  1. They haven't done anything meaningful with TCN since they dumped Art Fennell and the CN8 brand; it's been used primarily for overflow or not-as-important sports from CSN. Let's hope that WWCAU maybe can use TCN as a showcase for locally-produced programming, they could do that.

  2. Reporter Will Lewis and a cameraman named Albert (who has been at WFMZ since 1995) visited my school, Warren County Tech, today for a feature on our robotics team; the report will air tonight at 6PM and will also appear online. I also gleaned several bits of info: WFMZ is equipped with 8 live trucks, and apparently are now using 5-6 LiveU backpacks; the PPL Center studio is apparently accompanied by a smaller newsroom, while fiber-optics are indeed the link between PPL and South Mountain. They also use Quantel for editing, as opposing to our TV/Radio program using Sony Vegas.

  3. Oh yeah, I reported this in the shoutbox a couple days back, but it warrants repeating: WTXF has stationed a translator relay on South Mountain as of December 29th; I discovered via a add-on scan. I'm hoping the other Philly stations will soon do the same.

  4. Well, I remember how, until the mid 2000s, WPIX always had a funny picture quality on Comcast in NJ; even when we moved to Warren County, the picture looked funny until around the time they became The CW11. I'm guessing it was something in their link to Comcast. Maybe that's what's happening, only on DTV.

  5. Saw on the 6PM report what looked like a portion of the new set; a reporter was stationed outside the PPL center, and I could see a giant video wall playing promos on a loop for the 4PM report, and a glass desk with the logo on it; it was in the background, so I couldn't see more.

  6. It should be noted the original set was recycled from the failed soap "The City", which was created to salvage the failure of "Loving", with some of the surviving characters from "The Loving Murders" arc moving over to that show.
