Merry Christmas, you're fired (at WTSP).

And at least it's still going to be taped in Toledo. All the Heathens are doing is transferring the control room to WSBT. Most of the news personnel will be based in Toledo.
Two former co-workers of mine work at a Sinclair station in the western U.S., but they also do news for a Sinclair station in the Midwest. These two stations are 1,500 miles apart and the same anchors and producers are doing news for both. Toledo and South Bend is nothing. I wouldn't be surprised if more of the talent is centralized in the future, especially in regions where one company owns a station in every market.

The guy who recruits managers for Scripps named himself the ND at WCPO.

For real!! What station do you work for?
Yes, WDAF-TV. We've had an anchor opening for a few months and many candidates have passed through the station.

What's going on with WEWS? It used to be a powerhouse but for the past 3 years, too many changes.
One of their anchors was in our building for an audition recently. I get the feeling morale is low up there.

Amusingly, I read "LNT" as "LINT".
They dig deep into the navel of news content.

I'll admit I'm sort-of-curious. Is he doing a live shot from a turf war in Mt. Hope or something?
Don't you love the managers who declare "Active! Props! Live shots need more energy!" That worked so well for that station in Greensboro in which the reporter decided to use the handcuffs. The viewers aren't leaving television news because we don't use enough props.

I recall TEGNA had a similar meeting with morning show managers last year. I don't think anything came of it. If you're a top-rated TEGNA station making money, I'm not sure why you would want to fix what isn't broken.

A longtime Denver anchor is leaving. She had been anchoring the morning show and the midday show at KDVR, resulting in some awfully long days.

NPG is launching a low-power NBC affiliate for St. Joseph, Mo. I have no idea what the station runs right now, if anything.

Big news from my station: 5pm/9pm anchor Susan Hiland is leaving after 17 years here at FOX 4. She will work in public relations for the North Kansas City School District.Wow! Do you know anything more about her departure? That's awfully sudden. She's always seemed like a really nice lady. She had a cool and calm demeanor about her on the desk.
It was her choice. She won't make as much money, but the hours will be much better.

KSHB had posted her job as open a couple of months ago. So long, Kacie. We'll miss watching you, but not your traffic reports or your inane pregame soccer interviews.
