  1. Good for them. WBTV celebrates its 70th July 15, 2019.
  2. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/entertainment/tv/media-scene-blog/article93287807.html WBTV's new Morning Break show which I posted about earlier will be an hour and it will replace Flip My Food and Fix It and Finish it, which apparently got cancelled. They had previously renewed the shows for 2 more years. Smart of WBTV to expand local programming instead of spending for more syndicated fare.
  3. WSPA also has LMAD at 9 and a local show at 10, called Your Carolina. Agreed!
  4. http://m.wbtv.com/wbtv/pm_/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=od%3AIeXouYdC WBTV launches a new lifestyle show on Labor Day at 9am. Doesn't say if it will be a half hour or an hour. If an hour, Flip My Food and Fix it and Finish It may be moving to 3 and 3:30, assuming they are renewed for another season. given that they are Raycom shows. Steve Harvey may be going to another station.
  5. I always enjoy your Changing Newscasts updates.
  6. Yeah I get the newscasts airing on KICU, but really? KTVU Plus? If you're going to do that, move it to 2.2! Would not put it past them to do the same thing with WMYT in Charlotte.
  7. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/cbs-news-cuts-jobs-as-weekend-newscasts-targeted-for-change/289333 April Fools? Article is dated yesterday. If not I don't think the weekend CBS Evening News would be missed. Stations would like the extra local ad time and sometimes it isn't even seen because of sports. I also think CBS This Morning Saturday should be cut to an hour. That would allow more flexibility for local news on the weekends. For example That 7am hour of E/I on Sunday mornings could instead air at 9am Saturday's on WBTV, freeing up the Sunday 7am hour for a local newscast.
  8. Or in the case of WSOC/WAXN, dump Meredith completely (for the FAB Life). Really surprised they have yet to launch a 4:00 newscast. I guess WSOC is happy with Dr. Phil at 4.
  9. CBS also feeds Y&R at 12 ET/11 CT for those Central Time Zone stations who have a noon newscast.
  10. Gotcha.
  11. Just 5 news organizations (WBTV, WSOC, WCNC, WCCB and WJZY) but on 6 commercial stations, 7 if you count the WBTV news from 7-9 am and 8-9 pm on Bounce 3.2. I agree, it's a bit much. But WCCB wasn't giving up on its news just because they lost the Fox affiliation.
  12. WBTV weekend sports anchor Leah Rubertino has left the station to pursue a career in public relations. She is also getting married in September. Her last sportscast was last night. She will remain in Charlotte. We will miss you Leah! I had the pleasure of meeting her at a football game of my high school's she was covering in 2013.
  13. Wow! He is the first WJZY employee to voluntarily leave since they joined Fox. Shannon Rauch was let go back in February (thought that was a bit unfair).
  14. Agree, The Chew needs to also be fed (no pun intended) at 11am CT. But until it is, it should be at 1, with GH at 2.
  15. Brad Panovich just confirmed on Facebook that the change will be tomorrow.
  16. What about 7-9 am on WATL? Guess that branding remains the same? EDIT: Never mind, I checked, I thought they had 7-9 news on there, I guess not.
  17. And as someone pointed out on Radio Discussions, why not make this 3 hours? So that affiliates wouldn't have to get their own. But oh well, they can use some of what they already air. Wonder if WJZY will pick this up or hand it to WMYT like they recently did Weekend Marketplace?
  18. Speaking of WCNC they along with the other affiliates will be looking for a replacement for the Live Well network. http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/local-tv/abc-discontinue-live-well-network/131646#.U5XqOY9Q4Vo.twitter Maybe Antenna TV or This TV could go to 36.2 which would allow Movies! to finally go to 46.2 or 55.2. Not sure when those contracts expire.
  19. About time!
  20. Maybe now they can actually get HD. Though I guess Gannett has the final say when that happens.
  21. I read on Twitter WYMT in Hazard, KY is getting HD. How does a station in the 25th largest market (WCNC) allow a station in HAZARD, KENTUCKY to beat them to HD? Even after the change to Gannett. WCNC should have got it a long time ago!
  22. Christine Noel tweeted that she and her husband are moving to the West Coast. So if Kirk is leaving, I'd imagine they'd just have two 10:00 anchors. Although they still need a replacement for Cassidy on WCCB News Edge.
  23. Their contract with NBC running til like 2021 and the NBC News Channel headquarters might have been the only two things keeping WCCB from stealing NBC away from them last year when Fox went to WJZY.
  24. And WCNC in Charlotte STILL doesn't have HD.
  25. Don't think Fox graphics are going to fly at WCNC, with WJZY now a Fox O&O. Unless these are a different type of Fox graphics.
