  1. WJZY is another example...it will probably get it back from WCCB when that contract runs out. Ironically WCCB picked it up from WJZY after FTS bought WJZY. It won’t be on 46.2 though because it maps to WMYT 55.1.
  2. So he came from WCNC? So that’s why it’s Wake Up Atlanta. I had known Ella was at WGCL, but just assumed it was WXIA because of it being sister stations to WCNC forgetting she was at WGCL. And it’s not even Monday.
  3. Oops...and I was going to even put it in the Tegna board.
  4. WGCL has rebranded their morning show as “Wake Up Atlanta.”
  5. She is still there, and her family lives in Winston-Salem I believe so hopefully she will stick around a while. The station needs some stability. She took Diana Alvear’s 6 and 10:00 spot when she left in February.
  6. Leaving her former station was difficult for her
  7. YouTube TV is dropping the Fox Sports regional channels AGAIN.
  8. https://www.facebook.com/194220537255104/posts/4805304339480011/ WBTV reporter Bria Bell is leaving for a station in Dallas, her hometown. She went to visit Molly because she is still on maternity leave (Molly will be back first week in October).
  9. Right after the Braves-Mets game ended I saw a promo on WJZY for their 10:00 news, about a “Moving Mayhem” feature they are doing on Monday and it said it was “Charlotte’s most watched 10:00 news.” Whaaaaaaaat? So it has passed WCCB AND WAXN at 10?
  10. Yeah I didn’t like when WNCN went with CBS North Carolina when they first switched to CBS in 2016. That was a slap in the face to all the CBS affiliates all over the state, especially legacy affiliates WBTV and WFMY that have always been a primary affiliate since the late 40s, early 50s.
  11. After losing her baby in May, Allison Latos of WSOC found out after a viewer email she had thyroid cancer, I meant to post about this earlier. https://www.wfae.org/post/charlotte-reporter-experiences-sickness-and-loss-also-hope-and-joy?fbclid=IwAR10Gu_tsrxAgwfm8rB2F-AnnErjswGXL_yz8oNOUM37q_ELPyxAey-SAXs#stream/0
  12. I will have to keep my eyes out for WCNC
  13. Especially since they decided to go the lifestyle route again at 3. QC at 3 is basically a clone of QC in the Morning.
  14. I hope the Good Day Charlotte extension is next. May have to wait for syndication contracts to expire. What I could see is WMYT taking 25 Words or Less when America Says is cancelled in a few weeks. And I’d like to see WJZY’s new schedule be something like this: 9am Good Day Charlotte extension 10am Rachael Ray 11am Kelly Clarkson Noon Dr. Oz 1pm The Real The rest stay the same
  15. WJZY just hired a new news director and his first move is now not starting their weekend editions of Good Day Charlotte until 6am They are adding more infomercials. No biggie at 5am on weekends. Don’t think this is really a big loss. I don’t think that many people could have been watching a weekend newscast that early on a 5th place station. That said, hopefully it means they are eventually expanding during the week.
  16. This was actually posted by WJZY. Ooops. Quickly deleted....
  17. Molly was interviewed by CNN this morning
  18. Thank goodness they are all going to be OK.
  19. Cox Media stations go dark in 10 markets on Dish Network Don’t know why this was posted in Out and About.
  20. Congratulations!
  21. Congratulations WBTV’s Molly Grantham and family! Her third baby arrived last night! https://www.facebook.com/194220537255104/posts/4472321692778279/
  22. She comes to WJZY from sister station WJTV in Hattiesburg. Welcome to Charlotte Lanaya!
  23. Was also 42 years since WSOC went from NBC to ABC, WRET (now WCNC) went from independence to NBC and WCCB went from ABC to independence, and 7 years since WJZY took the Fox affiliation and WCCB switched to the CW after FTS bought WJZY and WMYT from Capitol Broadcasting.
  24. WJZY is no longer airing its special Tuesday night 11pm newscast which it called “Fox 46 News Nightside.” It was for coronavirus and primary election coverage. It had aired on Tuesday nights since the end of February. I guess it will return when it gets closer to the election. But they need to just go ahead and make that a permanent every weeknight thing,
  25. That’s an odd time for Dr. Phil to air. Most NBC stations air Days of Our Lives at 1. Still got time to tinker. Maybe put Days at 1 and Phil at 2.
