  1. I disagree. I think there are many positions at CBS News that could make a move worth while for Maurice.
  2. I like what ABC is putting out right now.
  3. Maurice is certainly network worthy. It's only time before CBS brings him up.
  4. It's really a flop considering it was Christmas week but GMA won outright for the week of 12/21/15. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/morning-show-ratings-q4-2015-and-week-of-dec-21/280933
  5. You say "demoted" but my guess is he would look at this as (maybe his choice) to begin the process of retirement, not him being demoted.
  6. Not to go back to the conversation but a WNBC 4pm newscast would be a blessing for WABC. Ellen is a tough competitor and is keeping WABC #3 in the time slot (though First @ 4 still rates better than all the other station's 5pm newscasts). WABC would easily bump to #2 if this happens, even if WNBC had an Ellen lead-in.
  7. I don't find Craig Melvin anchor material and if he is the regular co-host, I think Today is going to kill it's weekend broadcast that is already not great with Erica.
  8. The afternoon newscasts don't air on Christmas so it's just morning and the 11pm, I'm sure they even got a chance to go home in between.
  9. They do the same schedule every Christmas.
  10. This was already mentioned in the GMA thread.
  11. I wouldn't put it against ABC News to make her an LA correspondent.
  12. I think Lori would do great things for WABC in the afternoon/evenings and I don't see many reasons (minus personal reasons) why Lori would want to turn this down, she's certainly earned it after all these years.
  13. Hmmmm.... Josh just quit NBC today, just saying...
  14. Agreed. Shirleen has added a lot of slack for WABC to make changes.
  15. If Liz did leave (would be a sad day for WABC), I could see Lori picking up the 4&6 and either Shirleen or Michele get the morning shift. If WABC were to go with a more extreme change, the best pairing I think would be: Mornings: Michele & Ken Noon & 4: Shirleen & David 5: Diana & Sade 6&11: Bill & Lori I think of the 4 options you put out, this would be the best. The only problem is a lot of people like Diana and Sade as a team.
  16. I'd like to see Mid-day: Brenda & Tamsen 5pm: Tamsen & John 6pm (hour): Kaity & Brenda 10pm: Kaity & John
  17. I think there's more to this than just a half hour 6:30 newscast. If they wanted to expand a half hour, they could have easily just used John and Tamsen. My guess is on either a midday or 11pm newscast.
  18. I sure hope so, the special report graphics are pretty lousy right now and way too patriotic.
  19. Is there anything you don't complain about? I mean seriously, he was trying to make a joke, you could have just ignored it but in typical fashion, you had the need to complain. I don't come here to read your complaints, I come here for smart discussions on specific topics.
  20. While it's not a big deal considering it was Thanksgiving week, WNT won last week in the demo beating Lester for the first time in four months. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/evening-news-ratings-week-of-nov-23-and-november-sweeps/278549 I've even seen George come in during prime time sometimes. George did a special report a few weeks ago at 7:30pm est when David Muir could have easily just done it since it was right after WNT. So George is definitely taking his chief anchor roll seriously.
  21. Amy filled in for Robin today but also did the news rundown. Odd they didn't have a fill-in news anchor, both Today and GMA have been messing with the news anchor roll recently.
  22. Yes but this is NBC Nightly News we are talking about, not CBS 493 News in Onionville. Kidding of course but the point stands, it is the flagship broadcast of NBC News.
  23. I gotta give ABC credit, that live stream was great and today's broadcast was fantastic.
