No, it's been Ginger, Sarah and Gio recently.
-
Just for clarity, I think we should keep all talk of Josh and Amy on the thread that was now created for him.
-
For me Josh didn't make the show so it's not a complete loss for me. This is certainly Today's best chance of ratings gains but at the same time, Amy is a very strong anchor and part of the team. With this, I would expect David Muir to replace George if he gets World News because I doubt they will go all female. Something else I find interesting, both Josh and Sam have gone to the NBC side. I wonder if ABC will try to steal someone from NBC? Maybe Natalie or Ann? Just a thought.

I have to say, Gio Benitez is moving up rather quickly in the rankings at ABC News recently. He is practically a co-anchor of GMA Live and is the main reporter for 20/20 tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a spot somewhere in a bigger position soon. One thing ABC is very good at, is building up reporters.

For the first time ever, GDNY has beaten GMA in key demo for the month of March. http://on.variety.com/1jSr0cY

Besides Bill and Liz, they're probably New York's favorite current anchor team.
-
Like TVNewsLover said, I don't think Bill is going anywhere yet. Anyway though, I like both of your choices but you are messing up the lineup too much. They aren't going to screw with every team, even when Bill leaves... it's not WABC's fashion to do so. There are only 3 true options I see: 1. When Bill leaves, someone (Rob?) will simply replace him at 6 & 11 and that will be it. 2. David takes the 6pm with Liz and (Rob?) takes the 11pm and maybe could continue sports at 6pm or even at 4 or 5pm and Laura could do sports at 11pm. 3. David moves to 6 & 11pm and someone (Rob?) takes over at 4pm. Those are the only 3 options I see, anything else is changing the lineup too much and WABC simply won't do.
-
In the end, I don't see Josh leaving, I think they will reach an agreement. One of them (ABC or Josh) have to and will give in a little.
-
While I don't want Josh to go, I think it would be an obvious fit to have Amy Robach replace him.
-
Cecily Tynan will be doing weather this weekend on GMA. Should be very good!
-
So apparently Dan Rice was let go from WABC. My guess is that they didn't see need for 3 helicopter anchors.
-
Katie was a joke and Meredith was "The only person that would get it before Natalie" if she really wanted to. Completely agree, there will be no "curveballs to viewers."
-
I don't think it's because it's hard to find people to do the 6, I'm sure any person employed at WABC would love to anchor the 6pm. I don't think Bill is retiring yet either, all I was pointing out was that he is getting to the age where he can retire at anytime.
-
The last thing the Today show should be doing is "throwing curve balls at viewers." They should be choosing someone who is part of the show already and the viewers already know as part of Today. That person is Natalie. And I'm sure Natalie would have a fit if she wasn't given the anchor seat, as most in that position would. The only person that would get it before Natalie would be Meredith (or Katie) but she is starting a new show in the Fall so I doubt she will want to spend her time the summer before anchoring.

So Savannah got married this weekend and announced she is 4 months pregnant. Congratulations to her. I find it hilarious how she did it, if you didn't see, they played the NBC News Special Report music and then they announced her "breaking news" that she is pregnant. What I really want to get to though is that, it's probably obvious Natalie will take her spot while she is on leave but who do you think will sub as news anchor? Ann Curry Seriously though, Willie? Carson? Tamron? What do you think?
-
Yes. They NEVER have a sub at 6pm unless both Liz and Bill are off and at that, they still get someone to solo.
-
Ok, there are a lot of red flags going off right now. Rob is co anchoring with Liz at 6pm right now and Laura is doing sports. This never happens. Bill or Liz usually solo when the other is out. Very, VERY odd. Could this be in prep for Bill retiring, could this be because NBC 4 doesn't solo at 6 anymore? Either way, very odd.

John is the weekend sports anchor, Harry is a "sports reporter" but really does general work.

2 things on weekend GMA weather anchor hunt. 1. They seem to be leaning towards another female. 2. They must be narrowing the choices down because they are repeating the same people a little more often now. They had Adam Joseph from WPVI do it a few months back, I was hoping for him but they haven't had him back since.
-
I don't know why they had her solo but it was not good. A lot better with Jim next to her. I mean, I can't blame her, it must be difficult not having any information and trying to speak and get info at the same time.

GDNY has been doing very well in the Demo's recently. Seems to me like advertising GMA and Today needs to be stepped up in NY. https://twitter.com/LewsView/media I know Lori, Ken, Heather and Bill were shooting a promo with the GMA team a few weeks back. Those commercials with EWN and GMA are always good, I look forward to seeing it and hopefully, it will air a little more often to notch the demo back up to #1 everyday.
-
I am indifferent about it. I guess it's good to start a conversation on Twitter.
-
And Today copied GMA in many ways too, one good example is how all the anchors including Al and Natalie sit at the anchor desk rather than just Savannah and Matt. It happens, not sure how it is that big of a deal.
-
On a separate note, I think ABC should find an anchor spot for Amy Robach on GMA similar to what NBC has done on Today for Tamron Hall and Carson Daly. Even if Amy had the equivalent of Carson's job on GMA (reporting from the #SocialSquare), she is a vital part of GMA these days. Also, another rising star on GMA... Sara Haines.
-
The orange room was the first thing I thought of. The only thing is the #socialsquare has a lot more features and seems a lot more usable than the orange room. Also, it looks like they got rid if the kitchen for this. Not a bad thing, GMA doesn't do that much cooking and most of the kitchen segments are outside.
