it Sinclair, Fox, or whoever) would likely spell the end of 6abc's production of it.
-
That would make the most sense. With the future of the 10pm newscast uncertain, that would give each anchor team an even 90 minutes on-air.

Well, it seemed like it, anyway. Haha By the way, it appears that there have been some other talent moves. From what I've noticed (nothing officially announced), Kaitlin Cody has been bumped up to weekdays, appearing every day at noon for several weeks, while Mark Strehl has been pulling her original weekend evening slot. In addition, she takes over for Mike Caplan at 9am, when GDC changes tone and weather isn't on as often. That 9 o'clock hour is the ladies hour, fronted by Darlene, Natalie, Kristen, and Anita Padilla. I thought Anita was merely filling in on occasion, but she anchors with Scott from 6 to 8. Because of that move, Darlene anchors the noon news essentially every day. With Anita in-studio, there is a listing for a reporter on their website. In case that was too convoluted... 4-6: Kristen & Natalie 6-8: Scott & Anita 8-9: Scott & Darlene 9-10: Darlene, Kristen, Natalie & Anita (who appeared in more of a news anchor role) If anyone has either confirmation of or evidence against any of these changes, prove me right/wrong.

It looks like Corey finally debuted as evening co-anchor tonight. He was off for a few weeks.

Granted, he was a little out of practice from the time off (though I wouldn't say rusty), but his delivery and presence sure appear to be back to normal to me. Again, as the treatments continue and/or he regains more strength, he looks a lot better after a month back.
-
Rob's now on at 5 tonight, too. If they're going by their original plan, hopefully this means his recovery is coming along nicely.
-
Yup.

Dammit, I'm jealous I didn't make that joke when posting the video. I bow to you.

The listing appears to be wrong. The 11am repeat does not air at noon (or at all), based on 4 days of observation. Anyway, I just stumbled upon this random video of the old newsroom set being ripped out. I didn't realize just how extensive the dismantling was...4 and a half years later. Retirement that apparently has nothing to do with the merger. Retirement at 55.

I'm no rocket scientist, but I'm 99% sure that when people stop watching something, its ratings go down. Math.

In addition to rebroadcasts of ABC 7 Cubs games, other programs are beginning to see second airings on what's left of the Live Well Network. Windy City Live re-airs at 2pm, immediately following the live show. Episodes of The Chew air weeknights at 7, though they're delayed a week. The real surprise for me, though, is the return of news rebroadcasts. The 11am news, like WCL, sees a rebroadcast immediately after the first airing, at noon. This is the first time in what, like 8 years that 7.2 is being used for such a purpose?

Here's the complete ABC Evening News from New Years 1975. However, I have the video set to start with a promo for the network's "fresh, new morning show"...that would last a whole 10 months. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Ec0CPuWcgh4;m=21;s=22

November 8th, based on the football coverage. I noticed the question mark in the title.

Fire. Everyone. ()

Speaking of the 9 o'clock hour, they redesigned the shop's logo, bringing the font in-line with the rest of the show, though with a different color scheme. Old: New:

That's regionally syndicated, right? Though, I'd imagine it's mostly on Fox stations.
-
Damn, he sold his soul to a future with Sinclair to get away from weekend mornings. Yes, I acknowledge that this is one day only.

Patrick Elwood's anchoring with Jackie tonight. Is this his first time anchoring on WGN?
-
Not a thing. Patrick doesn't have a bio online, and I'm guessing he hasn't sat for a head shot, yet.

I don't think it's all week. If I understood it correctly, Patrick's now the 4pm anchor, Dick is back to weekends, and the two of them juggle the 5 and 6 until Rob takes on one or both.
