So it been stated that Martha going over to rival WFTV/Channel 9. So what would her job be at WFTV? Martie and Vanessa do the evening shows, so where would they place her at? Does anybody think Vanessa or Martie's days number at WFTV? Remember when they push Marla Weech off for Martie Salt? Could this be the same storyline for Channel 9???

I'm not sure, but Martha still has another 8 months left before she appears on air so we'll see what happens.

David Ushery has just confirmed on his facebook that he will be anchoring daily at 5:30 with Shiba...Rob Schmitt to anchor weekend evenings...Didn't mention if he's also anchoring at Noon.

From what I can tell WNBC is doing what they did in the past of having 1 primary noon anchor (Shiba) and having 2 others split the noon duties while also working the weekend shift.

I think at the time he anchored weekend mornings was during the era where CBS3 had cut Saturday mornings. He may have left before Saturday mornings returned. As for filling in, he's filled in for Ukee weekday mornings and also for Natasha on weekend evenings. Regardless of what you "found", I live in the Philly DMA and have seen it with my own eyes.

Good for you  And I found my info from the CBS philly website itself wasn't that hard to do.
  4.

He was actually a anchor/reporter in Philly. He anchored weekend mornings and was a fill-in on weekday mornings.

From what I found seems he only anchored on Sunday Mornings and reported the rest of the time.
  5. I'm sure in due time we'll see Ben anchoring the evening news. And would a station in the #1 market really hire someone who was a street reporter in Philadelphia to anchoring a prime time newscast? I think WNYW played it safe by placing him in the mornings before promoting him to evenings (That's if he actually stays around long enough to find out)

I've been saying that too. I would do a complete overhaul. I would bring in Josh, Hoda, and even Dylan Dryer. I think thats a winning team and change the structure of the show a bit since they have been using the same formula for a while now.

Agree with everyone but Josh. He was good starting out at GMA, but as the years went on and near the end he seemed to have an arrogant attitude about him. I would rather have Lester replace Matt before Josh he can stay at NBC sports.

Has Carson already been the de facto 5th member of the team at 10 and slipping right in, or is she being moved there with Ward's cutback?

I Believe Ilona has been part of the 10 pm shows ever since She and Erik started anchoring the 6:30 shows.

I wonder what is going on in the David Ushery camp... He has been off on weekends for a little while, and his Debrief show just ended. Could the mean he is in line for a promotion or is he heading out the door? I hope it is not the latter. Anyone have any insight on the scene over there at WNBC?

He could be the permanent co-anchor of the 2nd half of the 5 pm show alongside Shiba Russell. He has been working that shift pretty much ever since Tom left for ABC News.
  9.

WCBS' roster seems to be small for the largest DMA, is the weekend crew both responsible for doing morning and evening newscasts?

I believe up here WBZ has morning and evening crews for weekends.

For the longest time Cindy was doing both the weekend morning and weekend evening shows. Now Cindy just does weekend evenings, while Diane & Andrea do weekend mornings. Dick was doing both weekend morning and evenings I believe for a bit before he got the 9 pm weeknight slot on WLNY.

and then where does this put David? I like David at 4, and he has pretty good chemistry with Liz and Lee. When it comes to news anchoring, I'd take David over Rob any day (no offense to Rob, I still think he's a fantastic sports anchor).

They can demote him to a reporter/fill-in anchor. I tried several times to watch the 4 with David anchoring but can't watch him idk what is. I'm sure he's a nice guy and all but idk just watch an entire show with him anchoring. As for the idea I had for Rob anchoring the 4 that was if David left or got demoted.

Just watched News 4 @ 5 and was kind of confused. I turned on the tv and saw Shiba doing a stand up about ISIS. Then at the end of the piece she tossed it back to Sibila and Chuck. Why wouldn't they have Shiba host the News @ 5 if she's there?

Apparently it's something new that just started this week. Rather then just having Shiba & Chuck anchor the entire 5 pm hour, They decide to split the newcast in half with Sibila & Chuck anchoring the first half and then Shiba & so far David anchoring the second half...lame if you ask me. Personally I hope it's just a placeholder until WNBC decides on a permanent replacement for Tom be it someone hired from the outside, or a promotion from within at which point Shiba & Tom's replacement will most likely anchor the entire 5 pm hour.
  12. Did you guys see this tweet? https://twitter.com/RobinRoberts/status/506935160072585216

    What is Robin Roberts announcing?

    - A new talk show? This has been rumored for a while and she's denied it in the past. Maybe she replaces Katie Couric and is paired up with Tyra Banks' new TV show which is launching in 2015? ABC stealing NBC's daytime strategy of pairing stars together (Vieira, Harvey and Ellen)?

    - An inspirational television show or a game show on cable which is taped and aired at a later date?

    - The new host of "America's Funniest Home Videos"?

    - A judge on "Dancing with the Stars"?

    - A new inspirational website/YouTube channel which is powered by Disney's newest acquisition, Maker Studios? Maybe Disney acquires Soul Pancake and makes Robin Roberts the face of the YouTube channel?

    - Castmate on "The View"? She'll bring her feel-good personality to the show and make Rosie more likable? It'll be difficult for her to participate in political discussions since she anchors "GMA" but she would be a good fit.

    - A stint with ESPN on the side? She hosted a ESPNW web show last year so maybe that show expands to television and maybe she gets to do SportsCenter sometimes?

She's launching her own production company:
