Apparently the graphics department at ABC is looking at a new way to make GMA's graphics look even shittier...
My god- that's awful! As if GMA couldn't go further down the tubes.
-
Wow, it seems like KYW is facing a mass exodus- only by choice, not by revamp, so it isn't 1991 all over again.
-
They were probably just superimposing graphics on the map itself.
-
Thank you Transdiffusion! We really should consider some sort of full-fledged alliance with them- they've got a lot of good stuff.

I think hell would freeze over if Olbermann returned to Fox Sports.
MSNBC needs help badly at 8pm, so why not?
Right, because FSN broke apart since he was there- I found some evidence on LinkedIn that they now call the remains of FSN's national infrastructure "Home Team Sports"- ironic, considering that what's currently CSN Mid-Atlantic was named that while an FSN station and owned by CBS.
-
Yikes- the situation over there seems to have completely disintegrated. If they can't get their act together, then wave goodbye to their hopes of dethroning Action News from #1.
-
It's kinda like the midwestern variant of "Baba Booey".
-
I didn't even realize they were still doing one- it was so underpromoted after Nonstop failed.
-
I was blown away when I was listening to WCBS AM on the CBS Local app and I discovered that the station has First News by Non-Stop Music. I didn't know that it was commissioned for radio, I thought it was just for TV based on the SouthernMedia News Music Archive's lack of info on radio stations.
I've been saying that for a couple years now- I noticed it one day, and I've been listening to News 88 since I was little. I thought it was weird too- but, when you're listening via your PS3, it's much better sounding. And it wasn't commissioned for radio, I think WDIV had it first and WCBS just started using at some point.

Monday - Rob, Wendy & Troy all broadcasted from the PPL Center studio all evening because of the Flyers game. Yet, the noon show is still up on the mountain - are they ever going back downtown on a regular basis??
I dunno- remember, there are problems with the ground beneath the PPL Center- back in the mid-90s, they had just constructed a new office building there, only for it to start collapsing into a sinkhole due to limestone underneath- I'm guessing they don't want a repeat of that. Hell, WFMZ actually produced a special of all their coverage of the event:

I saw another one of those parallelogram-shape promos over the weekend, this time for that FAB Life thing.
-
I also saw a promo for UpClose with flat, parallelogram style graphics- another hint of a new look?
-
So can anybody make a mockup of what the Fox ei8ht is News logo looked like for comparison?
-
Those dots on the bottom of the logo remind me of the logo for that old Paramount/CBS investigative series Hard Copy- it had a similar thing.
-
Completely unrelated to the above, I heard Joe Nolan on the radio this morning... but on CBS-FM 101.1! I thought he retired a year ago?
-
And before that she was one of the weekenders at WSB alongside John Alston and David Chandley.Sandra has been on weekends since the late 90s.

Found these clips from WTIC (pre One and Only) and WTNH (pre "NewsChannel8") circa 96 about the launch of the illfated AlphaStar DTH satellite service:
Also, does anybody have any good copies of the circa 2003 WTIC open, with the fast-paced cut of One and Only and the stopwatch graphics? -
Maybe NBC Shift- you gotta have the Peacock in there, no exceptions. Maybe they could appropriate the NBC News Channel's name from the affiliate feed service, which could be renamed.I read this article from the NY Daily News that MSNBC news chief Andrew Lack is contemplating a name change. http://nydn.us/1GHp8wU
This is a great idea.
When the change-up comes in, the name should be a major part, especially since Microsoft isn't half-owner of the network anymore and their to-be-former left-leaning image is waning hard. I suggest...shfit, like their digital online network. Because something like NBC News Network is more than a stretch for more than one obvious reason. And thinking of a name to create for this network is hard.
Thoughts?

On a somewhat related note to that, I recently read an article from a back issue of Broadcasting Magazine which said that around 1990 WFLD was going to launch "Chicago Cable News" alongside TCI and John Coleman, who apparently had just fled WMAQ at that point. One wonders what happened there that made it fall through and if this inspired WGN to go ahead with CLTV.Actually I do think there are similarities between CLTV and WFLD. I doubt that CLTV's ratings are anywhere close to WFLD, because no one who has satellite or U-verse has access to it. But still, both are basically irrelevant hangers on to relatively successful enterprises. CLTV just sits in a corner of the WGN newsroom while management, for whatever reason, continues to not give a crap about it. 'FLD rots while FOX, for whatever reason, does nothing to fix it. Both have a lot potential, but no one's interested, because apparently it's not worth the risk.

Maybe it was supposed to be an ident, like how WKYC had their 3 logo being "built" during their "Building Our Station around You" era in the mid 90s.
-
WMAR's already on death's door, no need to inflict more pain on it.I wonder why there no NOW in Baltimore?
-
WDSU came first in 1993, that was JC Burn's work. WLEX is a cheap ripoff.Just noticed this one. I wonder who copied who. WSDU or WLEX.
WDSU open from 98
WLEX open
Both had a triangle theme.

Well I know where she ended up... at News 12 NJ.at the same time that Sally Ann Mosey seemed to disappear. I always liked her.

Don't you mean Will Lewis- he was the reporter at my school a few months back. Will Butler is filling in for Jaciel at noon today - not sure if he was on in the morning or not. I think he is okay, but could be better ... he doesn't seem to speak with a "flow" but rather you can tell he is reading one word at time...if that makes any sense!

Yeah, we need more game shows, especially networked ones- why doesn't NBC bring back Scrabble (again) or Sale of the Century (the real one, not that ripoff Temptation crap from 2007), or ABC bring back, I dunno, Debt, with Wink Martindale, or maybe The Joker's Wild?
