  1. She is fine, she is on vacation. It is a common practice at the end of a sweeps period for many anchors to take off because they are not allowed to take off in February, May, July and November so it condenses when they can be off to just 8 months rather than 12. I am not disputing anything you said, I am just doing to dissect some of it. "She is not required to report from the field" Not many anchors are though. The only time most of the anchors do, is when there is a big news even like Newtown, Lori Stokes was live the next morning from Newtown. Tom Llamas, Rob Schmitt and the other few are a select few and those are special circumstances. "has limited fill-in requirements" She is the lead fill-in for Sade Baderinwa and often fills in for Liz Cho. This was at her request though. Besides that, everything else you said is pretty straight forward. You gain a good salary, paid benefits and vacations as you gain seniority which she has certainly earned by now. She is New York's Katie Couric -- New York's Sweetheart.
  2. Even against the Olympics, GMA won February sweeps in total viewers. http://abcn.ws/1g31J00
  3. I think its gonna be the opposite if anything. Cindy can hold a newscast solo, I'm not sure Andrea could do that, especially in the evening.
  4. I find it interesting, The Pix 11 Morning News does better in the demo in NY than CBS This Morning. https://twitter.com/lewsview/status/439113714391089152
  5. Photo shoots are this week and the weekend morning team will be shooting new opens and promos next week! http://instagram.com/p/kpdaJOn6Cg/ https://twitter.com/mcharlesworth7/status/436249492816683010
  6. No surprise, Today won last week in total viewers and demos because of the Olympics. I must say though, by a pretty lousy gap. http://nbcumv.com/mediavillage/networks/nbcnews/pressreleases?pr=contents/press-releases/2014/02/18/todaywinsrating1538438.xml I have not doubt GMA will be back next week if not this week with oscars coming. Not saying Oscars can beat Olympics but it will help considering its not a huge viewer gap.
  7. Maybe WABC can fill the 3pm time period with this? http://www.cbstvd.com/press_release_detail.aspx?newsID=258
  8. Dick work weeknights. He is not going back to weekends. He is a runner up for the 6pm spot. He is doing amazing with Alice. He is not moving. And Diane has said she is going to mornings so you don't even need to mention evenings.
  9. Maybe Cindy is being moved to weekend evenings only or Andrea is being moved to weekend evenings solo or with Cindy. I'm personally hoping for the first, Cindy moving to just evenings.
  10. I'm just gonna say for anyone else who will want to start talking about this again, there is a thread on this in, "Network News", lets not turn this thread into that again. http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?/topic/12966-abc-world-news-fluff/page-2 I will say though, I enjoy ABC's Good Evening America.
  11. This is a general thread to discuss ABC World News. I'll start it off by saying I find it very odd that during sweeps Diane would be on and off. She has been in and out for the past 2 weeks with David and George filling in.
  12. They only have one version of each (TINY, News 4 NY and Storm Team 4). They need more versions at least.
  13. Ummm... I think she was back today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75N3TzPI424
  14. I wonder if they are gonna do News Briefs at 12am like if I remember correct they did last time?
  15. They already got old... :bang:
  16. I would just add one thing. Diane said that normally, its the opposite and ratings tend to go down with George where as David usually sees ratings stay stable/increase. In similar news David Muir is on tonight.
  17. If they go the game show way, I think Millionaire will be part of the move and the news will be expanded at noon. Millionaire is #1 in its timeslot and Eyewitness News at Noon is #1, maybe Millionaire can have its same luck at 3pm (against Dr. Phil & Steve Harvey). They can beat Steve with Millionaire at 3pm, Dr. Phil... it'll be close.
  18. I changed my post before your post but you must have been typing by the time I did so I don't know if you want to respond any differently.
  19. I have no idea what they are going to fill the 3pm with. Maybe they can move GH back to 3pm, take The Doctors from WLNY and put that at 2pm so EWN at 4pm has a #1 lead in?
  20. Considering it was coming down pretty bad at 8am, I though it was smart. And its better to have storm coverage than Pop News when there is a storm. I think they just want to keep being "First at."
  21. Dr. Jay Adlersberg retired from WABC today after 30 years with the station.
  22. Today was Lisa Kerney's last day on WCBS, she is going to Sports Center. Explains why she left The Couch.
  23. Guess who isn't covering the State of The Union.... How can anyone trust WPIX for the news when, they will be on air for 6 hours consecutively for a less important story and not cover an important one. I don't usually condemn copying but geez, if its this bad, why don't they just copy the amount of coverage the other stations do. :bang:
  24. ABC News: 9-10:30pm NBC News: 9-11pm CBS News: 9-10:30pm Fox News: 9-10pm then the Fox 5 News from 10-10:30pm (yes, half hour) WPIX: 9-10pm then the PIX 11 New at 10pm
