1. I'm curious about WLVI... and WADL (Kevin Adell made it public that he would be willing to turn in channel 38 entirely IIRC). It wouldn't surprise me to see groups like OTA quietly either disperse of their stations piecemeal or take them off the air entirely.
2. WCMZ is also a satellite/repeater station that had no separate staff or operations. The effect would be minimal and CMU gets $20M for what was a $1M investment.
3. Kudos to Amanda for having the courage to emerge from the shadows. I think it's the first time she'll be seen in public since a guest appearance at shock jock Shane "Rover" French's annual day-long music festival (in 2013, not long after her mind-boggling emancipation with Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight, the latter of which has become a very public advocate for the abducted and abused).
4. Been that way since Saints owner Tom Benson purchased the station from Emmis (remember that he still owns it; Raycom has an SSA).
5. Same with Scripps, whose flagship is WCPO** and their largest station is WXYZ. **Not to be confused with WEWS, which was named after the company founder but has been treated like a red-headed stepchild for ages...
6. True. JP Dice is also highly popular in his own right, so that would make for a heck of a tag-team combo.
7. The second Spann leaves WBMA+, their news department becomes DOA. Given his past history at WVTM, it would be a coup for Hearst to snatch him.
8. And was later seen pitching for Hungry Jack biscuits. "In the refrigerated dough center..."
9. I'm surprised that a legacy media company like Hearst didn't develop a TV syndication service.
10. Wow. KOMO just lost their entire investigative unit. Looks like S!nclair is starting Clear Channel-esque bloodletting.
11. ABC is under contract to run DCRNYE until 2024. Seacrest is a virus, but he's still popular for some reason or another.
12. A few of my Twitter friends watched Star Wars Episode VI starting at 10:10PM... timed so that the Death Star explodes at midnight.
13. After watching the 11:59 sequence with DNCE standing behind a robotic Seacrest (yeah, I'm being redundant) looking like rejects from Andy Warhol's The Factory, I'll never watch ABC's countdown ever again. What a shameful display.
14. I honestly thought that Greta would make a return to CNN. Assuming that she does sign a deal with MSNBC, does she starts immediately or have to sit out for a period of time?
15. WCMH was home to Doug Adair and Mona Scott for about 25 years after they left WKYC... which really WAS run as the minor leagues for WNBC.
16. A six-month non-compete is more than enough time for WKYC to move Ellen and Phil McGraw up one hour each... and finally launch a 5pm newscast with Denise and Jim Donovan. WJW already has a lot of news anchors in their stable. And given Tribune's recent insistence on contract buyouts...
17. Unless you are a company unapologetically friendly to Trump... (**cough cough** S!nclair **cough cough** Fox **cough cough**)
18. It's a great move for WJR. Micheal Savage was a corporate cramdown by the Dickeys and was a terrible fit for a station known for congenial hosts like Paul W. Smith, Frank Beckmann and Mitch Albom.
19. Where would Brian logically go? 11pm is probably the only timeslot where he can't compete with Nightly News. Unless the plan is to eventually loosen that provision because he wouldn't pose much of a threat...
20. Hell, map it as 19.3 just to alleviate any confusion.
21. Now, now... let's not get too ahead of ourselves. Because... it's WJZ.
22. Yup. In this order: WJW, WKYC and then WEWS and WOIO/WUAB waaaaaaaaay in the back... WKYC now leads at 11pm mostly because WJW doesn't have an 11pm newscast (and they haven't since 1994, when they cancelled a truncated 11-minute newscast at 11pm that debuted following the Fox affiliation switch).
23. Which then devolved into the ultra-generic "19 News."
24. WOIO just can't catch a break. Now they had to respond to apparent numerous requests to drop this afternoon's Browns loss to the Bills in favor of the Steelers-Bengals matchup.
25. Because it's Nexstar, I wouldn't be surprised if they invoke the Olentangy River in some way.
