  1. Ellen Bacca is the new Chief Meteorologist for Nexstar's WOOD-TV in Grand Rapids, MI. Bill Steffen is now "Chief Meteorologist Emeritus " https://www.woodtv.com/about-us/ellen-bacca-named-first-female-chief-meteorologist-in-west-michigan/
  2. WOOD-TV reporter Barton Deiters has passed after a difficult battle with West Nile Virus https://www.woodtv.com/news/remembering-barton-deiters-1965-2021/
  3. Yes WXMI was hubbed with WXIN/WTTV until the switch to Scripps
  4. Looks a lot like Nexstar's WIVB -- even the weather branding
  5. That's what I meant lol.. fixed... thank you
  6. Meteorologist Laura Velasquez is coming back home to Grand Rapids, MI as a meteorologist for WXMI -- she's taking over for Ty Shesky who is leaving the business... She previously worked for WOOD, then KDVR, then AccuWeather https://twitter.com/FOX17/status/1357822561032105984?s=20
  7. Noticed WSYM is using the meteorologists from sister station WXMI in Grand Rapids until they get the news department up and going...
  8. so many incomplete packages... if you're going to change one aspect of the packages, change all the damn parts... old and new NEVER mix and looks tacky as hell
  9. I'm glad... Lansing is big enough for them to support.. no need for outsourcing the news from WILX... Excited to see how this turns out
  10. WBNS is launching TEGNA website/mobile app next week... No mention on WTHR's site that I saw.. Here is the link
  11. I'm surprised they kept the Raycom weather graphics
  12. Go to the maps & radar section of the weather page... all the maps except the 7-day are tegna-fied
  13. I am assuming that WQAD is next to be TEGNA-fied... Looking on their website tonight, even though on air, they have Tribune graphics, most of the weather maps online are TEGNA-fied
  14. WATN now has the new Tegna layout... kept the same localmemphis.com address. Surprisingly they kept the logo in tact, just made it linear..
  15. WOI also has the latest version of the Tegna websites and app that are slowly rolling out... Looks like when the Tegna graphics debut, the open will feature We Are Iowa (at least from what is seen in the app when it opens)
  16. Basically KFMB but with ABC instead of CBS eye
  17. It's been this way for a little while now... At least 2 months... Very sad
  18. Bill is a legend here in GR :_)
  19. WOOD TV's Marlee Ginter has revealed that she is on her way to KOVR in Sacramento... She left WOOD 12/20
  20. Primetime News has been in use with WOOD for 25 years... They use so many different cuts but each one sounds current and catchy.... It can be done with the right package...
  21. WXMI and WPIX has now gone from the Tribune web layout to the Scripps layout http://www.fox17online.com http://www.pix11.com Also, the WXMI logo no longer has the Fox Searchlights in the 17 box...
  22. So I'm trying to find if this was mentioned someplace, but I can't see anything so I'll post here... A while back, there was a discussion about how WISH had dropped the 24-hour news moniker... Well it now looks like WOOD is now dropping it as well... While watching the news today I noticed the reporters are now signing off as "Reporter Name, News 8" instead of "Reporter Name, 24-hour News 8". Now granted their LL Bean jackets still show 24-hour News 8, but I do believe that the 24-hour news moniker is now gone... I am sad
  23. I'm sure they'll move KASW to KNXV in due time.. I know where both stations are and it's a decent drive between the two... KASW is located at 7th St. and Missouri, while KNXV is at 44th st and Washington, near Loop 202. Makes sense to condense it to KNXV
  24. Love love LOVE WAVE's new graphics!! Definitely should roll out to others!
  25. WTF Gray -- Come on now...
