  1. I read on Twitter WYMT in Hazard, KY is getting HD. How does a station in the 25th largest market (WCNC) allow a station in HAZARD, KENTUCKY to beat them to HD? Even after the change to Gannett. WCNC should have got it a long time ago!
  2. Christine Noel tweeted that she and her husband are moving to the West Coast. So if Kirk is leaving, I'd imagine they'd just have two 10:00 anchors. Although they still need a replacement for Cassidy on WCCB News Edge.
  3. Their contract with NBC running til like 2021 and the NBC News Channel headquarters might have been the only two things keeping WCCB from stealing NBC away from them last year when Fox went to WJZY.
  4. And WCNC in Charlotte STILL doesn't have HD.
  5. Don't think Fox graphics are going to fly at WCNC, with WJZY now a Fox O&O. Unless these are a different type of Fox graphics.
  6. I also thought they would put news on 3.2. Charlotte doesn't need a fourth 10:00 newscast. 8-9 makes a lot more sense. I could see Maureen O'Boyle taking that newscast since she already does 7.
  7. So Telemundo has an affiliation in Columbia but not Charlotte. Wow. You'd think one of the Charlotte stations would have put it or Univision on a .2. I could see WJZY or WMYT picking up MundoFox.
  8. I could see the CW going to WOLO's .2 channel since Bahakel's flagship is CW. They could put a 10:00 news on it. Only thing is I think weather reports still originate from WCCB. WIS or WLTX could also start a 10:00 news for a CW .2.
  9. http://charlottemediascene.blogspot.com/2013/11/wsoc-to-expand-10-pm-newscast-to-hour.html?m=1 WSOC is expanding their 10:00 news on WAXN to a full hour starting December 2. (Weekdays only). This will be the first ever 10:00 hour long conventional news broadcast in the market. Not counting WCCB's news which is followed by News Edge. It also confirms WJZY's will be an hour when it launches.
  10. So far no local TV personality has made the jump to WJZY.
  11. The WBTV morning and afternoon traffic reporters have switched dayparts. Tonya Rivens moves to afternoons. Sammi Jo Francis moves to mornings.
  12. Also WJZY could pick up TMZ Live. Gloria Allred or Karen Mills could migrate to WMYT.
  13. http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/09/26/4345404/this-just-in-at-91-anchor-doug.html#.UkUMVJm9LCS WBTV is bringing back their first ever anchor, Doug Mayes, to fill in on the 11:00 news tomorrow! 91 and his mind is still sharp as a tack! Great story!
  14. Morgan started back on WCCB tonight at 10. Let's see how long the 3 anchor team lasts.
  15. The Observer article states Al Jazeera let her out of her contract.
  16. Morgan Fogarty will return to WCCB tomorrow! http://www.charlotteobserver.com/2013/09/09/4300725/an-about-face-for-fogarty-as-she.html#.Ui49-rwmzk8
  17. This just in: Morgan Fogarty threw us a shocking curveball. She's returning to WCCB! http://www.wccbcharlotte.com/story/morgan-fogarty-to-return-to-wccb-charlotte-20130909 Can't see WCCB carrying 3 weeknight anchors. Christine Noel may end up filling her own vacancy on weekends!
  18. And I just looked at WWAY's schedule. How do you have infomercials at 9, 9:30, noon AND 12:30 weekdays?
  19. Wow they're gonna need to acquire a lot of syndie shows to fill up the time. But good for WWAY.
  20. She didn't say what station but I'm going to guess WCNC's soon-to-be sister station KUSA.
  21. Didn't think about that. Jacinda Garabito obviously didn't have one. She jumped from traffic at WBTV to weather at WCCB.
  22. Wonder if it could possibly be WJZY. They may mostly be looking for Fox people but could be a possibility. It might be a little early for them to hire an anchor though.
