I think this seems like the more likely scenario. Perhaps Maureen will join him at 4pm? I believe I read that he would be joining Maureen, Leon, and Alison, so it doesn't seem like Leon's going anywhere.
I thought they might have been testing out Scott Thuman for the job as he had anchored at 4pm recently a few times.

According to this article it appears Jonathan is heading to WJLA as the top evening news anchor. Could it mean he's replacing Leon on the 5 & 11 pm shows, and Leon will continue at 4 and join Maureen at 6? And as you said perhaps Maureen adding 4 pm anchor duties.

I read that too, but I was under the impression Contessa gave up her MSNBC live gig to be an WNBC anchor, but was still continuing to do caught on camera.Just read this about Contessa Brewer from TV Spy, it appears like she's still with WNBC based on this article, just adding MSNBC to her workload on weekend evenings.

Not sure perhaps splitting the evening shift? Or maybe Leon is going to the 24 hour network?"Main anchor". What happens to Leon Harris?
WBZ is totally screwed for a replacement when they have nobody ready to promote but foresight isn't their strong suit.
I'm sure Jonathan would've stayed had he not been pulled from the 11 pm newscast. He has a clause in his contract which states he can leave WBZ early if he is pulled from the 11 pm newscast which happened last August. I actually thought Paula & David would do the 5 pm in addition to the 10 pm, while Jonathan would slide from the 5 pm show to the 6 pm and continue to anchor the 11 pm show.

Jonathan Elias 6 & 10 pm anchor at CBS owned WBZ headed to WJLA as main anchor:

Well apparently Kerry has been hired as a "breaking news anchor" for the weekday versions of TINY. But as you said I wouldn't be surprised to see Kerry co-anchor the weekend morning newscasts alongside Pat. Wanted to also add Gus was on the weekend morning desk last weekend and both times he never said "I'm Gus Rosendale in for Contessa this morning" It was just "I'm Gus Rosendale" and then onto the first story.Just clicked on the link directly and it said the page doesn't exist so they did take it down... Not sure what to make of this but if it is true that she left, don't be surprised to see either Gus Rosendale or newly hired Kerry Barrett take that spot.

Contessa Brewer no longer with WNBC? Was scanning the "About Us" section at nbcnewyork.com and Contessa is no longer listed on the staff bio page.
http://www.nbcnewyork.com/contact-us/about-us/
scanned at least 3 times and don't see her. (Unless they are updating the page) then I am wrong.

I think the 7 pm newscasts are great for people who get home too late from work to watch the news at 5 & 6, but don't want to wait up until 11 to watch the 11 pm news. Also didn't most of those O&Os drop the 7pm shows a few years ago after (insert state here) Non-stop changed to COZI-TV?For some reason I don't foresee the 7pm lasting too long. All the other O&Os that had 7PMs seem to have dropped them.
The "Breaking News Anchor" seems to be like WRC's "LiveDesk" or WCAU's "Sat Center".
Well then that makes sense.

Looks like Kerry Barrett will be a "Breaking News" anchor for Today in NY:
http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2015/3/1/changing-channels
Don't know why WNBC felt the need to have her be a "Breaking News" anchor for the morning program why not have her be a street reporter? Or have her replace Contessa on the weekend mornings and give Contessa the 7 pm slot full time on the weekdays?
-
We'll find out soon enough whatever her assignment is I know she'll be great. She's the 2nd deflector from WXTF to join the NBC family although Sheinelle went national and Kerry is staying local.Whatever it is she starts tomorrow.

I posted something similar in the FOX29 thread. According to her twitter bio it says "Purveyor of morning news WNBC" whatever that means. I'm wondering if she's going to be a morning reporter I know Darlene has no plans of stepping down as anchor of "Today in NY" on the weekdays. Or maybe perhaps she's replacing Contessa on the weekend morning "Today in NY" so Contessa can focus solely on the weeknight 7 pm newscasts (Just a thought of course).Kerry Barrett, who was an anchor on Good Day on Fox 29 in Philly until this past December is joining WNBC soon...Not sure of her exact position but you can follow her here... https://mobile.twitter.com/Kerry4NY

In seattle the ABC affiliate airs it's midday newscasts at 11am ala KABC in LA, while the others stations air it at noon. The chew airs at noon with GH airing at 1 and so on. Live with Kelly and Michael is at 9 am and The View follows after at 10. If the view gets cancelled I could see something like this:
7 - 9am GMA
9 - 10 Live with Kelly & Michael
10 - 11 The Chew
11 - 12 Local News
12 - 1 GAA.
1 - 3 soaps
3 - 4 Steve Harvey
4 - 5:30 local news
5:30 - 6 World News Tonight
6 - 7 local news
...and so on

Time put in really means nothing to stations. Look at WNBC ever since Shiba was pulled from the 11 pm newscast, she's the primary fill-in for Sibila on the evening newscasts and Shiba has been there less years then Pat. Meanwhile Pat is hardly ever used as an weeknight anchor fill-in, but is used as a morning fill-in.I know you are a bit of an expert of sorts... so here goes my question for you... Do you really think so?
I mean, I didn't realize this on Friday when I posted, Christina Park was off this weekend (so she was probably off Friday as well)... and it appears as though her set days off are always Monday and Tuesday (as she can't anchor M-F and her regular weekend. So is it that Alison is really taking over as the primary fill in, do you think?
I really hope not.... Christina is much better and she deserves it based on time put it (not to mention talent)
-
Wasn't she one of the main anchors at the FOX station in CT? If so I'm wondering if that's why they are having her being one of the main fill-ins when one of the regulars is off.I agree it is a bit awkward, but they do definitely make it work. I didn't realize Anna Gilligan had one until you said it and I went back and watch it!
However, what I find the most awkward is how they allow Alison Morris to fill in... I just do not get it. I had to turn the news off last night.
-
Just wanted to point this out, but has anyone noticed that WNBC still hasn't added Stacey's bio to the website even though she's been at the station almost a year now, yet When Sibila joined the station or when Tom left they were pretty quick to add/remove their bios....nothing big just thought it's kinda odd.
-
Hopefully this article is incorrect as I thought Hosea was just transferring to evenings and not actually leaving the station:

Now I'm sure i've seen each of them anchoring at 4 before; just wasn't too sure if both of them had anchored the 4 together at the same time. No, I don't think it's the first time.
-
Sade & Bill are anchoring at 4 today. Is this the first time the 11 pm anchors have anchored the 4 pm newscast?

Stefan Chase has joined WNCN as morning co-anchor:

Monique has been anchoring the 5 pm newscasts since June. And your correct a matter time before Angela was out the door. She is saying it's to spend more time with her 2 young daughters/pursue her passion for writing; others are saying she's being pushed out.Yes, sadly, Angela Russell never really caught on in Seattle. During a visit at Thanksgiving, I noted that they had added Monique Ming Laven to the early evening newscasts -- so this move was just a matter of time.
-
Dave Ward longtime anchor at KTRK has signed off for the final time last night as co-anchor of the 10 pm newscast after 48 years:
http://abc13.com/technology/dave-ward-signs-off-eyewitness-news-at-10/448382/
He will continue to anchor the 6 pm newscast, and will still appear on the 10 pm newscasts occasionally.

With the announcement of Karen Borta moving to mornings at KTVT, looks like Adrienne Bankert will be leaving the station December 31st:
