  1. WDEF had a dude that was from Ireland (I think). Don't know if he anchored much though.
  2. Well, they're gonna have to sell at least 15 markets. If they still wanna be a company at all.
  3. I understand Sinclair wants to hoard as many stations as possible but WUTV and WPGH are two stations I could easily see being sold off. In the words of a certain meme, Get somebody else to do it. They need to sell certain stations while they're ahead. Selling KBSI isn't enough. Some more markets have to go.
  4. They probably would have sold it but "Community News Media" or whichever of the ten million interrelated dumb company names they'll use that all lead back to you know who they are, have other things they have to deal with. All this cutting they're doing and the only thing they were willing to give up was KBSI. Honestly, WPMI, as well as WPGH, WHP, WXLV, KDSM, everything in Oklahoma and Arkansas, and WUTV would have been the NEXT stations I'd have sent off elsewhere.
  5. Okay but a vast number of CBS stations and indeed a number of stations owned by Gray in general don't brand with the network. As long as Gray keeps paying those checks for reverse comp, WANF should be fine.
  6. Yo, what exactly has Gray Television done that would provoke CBS to leave WANF?? Everyone keeps saying this. I don't get it. If CBS wanted to move to 69, they'd have done so back in 2006 or a long time ago. There is a reason why they sold 69 only to regain it coincidentally just after merging with Viacom. If things went South with the CW, they'll just either run an independent, do something else we don't expect them to do with 69 or sell 69 into a duopoly with one of the other stations and MAYBE get something back. But I don't even see any reason why they'd dump the CW as long as they still have that small ownership stake. Otherwise, they'd have dumped the full 100 in Nexstar's lap. To say nothing of just how badly Gray could screw CBS up if CBS really tried to pull its programming from 46. Remember, there are many more CBS stations owned by Gray. By this logic, WTTV should still be the CW affiliate and WBXI should be CBS.
  7. In a minute, Imma need a satellite or sister station to back me up lol.
  8. The woman is (or was) married to a err.....criminal (won't say what he did here...Google is your friend) and somehow, this is what broke the camel's back. Not saying that anyone in the media should be bringing their beliefs into local news but her stance would be a bit ironic. That's all I have to say about that.
  9. They didn't air very much of the News Daily and I watched the whole block. Maybe KTAL went way over on the local cut ins or something.
  10. KTAL has apparently launched something similar to what the CBS O&Os are doing on their CW partners. It's some sort of 1pm Newscast. Idk if this is permanent or what. Brittany Defran is the anchor.
  11. I watched it before and I never saw any CBS/KSLA shows on there during the time when it supposedly was. They were running the same infomercials.
  12. I see Telemundo is now live here in Shreveport.
  13. The channels on Pluto TV, which is FREE look better than channels they want you to pay 150 bucks for with the cable subscription. That in itself says a whole lot.....unless that was the goal in the first place.
  14. Just watch as KAZA takes all of their syndicated programming and that newscast.
  15. I'm in Shreveport and just now noticing Gray bought KBXS as well.....I always thought Gray would try to get a station here to be an independent but now, I'm having 2nd thoughts. Ironically enough, Gray also has WBXH which years ago was also owned by L4.
  16. Weekend morning to clarify.
  17. I'm in this DMA and you're sure not lying. I didn't even know this station existed before today.
  18. It's not like WSMV hasn't tried to go into the Spanish business before so this would be possible.... especially with NBC's fraternal Spanish-language twin.
  19. I'd say Sharon Ko would take her spot. I notice she left the noon newscast but she also does 6pm as well.
  20. She just always finds herself a new gig somehow, doesn't she?
  21. Alright, WTKR/WGNT! That sounds much more like them.
  22. He must be having a hard time finding someone to carry those scripted court shows. On some real stuff, I'd rather see a station carry those than be a dumping ground for infomercials. And besides, everyone else has multiple stations in Hawaii so why not? Now if RNN would sell everything else, or at least the stations that could be reasonable duopoly bait and provide a second outlet for news and syndicated shows.
  23. CBS Afternoon News.....only available in the Bay Area.
  24. Nexstar really has come a long way from where they've started. Kudos to them.
  25. That was MG/Lin, not MG/Nexstar. Hearst should have taken WJAR, honestly.
