Jason Austell, longtime AM anchor at KNSD NBC7 is moving over to XETV CW6 as the 4/10pm anchor.
http://www.sandiegoradio.org/2016/06/longtime-news-anchor-switching-stations.html
Not sure why he would leave KNSD for a sinking ship at XETV, but it is what it is. He starts CW6 on July 11th. Curious to see who NBC replaces him with.
My guess is he probably wanted to work later hours.

Congrats to Savannah and I agree, just waiting for the day until Matt and Al are out of there. The just remind me of the bad culture that was permeated at NBC which lead to Ann's firing.
This lady jumps on more networks then most pro-athletes who jump on different teams. It's is pretty sad how she keeps jumping around like that and she never paid her dues to get these jobs. Being on HLN I don't think she should consider promotion it is not a upward mobility to a good career, this seems like a waste of time for HLN which is stagnating in the ratings. They should change their program into Court TV instead of creating a CNN II which people won't watch unless they do a second Jody Arias trial. If the ratings don't come in which network can she go to now.
Seriously what is your issue with Erica? And what do you mean she never paid her dues?

Is Kathy Orr basically the Chief Meteorologist? She does the 5 & 10pm news and she will also be doing the 11pm show once it starts. Then Scott Williams just does the 6pm Newscast
My guess is yes, but I thought Scott was leaving.

I was thinking that too, but usually when the giants in Atlanta retire they try to stay in the market. Monica Kaufman (Pearson)- Jovita Moore. Amanda Davis -Cynne Simpson she had worked at rival station. Brenda Wood I totally seeing TEGNA trying to get Jaquitta Williams who worked at two other stations in the market.
I think the current news director at WXIA worked with Williams at WSB. However anything is possible, and WXIA/ with TEGNA plays fast and loose. The Atlanta market, they like familiarity and most of all the talent in that market have either stayed at the same shop or jump around, but for the top 10 market it not like NYC, LA, or Chicago.
I don't see that. I see Stephany Fisher anchoring the 5pm &11pm and Cynne at 6 &10PM, but I wouldn't be surprise if FOX 5 move into the 4:00PM real estate with news. There several changes they can continue to make. Russ Spencer been with WAGA for 20 years and FOX is looking at makes cuts too. Ken Rodriguez would be Russ' replacement one day. Ken can move into anchor role, and move Ron Gant off Good Day into evening sports. Tom Haynes move him up to Good Day.
Why should Stefany do 5 & 11 as opposed to Cynne? It would make more sense to have Stefany do 6 & 10 pm with Russ and in the future Ken while keeping Tom & Cynne paired together at 5 and Cynne adding 11 pm tho it seems the 11 pm has been a solo-anchor show since it launched and if it remains so then I see Cynne being moved off the 10 pm for Stefany but for all we know Stefany could be Lisa Rayam's replacement at noon & 6 pm.
Possible Pairings/schedules:
Cynne & Tom 5 & 11pm
Stefany & Russ/Ken 6 & 10 pm
Cynne & Tom 5
Tom 11 pm
Stefany noon
Stefany & Russ 6 pm.
And yes I know Stefany anchored 5 & 11 pm as well as 4 & 6 pm at WGCL but that doesnt necessarily mean she would get the same schedule at WAGA.
-
Meanwhile, over at Fox 5...
Portia Bruner has succeeded Gurvir Dhindsa on Good Day Atlanta and is groomed to replace Lisa Rayam at noon; also, they've been remodeling their newsroom and temporarily operating from another area in the studio.
In other words...they really want to get everything ready for Stephany Fisher (which will probably be by fall)!
Stefany will most likely do 6 & 10 pm with Russ Spencer. Cynne will continue at 5 pm drop the 10 pm and join her 5 pm co-anchor Tom Haynes at 11 pm. This is of course if Stefany is actually joining the station.

Well its official Rob Powers is heading back home to Cleveland:
http://www.newsnet5.com/about-us/newschannel-5-welcomes-anchor-rob-powers-back-home-to-cleveland
-
My guess is they gave Rob the 4 pm since he anchored 4:30 at WMAQ. Most likely he'll also report for the other evening newscasts.
-
Just give the 5 pm to Denise and call it good.
-
So she's moving to WSCV Telemundo 51? Because I know she does weekend evening weather there and can speak Spanish fluently.
I have no clue just knew this new girl is replacing her since the PR stated she was hired as weekend morning meteorologist for WTVJ.
-
Who is she replacing?
Erika Delgado.

Before Greg Copeland went to evenings he was anchoring mornings on NWCN and reporting for KING 5. After Rob Piercy left Greg assumed the 9 pm anchor position and added 4 pm duties in 2014. Now he's back to mornings.
-
Well KING 5s anchor swap is set:
Greg Copeland moves from 4, 7 (NWCN) & 9 to morning's
Mark Wright moves from mornings to evenings at 5, 6:30, 7, 10 & 11.,
Haven't seen anything but assume Danielle Leigh gets Greg's evening slot.
-
I know they aren't selling them.
And, I watched an open of the KING 5 News on KONG at 9 Open from 2014. Greg Copeland was anchoring. I actually think he wouldn't be too bad to anchor the news at 5 in place of Dennis. If that were to happen, they could put Danielle at 4.
Danielle was anchoring at 4 & 9 while Amanda was out on maternity leave even after Amanda returned Danielle still hasn't anchored on the weekends it's been Sula Kim solo. So I wouldn't be surprised If Danielle does get the 4 & 9 pm spot permanently.

I wonder if anybody from other Seattle stations will come to KING. Marni Hughes from Q13FOX would do well in the early evening newscasts.
Doubtful they are definitely going to hire someone from outside the Seattle area to fill the left over anchor chair a result of the shuffling.

She's currently anchoring the 9 am hour.
Also does anyone know why Stephanie would be sitting in Sheneille's chair and not the main anchor chair (Kate Snow was) even tho Stephanie is main CO-anchor
