  1. The ratings will tank if Chris is brought back to evenings. If that does happen I suppose Cindy Hsu can take his place in the mornings. She should have a weekday spot.

Don't think WCBS would want 2 females anchoring mornings and besides would Cindy even want to anchor mornings again after anchoring mornings for several years?

  2. I've mentioned in my article that Connolly and Walker will report during the morning news on WESH from 4:30-7:00am which currently has Jason Guy and Michelle Imperato.

So basically its the following and The Orlando Sentinel has it down packed:

    • 4:30-7:00am: Jason Guy and Michelle Imperato
    • 7:00-9:00am: Brett Connolly and Jazmin Walker
    • 12:00-12:30pm: The Orlando Sentinel didn't mention it.
    • 4:00-5:00pm: Meredith McDonough and Summer Knowles
    • 5:00-5:30pm: Jim Payne and Angela Taylor
    • 5:30-6:00pm: Stewart Moore and Angela Taylor
    • 6:00-6:30pm: Jim Payne and Meredith McDonough
    • 10:00-11:00pm: Stewart Moore and Angela Taylor
    • 11:00-11:35pm: Jim Payne and Meredith McDonough
    • Weekends from 5:00-8:00am: TBD as WESH 2 will determine that later.
    • Weekends at 6:00, 10:00 and 11:00pm: Adrian Whitsett will be solo now.

If Jason & Michelle anchor the noon show now more then likely they will continue to anchor it.

  3. Speaking of WESH:

Brett Connolly moves from 5 & 10 pm to 7-9am on WKCF.

Jim Payne moves off the 4 pm to the first half hour of the 5 (remains at 6 & 11 pm)

Stewart Moore moves from mornings to the 2nd half hour of the 5 pm and the expanded 10 pm on WKCF.

Summer Knowles moves from weekend evenings to 4 pm and Jazmin Walker moves from weekend mornings to weekday mornings 7-9a WKCF unsure if Connolly/Walker will participate in the early morning news cast on WESH. Meredith McDonough & Angela Taylor remain in their respective time slots.

  4. Or if they want to give Chuck and Vargas more time give them the entire 5pm and give the 6pm to Ushery/Russell. Anyway, this may all change if the rumored 4pm comes to fruition.

If the 4 pm newscast actually does happen I see Chuck & Sibila anchoring at 4, 6 & 11 that's 95 minutes of air time. Besides don't think they want to move Chuck & Sibila off the 6 pm. Shiba and David more then likely would get the entire 5 pm hour.

  5. I don't think Liz is going anywhere. This job is too good -- anchoring the 4 and 6 means she's with her daughter in the morning and the evening. Plus, she's in DMA 1. Let's not assume Josh's career is more important than hers.

If Josh were to join FS1, I imagine he'd work out a deal that either has him anchoring from a studio in NY or has him as a correspondent traveling for major sporting events.

And lets not assume that working in the number 1 market is more important then family. If Josh does end up in LA I can see Liz moving there too but not right away. There have been several people who have worked in some of the top markets but moved to smaller markets for family and LA is market 2 so not that big of a difference.

  6. I doubt PIX11 is going to replace or demote Tamsen. John is definitely worthy of the main anchor gig. I am actually surprised that he left ABC News to come back to PIX11. It seemed like he was becoming a rising star there, even filling in on GMA. Perhaps if Kaity/Brenda goes well, they could do 11am news together too. I think Jay Dow is definitely in line to get the weekend gig (maybe with Narmeen Choudhury), and Dan Mannarino (Joe Cioffi weather too) if they ever expand to weekend mornings. I like Joe Mauceri on sports (maybe he can handle weekends). Not a big fan of Scott Stanford or the SportsDesk block.

What makes you think they won't demote Tamsen? They've already demoted Kaity in the past and played Anchor roulette with Dan Mannarino no reason they won't do the same with Tamsen.

  7. He was a non-starter from the beginning. I remember on his first day he ended his report with the tag from his previous station. Good luck to him, but it was a fluke that he ever made it to NY in the first place!

Why was it a fluke that he was hired as a reporter at WNBC?

What's the criteria for someone that works at a station in NYC?

Does someone need to be 40+ years old?

Do they need to have 20+ years experience in small no ones ever heard of towns?

  8. i see but notice how the posting is Reporter/Anchor and i also crossed checked the posting on the disney site and wasn't Lisa's position reporter/Anchor?

And that's exactly what Shirleen was hired as Anchor/Reporter noon anchor & reporter for the 4, 5 & 6pm newscasts.

  9. also wabc is still looking for the reporter/anchor position either they don't want to fill it yet or having a hardtime finding someone

I wouldn't read too much into it. Mornings are covered with Lori & Ken, Noon is covered with Shirleen & David, 4 is covered with Liz & David, 5 is covered with Sade & Diana, 6 is covered with Liz & Bill, 11 is covered with Sade & Bill. Weekend mornings are covered with Michelle & Rob, weekend evenings are covered with Sandra & Joe. More then likely WABC hasn't removed the job posting after hiring Shirleen as anchor/reporter (anchor noon, report 4, 5 & 6).

  10. I saw this coming. Natasha subbed for Ama last week, so I knew they were going to find her a spot. Makes sense to promote Sze since she didn't get the top job when Carolyn left for WNBC. Reggie was anchoring evenings in Portland, so I figured he was going to get an anchor position. I wonder who will anchor at 11am? Also, what happens to the person Eric is replacing on weekend (is it Alan?)?

Kristen will continue to anchor at 11am in addition to 5pm. I can see either Natasha or Reggie co-anchoring with Kristen at 11am. No clue what will happen with Alan. Oh and minor correction Carolyn joined KNBC not WNBC.

  11. Had a feeling this would happen. After being denied the top job, AGAIN, she knew she didn't like what management did there and just couldn't take it anymore. The result... resignation. If you ask me, if WFOR 4 really did the right thing, then they would've had Cynthia and Rick at 5 and 11pm. Cynthia was there since 2007, longer than both Lauren Pastrana (2012) and Rudabeh Shahbazi (August 2015) and even Rick Folbaum (2014). But I now I know why they have such exodus at the station, when it comes to talent.

CBS 4 News... Where The News is Rated Last.

Seniority has nothing to weather someone gets a main anchor spot or not. Lots of stations bring in talent from elsewhere to be main anchors while overlooking people who have been with said station for years longer. A couple of examples in Seattle NBC station KING hired Amanda Grace to co-anchor the 4 & 9 pm newscasts instead of promoting within. WNBC in NYC hired Sibila Vargas to be main anchor rather then keeping Shiba Russell or promoting Pat Battle to that spot.
