I am not sure. For KCTV I listed it as discontinued due to this post from FTVLive.
KCTV must have ended their sharing agreement. The other side of that chopper will have KSHB's logo, and there's footage from their chopper from within the last week. What's most frustrating is how painfully SD the camera is.

Your list mentions KCTV discontinued their chopper in January 2020. They shared it with KSHB (it's really their chopper). Did that agreement end?

Considering the money has already been spent to convert the current graphics to Chryon, I'd be stunned if you are correct. The station employees were told in a recent meeting, by corporate and local bosses, that TKR/TVR will stay with the current look "at least until the corporate graphics get a refresh in 2-3 years." In addition, the contract with WCPM to retain the current music packages was just re-signed this month.
2-3 years? Scripps has decided to only stick with this look for that long? Could also just be generic speak; current look lasted 7 nearly 8 years for some.

It's effectively the WHAS logo.

WNT just needs to move to 16x9 graphics. It's the only ABC News program (as far as I'm aware) that's designed 4x3 safe. It's very odd.

Logo is still atrocious but it's certainly nice studio space.

Nice! The previous look was getting quite dated. Only thing I'd change about this one is lessening the cut out between the orb and '9'.

I like it fine and don't think it's as awful as many are saying, but then again, this site tends to hate anything new nowadays.
My biggest gripe are the player stat line in the score bug is too small and transparent. They need to lower the opacity at least. The second gripe is the down and distance indicator on the field is very hard to see. If their goal was to make it appear as if it's painted on the field, they succeeded in making it look like it hadn't been repainted all season.

I'm curious to know how KSHB's big complicated logo will look with these lower thirds, or if they'll use the generic 41 with a peacock that's been springing up on their platforms lately.

I'd only support a 5th hour if it was hard storytelling. Aka, the first half hour of the Today show.

Are these actual Tegna templates or in-house knock-offs? I haven't seen these exact looks before.
Tegna is actually beginning to roll out a slightly updated version of the 2018 look. Stations have been getting a style-guide on how to use the update. Just a few different elements here and there.

The music seriously lacks bass. That's half the problem.
As for KMGH, it looks good on them because it's Colorado. We all associate Colorado with kind of laid back and cold. That's what this look is. Laid back and cold. KMGH doesn't seem high energy either.

Scripps gets nailed with a $1.13 million fine from the FCC in an investigation from the ex-Cordillera stations over tower lighting and maintenance at 10 facilities in 5 states. Cordillera also had failed to notify the FCC of its purchase of two antenna structures.
QuoteWhen Scripps bought Cordillera’s 15 stations for $521 million two years ago, it also inherited the outstanding investigation.
Seems kind of messed up that Scripps has to pay for Cordillera's failings, but I guess they assume Scripps surely would have been aware of the state of the towers of the stations they were buying? And that two towers were bought without the FCC ever knowing? That or since there isn't a Cordillera to fine anymore...

I can see the headlines now..."Fox News TRAITOR Shepard Smith joins LIBERAL MSNBC in effort to take down President Trump!"
Or "Not-So-Secret Fox News Democrat Shep Smith is Welcomed at MSNBC with Open Arms"

Tegna appears to be working on a new website design. WVEC is one of the test stations. https://www.13newsnow.com
Though the URLs could certainly still use work.

Did they rebrand to ABC 15 Arizona at some point?

June Bacon-Bercey, the first female TV meteorologist (and of color) in the U.S. died. It seems she died in July last year, but the news was only just now made public. She was 90.

Ah, I see it's KAKE's turn to take care of KSAS. Seems like those Wichita stations rotate responsibility every what, five years?

Overnight is where DBL belongs. It cannot be doing well.

I hope that's not what their anchors get paid because if it is, then all that time studying to get a degree in broadcast journalism in pretty much wasted if you get on a Sinclair station only making $15/hour with other jobs that sometimes pay much much higher than that, some even without a college degree.
Depending on the market it might be. As already said, TV pays *poorly* when starting out, especially in small markets. A LOT of stations still give out salaries as low as 22-23k. They're getting paid less than some fast food workers.

Someone awhile back said they were surprised that Al is still on this show. Honestly, I am not. The person who I am most surprise that has lasted is Carson Daly. He been on the show fo six years now (which I didn't realize until today tha it been that long) and does not seem like he will be leaving anytime soon (which is part of why I think he left his late night show) but I will say he has grown into his role on the show very well. I know at the time lot o people has skepticism but he has turned out to be solid addition in the long run I think.
If he's that dedicated and serious toward the program then he might be gunning for a weekday spot eventually. Or he's decided to own the weekends; that's what I'd do.

Yesterday was Christa Dubill's last day at KSHB after over a dozen years. Unknown when a replacement will be named.

I did some asking...sounds like the contract is up in April and they're shedding it. It'll leave KMBC as the only station in the market with a chopper.
