Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think WPIX showed the 7 day forecast on the 10PM show tonight. Talk about bad.

Andy Adler on again tonight, but this time she's reporting in studio about social media response to the snow. I won't be annoying and post every time she's on...but I can assume that this is permanent.

WCBS is actually streaming their special 4:00 edition of CBS 2 News. Let's hope they do this more often.

WCBS will be on at 4AM tomorrow for storm coverage. Not sure about WABC or WNBC (WPIX normally starts at 4AM, and I can tell you right now that WNYW will not be starting early, they never do).

Andy was on again tonight. The fact that she's on for more than one night leads me to think that PIX11 has plans for her at the station. We'll just have to see what happens and see what tricks WPIX has up it's sleeves...

PIX 11 had sports reporter Andy Adler on tonight during their "countdown to kickoff" coverage. Has she joined the station permanently? I was assuming this was just for tonight, but I'm not quite sure.

WLNY is a sister station to CBS, so I would expect WLNY to carry on with their regular newscasts. There's no point in running the state of the union address on both stations from the same outlet. However, WPIX is their own outlet. Yeah, they probably won't get many viewers, but at least they should make the effort to try.

you mean to say WPIX isn't covering the state of the union? that's horrible. They really need to get their act together. This is a million times more important than their "countdown to kickoff superbowl coverage" thing. Just when I thought they were slightly improving and covering important breaking stories, they don't carry this. Wow. And they even carried Chris Christies state of the state speech. No wonder when I went on the website, I didn't see any live bug or Lower 3rd on their online livestream. This is just a step in the wrong direction...

I just have a question about the state of the union address. I know it doesn't belong here, but I didn't want to create a new thread over it. Will the coverage be local or national? I'm assuming national, but wasn't sure. (I know WPIX will be local and just maybe WNYW).

WCBS changed their twitter handles. I guess they got the message that "LastnameWCBSWLNY" was too long. It's now "LastNametv". Much shorter. However, if they wanted to change their handles, they should of still identified the station it it. I would of done something like "Gainer2" or "Gainer21055". I know they want to identify both stations, but it's better than "WCBSWLNY".

I'm pretty sure that after Mark Effron thought about that he realized that if WPIX wanted to bring in viewers, they had to do news from all over the tri-state area. WPIX seems to be trying everything, going from one extreme (covering no news outside the city) to the other (covering news all over that some of us don't even care about). They seem to be trying everything possible, but nothing's working. I still think they do have a chance of rebounding their ratings if they advertise more, and debut a new look, set, music, change the talent around, etc. However, everything was really lost from the Bill Carey era when he got rid of Kaity and Jim. And according to Tuned In, WPIX is back in the news, and once again for a very bad reason. A threatening letter was sent to the talent and producers. Is WPIX the only station in NY covering Chris Christie's "State of the State" address? They seem to be the only station breaking for a special report.

I have seen her on there all of last year, but only on weekends. She seems to be a weekday traffic reporter fill-in and a weekend reporter. I think she adds a nice touch to PIX 11's team of reporters.

According to his twitter account, Lonnie Quinn was called back early from his vacation so he can be back tomorrow night at 11:00. Just asking, do you think his sleeves will be rolled up? I'm not sure on this one. Also I have to give credit to Elise Finch. She's been working around the clock from morning to night covering the snow and cold temps.

I completely agree with you. I watch them often on the news at 9, and they have excellent chemistry. In the beginning i'll admit I wasn't crazy about the idea of pairing them together, but they seem to get along really well. Now I almost like them better than Kristine and Maurice.

John Marshall was subbing for Vanessa today. I can see him being a member of the weather team until Vanessa comes back.

Is it just my computer or is WCBS the only station in NY that does not stream their newscasts online? I mean, they do have 2 live streams, but it always says "live stream is unavailable" during all of their newscasts.
