  1. I'm sure they will use the men more now that the program only has 1 man.
  2. The same can be said for the Today Show though. I'd even say Today is even more fluff than GMA.
  3. Live (in the East) would be moved to 10am, not sure what would happen in the other time zones. Maybe align those time zones to the East schedule? One thing for sure, Live must air in the Mornings, it won't work otherwise.
  4. If two feeds is the basis of success for a show, I guess The Chew isn't successful. Luckily, it's not... look at the ratings. And I'm sorry you think, "Either The Chew needs to provide two feeds, not be day and date, cancelled and replaced with something scripted, or the time returned to affiliates" because none of that needs to happen. The Chew is doing fine as is and it's going to continue to work the way it is.
  5. I agree The View is loosing its' touch but the ratings aren't. As much as people like to hate her, Elizabeth made the program interesting with her personality and when she disagreed, it made the show more interesting. ABC needs to go back to a 5 person panel and they need to choose 2 very good people. That said, the ratings at The View are doing well has always and the show isn't going anywhere. The Chew is doing VERY, well and is going up every time the ratings are out. The Chew is going nowhere. Frankly, everything on ABC Daytime is doing well enough that none of the shows will be canceled. ABC will take an hour from local stations before they cancel any of the 3 shows. My guess is a memo will go to the local stations to not extend syndicated shows for the 9am hour after a certain season and they will start a 3rd hour of GMA following that season.
  6. GMA looking at adding 3rd hour. http://www.tvnewsinsider.com/22565
  7. Today, Linda celebrates 30 years at ABC 7. Congratulations Linda!
  8. It's being discussed at the link below and is legit. http://forums.tvnewstalk.net/index.php?/topic/13674-josh-elliott-to-depart-abc-news-for-nbc-sports-amy-robach-promoted-to-gmas-news-anchor/page-5&do=findComment&comment=107254
  9. I completely agree that the few times I watch EWN Morning's, it's very dull. They seem too tired, you are supposed to wake up to them? I know the 7 in the Morning promo was odd but that kind of fun is supposed to wake you up in the morning. The current newscast is the polar opposite, they should be in the middle of present and the 7 in the Morning promo.
  10. Does someone need to ask if an anchor is ok, every time they are off for over a week!?!? I'm sure she is fine.
  11. No, it's been Ginger, Sarah and Gio recently.
  12. Just for clarity, I think we should keep all talk of Josh and Amy on the thread that was now created for him.
  13. For me Josh didn't make the show so it's not a complete loss for me. This is certainly Today's best chance of ratings gains but at the same time, Amy is a very strong anchor and part of the team. With this, I would expect David Muir to replace George if he gets World News because I doubt they will go all female. Something else I find interesting, both Josh and Sam have gone to the NBC side. I wonder if ABC will try to steal someone from NBC? Maybe Natalie or Ann? Just a thought.
  14. I have to say, Gio Benitez is moving up rather quickly in the rankings at ABC News recently. He is practically a co-anchor of GMA Live and is the main reporter for 20/20 tonight. I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a spot somewhere in a bigger position soon. One thing ABC is very good at, is building up reporters.
  15. For the first time ever, GDNY has beaten GMA in key demo for the month of March. http://on.variety.com/1jSr0cY
  16. Besides Bill and Liz, they're probably New York's favorite current anchor team.
  17. Like TVNewsLover said, I don't think Bill is going anywhere yet. Anyway though, I like both of your choices but you are messing up the lineup too much. They aren't going to screw with every team, even when Bill leaves... it's not WABC's fashion to do so. There are only 3 true options I see: 1. When Bill leaves, someone (Rob?) will simply replace him at 6 & 11 and that will be it. 2. David takes the 6pm with Liz and (Rob?) takes the 11pm and maybe could continue sports at 6pm or even at 4 or 5pm and Laura could do sports at 11pm. 3. David moves to 6 & 11pm and someone (Rob?) takes over at 4pm. Those are the only 3 options I see, anything else is changing the lineup too much and WABC simply won't do.
  18. In the end, I don't see Josh leaving, I think they will reach an agreement. One of them (ABC or Josh) have to and will give in a little.
  19. While I don't want Josh to go, I think it would be an obvious fit to have Amy Robach replace him.
  20. Cecily Tynan will be doing weather this weekend on GMA. Should be very good!
  21. So apparently Dan Rice was let go from WABC. My guess is that they didn't see need for 3 helicopter anchors.
  22. Katie was a joke and Meredith was "The only person that would get it before Natalie" if she really wanted to. Completely agree, there will be no "curveballs to viewers."
  23. I don't think it's because it's hard to find people to do the 6, I'm sure any person employed at WABC would love to anchor the 6pm. I don't think Bill is retiring yet either, all I was pointing out was that he is getting to the age where he can retire at anytime.
  24. The last thing the Today show should be doing is "throwing curve balls at viewers." They should be choosing someone who is part of the show already and the viewers already know as part of Today. That person is Natalie. And I'm sure Natalie would have a fit if she wasn't given the anchor seat, as most in that position would. The only person that would get it before Natalie would be Meredith (or Katie) but she is starting a new show in the Fall so I doubt she will want to spend her time the summer before anchoring.
