Of course. But if FTVLive is wrong about this issue, it'll make them look more like the TV industry's equivalent to TMZ (as if it doesn't look like that enough sometimes, at least to me).
-
They might've, but they won't tell us until after the spectrum auction
-
Most of which are conflicts
-
And like Sinclair, they can get away with it. Also, call me a conspiracy theorist, but I still think Perry Sook paid a hitman to kill Media General's chairman (J. Stewart Bryan III) and make it look like an accident so that the merger could go through. And speaking of TV execs committing crimes, the last time any TV exec committed any crime that I know of was back in 1995 when David Smith was caught with a prostitute and had to serve community service. And he used WBFF to do so, which I would highly dissaprove, and so did the judge
-
Well, they obviously want to establish themselves quickly, sort of like Sinclair, but more glaringly obvious
-
Still, "4 Warn" sounds better than that
-
Now what about the other former journal stations? Yeah. Because "POWER OF 4" sounds like its better suited for sesame street or something else, not newscasts
-
Well, WTMJ has finnaly got Scripps' graphics after an entire YEAR has gone by with the Journal graphics.

So is the NBC 5 over here in the DFW area. http://www.nbcdfw.com/news/local/NBC-5-Responds-337257661.html

Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion

In that case, has anyone got any info on whether KQUI will get news from KIII or a nearby Sinclair station (KABB or KGBT)? -
Sinclair Broadcast Group - General Discussion
mardek1995 replied to Smitha A's topic in Corporate Chat
And speaking of flagships, WJLA and its sister cable channel Newschannel 8 as of recently, are also Sinclair's flagship stations Well, as much as an overkill as it is, like Mrtraveler01 has mentioned, they did manage to get a news operation on a station that lacked one. What about KQUI? Are they starting a news operation of their own? -
Or will there? See, once Nexstar becomes Nexstar Media, they will have the bargaining power to make any of their larger stations become NBC affiliates (including yanking the NBC affiliation from KSL). And yes, KSTU and KUTV will still keep their affiliations regardless for reasons you've just stated. And in the case of KUTV, the conservative stance Sinclair gives it also helps it a lot considering that Utah is generally a conservative state TEGNA is also one of CBS' strongest station groups since the former's inception from the split, then again seeing as how Media General (which is about 4-6 months away from being acquired by Nexstar) is also one of CBS' strongest station groups, I can see your point. However, let me clarify this once again. NBC has as good relations with Nexstar as Fox does with Sinclair that they invited Lester Holt into at least a couple of their NBC affiliates http://www.myarklamiss.com/news/news/a-sit-down-with-nbc-news-anchor-lester-holt http://www.kerngoldenempire.com/news/top-stories/lester-holt-works-the-room-at-conference

Does Hartford really have no news choppers?
-
As well as identifying more NBC affiliates for them (particularly in their larger markets, except WHAG and KRON 4 for reasons already known), because soon, KTVX will strip the NBC affiliation from KSL and the same goes for KOIN 6 which might also gain an NBC affiliation, among others. Sook is a member of the NBC affiliates group and Nexstar has as good relations with NBC as Sinclair does with Fox.
-
Both, but mostly by caravan.
-
I don't think they do that, but at least Fox 7 and/or KVUE should get a news chopper
-
And speaking of news choppers, why doesn't Fox 7 over in Austin or even KVUE have one?

And KDVR would fully absorb KWGN's news operation. TEGNA could also get some of their smaller stations (with them it's #40 or smaller) that don't conflict with any of their stations (but not the KFOR/KAUT duopoly).- 3687 replies

Which explains why Gracia Matore, the CEO of TEGNA, clarified that they aren't going to make any big purchases anytime soon- 3687 replies

Or best of all, Tribune could sell all of its stations to different groups like Newport did. As much as it seems like a reasonable claim, how exactly do you know this?- 3687 replies

Which is why I mentioned that they'd have to divest at least half of Tribune's stations to 3rd parties- 3687 replies

And ironically, Tribune Media had no debt upon splitting, but is struggling so much that they might not be able to renew the CW affiliation agreement by this summer- 3687 replies

Then at why doesn't any of the fox O&O stations at least use their mynet stations for overflow of news, or on the occasion that any program (more than likely a football game that starts at about 8 colonial time, 7 central time) that flows into the time period where their (mynet stations) senior partners would normally air their newscasts?
-
So in that case, the only duopoly partner that has any news is KICU as KTVU Plus. So why don't they start bringing news on their duopoly partners (and in the case for many mynet O&Os that were UPN affiliates, bringing news back)?
