It seems like KNPG-LD would move to Channel 21 from Channel 30 and that Channel 30 could get the KBJO-LD call letters, unless if those change too. The way I read this is NBC on 21.1 and The CW on 21.2, but that could be changed.

Yep... the 10:00pm news is just moving up two hours earlier to 8:00pm.

And they're gonna have more once it becomes an Independent in less than a month.

The only permanent weekend news pairing I've ever known and watched at WGN Television, Robert Jordan and Jackie Bange, is about to be broken up. Robert Jordan plans to retire after 43 years with WGN-TV next month, September 25th. http://www.robertfeder.com/2016/08/14/wgns-robert-jordan-to-retire-with-profound-gratitude/

When will that happen? I need the deets!

Go to the "Local News on Roku" thread in the "Breakroom" section. I've been posting news about stations joining NewsON and stations creating their own Roku channel. The latest add was like 15 stations from Sinclair including 5 new cities.

1) I will provide more information when available on my blog, ASAP. 2) Now we know where KVLY 11 will broadcast either CBS or CW programming on.

Actually, its Makenzi Henderson who will anchor it starting September 5th. Until then, Seth Kovar will anchor alone. Source from, of course, FTVLive: http://www.ftvlive.com/todays-news/2016/8/5/texas-anchor-to-leave-late-newscast

But without FTVLive, then who would've guessed that Sinclair would take WSJV's FOX and make it a part of its own? He was right on that front all along.

Or take their MyTV and put it there.

I've been slowly but surely moving my national news presence to NPR. They are GOOD. If I had to rely on a broadcast outlet, it would be CBS. None from cable for me, thanks.

Something that I first learned back in April and reported on my blog back when WTGS was starting a news operation. I learned this from Broadcasting and Cable:

In other words, the Macon market is no good unless if your at 13WMAZ.

Michael Smith is now at WIAT 42 (CBS) in Birmingham - Tuscaloosa - Anniston.

Shouldn't this be in the 2000-present video thread? After all, this one is pre-2000.

UTV Ireland will soon have a new owner... AGAIN. It went from UTV to ITV earlier this year and now its being sold to Liberty Global through Virgin Media. This will put UTV Ireland together with TV3, whom Liberty Global currently owns and took over TV3 earlier last year. http://www.a516digital.com/2016/07/virgin-media-buys-utv-ireland-secures.html

Monday Night Football for the Green Bay Packers are heading to WLUK FOX 11. If the Packers don't play in the Wild Card game this season, this would mark the first season in 63 years (since inception) that WBAY 2 has not carried at least one Packer Game in a season. http://fox11online.com/sports/packers-and-nfl/fox-11-to-air-hall-of-fame-game-packers-mnf-games

No problemo.

After seeing all threads started for different news about TV news or something else in Canada and for various countries, I thought of starting an international version of TVNT's popular "Out and About" thread and I wanna kick it off. First up on this thread, Global's "16x9" has been cancelled by Corus. Liza Fromer has been let go and Carolyn Jarvis (16x9 host) becomes Chief Investigative Correspondent for Global News. http://www.broadcastermagazine.com/acquisition/corus-cancels-globals-16x9/1004123322/

Not just that, a new one-hour newscast at 4:00pm on the station's 64th birthday, July 18th. Signed on-air July 18th, 1952.

KWKT 44 is putting its news department plans on hold. They are still going with those plans, but look for the news department now to be launched by the beginning of next year. KWKT 44 told me this on Facebook.
