That looks even shittier than I expected.

Is it possible that McDonald's contract for the naming rights ensures national carriage?

Until they have enough confidence (ratings proof) in that early team, Larry, Robin, and company will go on at 6, and continue to beat everyone else in that hour.

Dan Ponce and Lauren Jiggetts are hosting this year's Thanksgiving Parade.

Richard Roeper is back on "Windy City Live". Today was his first official day back as movie critic, a role he served in for 3 years before leaving for Fox.

I'm still waiting for WFLD to use the OSI theme properly.

It would require a pre-planned (not new/breaking), Chicago-focused story for that to happen, so if he does it, it's very rare. I can't say I've ever seen it.

Bill's bio is not online. Still appears on-air. Darlene's bio is still online. Basically gone. Logic.

Damn, you beat me. He's got it on backwards and that's bugging me.

Ha! I didn't even notice. I guess I'm already used to it. Here's Feder's write-up, and it makes no mention of a change in Diane's role. http://www.robertfeder.com/2017/11/07/new-weekend-anchor-comes-home-abc-7/

OFFICIAL: Mark Rivera comes aboard from WTSP. He's a Chicago area native and U of I grad, class of 2011. The wording of the tweet is either sugarcoating Diane's return to the field, or might she become the 4th member of the team? I look forward to the first time Cheryl, Mark, Cheryl, and Mark are on the desk at the same time.

Yes, the end of the show. See, I thought about that, but I don't think they did that, much less this late in Joel's career. Speaking of Joel, I wish I had his retirement (and Drury's, for that matter) on tape.
-
Okay, I'm having a massive brain cramp here. What would be the context of this picture? I literally only have a fraction of a second before the tape cuts. Didn't Tracy and Mike do a wrap-up of the soap operas, each week? Even if I'm remembering that, that can't be what's going on here with Joel, right? Unrelated, but on the same tape, I found a complete episode of the "Chrysler All-Star Shoot-Out", which I completely forgot existed, and the final 10 minutes of a morning newscast (with Thom Johnson in for Roz) leading into Charlie Gibson's final Good Morning America (June 28, 2006). Going through my tapes is fun.

Color me surprised, but satisfied that they're finally addressing it. They must've gotten top network approval, considering the number on their anchor bench (with Diane considered unofficial) currently lines up with the coastal flagships. She did drop "him" a few times, and sure seemed to make it clear that it'll be someone from outside the market. As for Diane, she's done well, and deserves to still fill in, but the male anchor pool's felt awfully shallow lately (though less so since Hosea came back). Here's the video:

TV3 is the World News Tonight studio.

I guess that was the anniversary of her hiring, as they celebrated the milestone of her debut today. Also, all 8 O&O's are now posting regular content to YouTube on accounts that go back a few years, though most only starting using them in recent months.

I don't believe so.

I just stumbled upon this tweet from Patrick Fazio. Apparently NBC5 was ready to take over WTVJ's Irma coverage back in September. Fazio, Petty, and Sack would've anchored from the Telemundo set.

I believe she did the noon on Monday through Wednesday, though I missed the end of the week.

February 17th, 1983: The first 35+ minutes of WYCC Chicago's existence. Owned and launched by the City Colleges of Chicago, the public station spent most of its history as a home education outlet. Now, it is the market's secondary PBS station. Its future is unknown, however, after the FCC auction.

Conspiracy theory: GDC remains in transition for awhile in the off chance that Sinclair completely blows up WGN Morning News. As for Sylvia not anchoring weekend mornings, that kind of makes sense. She's been anchoring at noon essentially every day with no Darlene around.
-
Is Sylvia not working in the morning, too?
-
It's the same plan whether Tracy or Roz do the high school visit. They go on at 5. Phil, Larry, and Mark have filled in, as someone needs to do the forecast during GMA, though Kristin Byrne has not always come in for Roz. In those cases, the anchors read the traffic report before 5 and after 7.

I'm subscribed to their creative services account, and just saw that WGN posted this fall's sales presentation video. A few things stuck out. They conveniently left out the part that their lead anchor is leaving, though they made a point to talk up Ben Bradley. That said, the end of the clip includes a promo that is now airing to that masses that, despite a few months til his exit, completely omits Mark Suppelsa. Seems a little soon to do that, but whatever. Also in the sales pitch is a tease of a "local show with national potential, starring morning sports anchor and comedian Pat Tomasulo", that will air this winter. No idea what they have in mind, or if it has any effect on his morning show role.
