Rachel Coulter joins WBTV from WLBT. Right now she will be on in the mornings. Al Conklin says she is helping out. They will apparently roll with two meteorologists in the mornings but I’m thinking Al becomes Chief Meteorologist when Eric Thomas retires and Rachel takes over permanently in the mornings. They don’t need two meteorologists in the morning. They seem to have hired a good one.

Yes, she came to WJZY from WTVD. That’s probably how she got the job at ABC, being that WTVD is an O&O.

Just heard former WJZY Good Day Charlotte anchor Morgan Norwood on WSOC reporting about Hurricane Ida. She is now a correspondent for ABC News. Not sure how long she has been in that position. You might remember she was let go after only a month or so from WJZY back in the winter for accidentally letting off an F bomb. Good to see her back on her feet.

Just now seeing this. Can’t see WMYA airing all two hours, as it already airs a 10pm news produced by sister WLOS. I could see them airing 30 minutes of it or an hour. I could see WMYV and WRDC picking up the whole broadcast. The MT and PT stations should have the option to air a repeat at 9 or 10pm their time after CW primetime. As much as a laughingstock as NewsNation is, at least they air a repeat on the West Coast.

Josh Sims is leaving WJZY…he didn’t say where he was going. He just finished his last Charlotte Sports Live. That was the announcement.

I thought this was just a one time thing because of the 25th anniversary but Charlotte is still a relatively new Nexstar market.

San Francisco did away with early prime after a few years. It was just their NBC and CBS station that did that. Sacramento is the only PST station that has it.
