Based on Twitter, Alex will not be returning as traffic reporter but In another capacity at CBS 2.

Maybe full time general reporter? Doesn't she also report during "The Couch" If so maybe she's going to be a host on there?
  2.

Thoughts and prayers go out to his family as well as the entire WSB team. He was well known in that market and traffic reporting in Atlanta won't be the same anymore.

My sentiments exactly was watching some of the videos WSB posted on their website and one of them it said his name along with "1953 - 2014" He left way too soon may he RIP and thoughts and prayers go out to his family, friends, and all of his colleagues at WSB-TV & WSB Radio.
  3. It looks like Sibila might be off this whole week as Shiba was filling in for Sibila at 6 tonight, and was also filling in for her at 6 & 11 last friday night. I know not many people here like Shiba, but I think she's great as is Sibila and it was nice to see Shiba on the 11pm show felt like old times.

I'll be glad to tell you. First off, you can tell that he creeps Tamsen out. To put it simply, he's a pervert. And not only that, he can't do the weather. He just mumbles the forecast, covers up the maps so nobody can see them, and doesn't even refer to the maps that are behind him. Personally, he didn't bother me when Jim and Kaity were there, but now he's just annoying and creepy.

Okay thanks for informing me. I will maybe try and catch a WPIX 5pm or 10pm show.
  5.

She could be doing the noon and 6pm as Lucy Noland was.

Possibly, but maybe just the noon show like Whit does. I mean hasn't KNBC have someone else anchor the 6pm show up until late last year when Colleen assumed 6 pm anchoring duties? As far as I can find out seems like Colleen just did the 5 & 11 and someone else did the 6. So maybe they just gonna keep Colleen at 6 and just have Carolyn do the noon show, but hey right now it's all speculation at this point we don't really know where she's headed or what shows she's going to be anchoring. I forgot to mention when Lucy Noland was first hired at KNBC she was hired on to anchor at 6pm, she added noon anchoring duties when the noon show was launched.
  6.

Another rumor has her possibly landing at KNBC in LA.

What would she be doing at KNBC? Today in LA is pretty much covered, the noon show is covered (I've seen Michelle Valles co-anchoring at noon lately), Chuck & Colleen pretty much have the 5, 6 & 11pm shows covered. So that basically leaves the weekend morning shows. Is she perhaps going to co-anchor the morning show with Adrian? Or perhaps Adrian is going to give up the weekend Today in LA show, and just focus on the weekend evening newscasts. As of right now he co-anchors at 5 & 6pm on saturday nights in addition to doing the weekend Today in LA shows.
  7.

Maybe the teams for the new newscasts? (if they ever come to be)

Maybe KGO anchor Carolyn Johnson might be one of the new anchors for either the new 11 am show, or the weekend morning show? The PR did say she accepted an opportunity to be anchor outside of the San Francisco market, and well hey WPIX is looking for new anchors and New York is outside the San Francisco market. Now if she is indeed going to WPIX and anchoring on weekends it would be a drag to go from a weekday schedule to a weekend anchoring/weekday reporting schedule.
  8. In response to the twitter issue, why don't they do what WNBC does with their anchors/reporters on twitter. Example for WNBC would be @Shiba4NY, @Tom4NY, @Sibila4NY. So for WCBS it could be something like: @MaryCBSNY, @ChrisCBSNY, @KristineCBSNY and so on. I mean CBS2 personalities are also appearing on WLNY which is also part of WCBS so why not just make it simple.

  9.

They've still got Rob Schmidt anchoring just a half hour per day? Why even bother.

That's probably what he was hired to do, anchor at noon and report on the 5 & 6pm. On occasion I've seen him anchoring at 7pm and late last year/earlier this year filling in for Chuck at 6 & 11pm. This also isn't anything unique to WNBC several other stations are doing this as well. For example Peggy Bunker who is currently with NBC Bay area, only anchors for 30 minutes at 11am, however does field reporting for their early morning news program "Today in the Bay". I wouldn't be surprised if Rob added 6pm anchoring duties once Chuck retires in a few years. Plus they had to find room on the anchor desk for Rob when he was hired last year. Rather then having Rob co-anchor weekend TINY, and moving Contessa to weekend nights, they booted Tom off the noon show and put Rob there.
  10.

I guess Elizabeth got too tired handling all the newscasts. Did Dana King handle all newscasts or is this a replacement to her position?

I believe when Dana was still around Elizabeth anchored at 5 and reported for the 10 & 11. When Dana King retired, Elizabeth added 6, 10 & 11 PM anchoring duties. So basically Elizabeth is dropping the 6 & 10, and keeping the 11.
  11. In the far distant future when Bill retires it would more then likely be something like this:

    Mornings - same

    Noon - Same

    4 PM - Same

    5 PM - Same

    6 PM - Liz & Rob

    11 PM - Sade & Rob

Laura more then likely will takeover Rob, and someone else will do weekend sports. Lots of people have transitioned from say a sports anchor/reporter to a news anchor/reporter etc. Of course as long as Bill is able to he will continue to anchor the 6 & 11 PM news.

  12. Curious about something does anybody know why Today in NY, the noon, 5 & 11 PM shows no longer have the same opens as the 6 & 7 PM shows. And what I mean is the 6 and 7 PM shows have the "Live from studio 3C in Rockefeller Center this is News 4 NY" while Today in NY, the noon, 5 & 11 PM shows just have the anchors announcing what's coming up a bit of music playing and saying "News 4 NY at 5 starts right now" blah blah blah.

  13. I missed the 6 PM last night, however I did catch the 11 PM and that was the first time I saw Rob fill-in anchoring on the 11 instead of just the 4 PM and I can get used to that (If indeed Rob is the one to replace Bill when he retires)...The whole team was great last night

  14.

Ok, there are a lot of red flags going off right now. Rob is co anchoring with Liz at 6pm right now and Laura is doing sports. This never happens. Bill or Liz usually solo when the other is out. Very, VERY odd. Could this be in prep for Bill retiring, could this be because NBC 4 doesn't solo at 6 anymore? Either way, very odd.

Maybe Rob is prepping to take Bill's place (as you mentioned) when Bill retires and Laura is going to take Rob's place? BTW you mentioned that Rob was anchoring at 6 did he also at 11 with Sade or did Sade just anchor solo?
  15. I didn't wanna start a new thread about this, but I'm just wondering is Harry Cicma moving more towards general assignment reporting at WNBC? Because I haven't really seen him doing sports on the weekends; rather I've seen John Chandler someone or other do the sports segments on the weekends. So just curious are they gonna make John the main weekend sports person? and just have Harry do general reporting? Btw I think Harry does good when he does general reporting.
