  1. Not really specific to 6 ABC News, but Good Morning America is celebrating their 40th anniversary with a 40 hour marathon, now through Thursday morning. Former GMA personalities scheduled to appear include Charlie Gibson, David Hartman, Diane Sawyer, Joan Lunden, Sandy Hill and more. It's being shown on the Live Well Network.
  2. Katie Fehlinger will be returning to the morning news on Nov 18.
  3. Looks like FTVLive has stories from all the Philly stations today. http://www.ftvlive.com/
  4. I know someone has to do the 4AM (yawn) news, but maybe he just wants to be able to get up at a normal hour, instead of 1-2AM. He also won't have to worry about shoveling snow.
  5. Anyone notice they now have Kate Bilo sitting on the far left of the desk, near Ukee, and Don Bell sitting on the right, near Jessica? Isn't the weather center/green screen on the far right of the set?
  6. Jim Donovan anchored the Sunday morning news solo today.
  7. I watched the noon newscast today. Ukee was on, too, and introduced a video presentation of Pat's career on KYW. I don't think it's on this clip, but Pat spoke to the audience and thanked everyone and cried a bit. http://philadelphia.cbslocal.com/show/latest-video/video-3307254-cbs-3-says-goodbye-to-pat-ciarrocchi/ Philly.com has Pat's comments up now. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/entertainment/television/Pat-Ciarrocchis-tearful-goodbye-to-CBS-3-It-has-been-a-privilege.html
  8. Charlotte Huffman leaves CBS 3. I think she was only here about a year. Edit: She was here two years. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/charlotte-huffman-leaves-kyw/156884
  9. I don't think the main set where the anchors sit is that bad. I just don't like/understand the "stand-up" area where a separate anchor or sports anchor will stand. It has those blurred out TV screens in the background. What's that supposed to be?
  10. Jim Gardner didn't do the 6PM news tonight, otherwise we would've had a Jim trifecta of anchors tonight--Rosenfield, Donovan and Gardner. Gardner is on now at 11, but Donovan is not. I thought Jim Donovan did a pretty good job, too. Besides Ukee, I think the only other male anchor I've seen on CBS 3 since Chris May left was Todd Quinones.
  11. Lauren just tweeted that she'll be starting Saturday morning (Oct 3) on CBS 3.
  12. Meghan Packer announced during the 4PM news today that Friday would be her last day at WFMZ.
  13. Lauren Johnson will also sometimes do the 9AM hr with Mike and Alex, but I think she's currently on vacation. Jenn Frederick did the 9AM hour at the desk today. Sue also does later weather hits on the hour. I don't know if they're pre-taped, but I've seen her do updates as late as 3PM. That's a long day.
  14. Not sure. She was on at 10 tonight, though.
  15. Scott Williams won a MidAtlantic Emmy for weather anchor Saturday night. Also, I believe Kathy Orr debuts tonight at 11PM on Fox 29 after the Prime Time Emmys.
  16. I thought I'd seen him him earlier in the week, and going by his twitter page, he was on the show Monday & Tuesday. I guess I hadn't noticed him being off later in the week.
  17. According to Philly.com, Scott will do the 6PM newscast. http://www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/celebrities/20150917_Sunshine_on_the_radar__Meteorologist_Kathy_Orr_goes_to_Fox29.html Note the article says the announcement was made with a short statement. Actually, they made a big announcement, as Good Day teased a big announcement all morning and finally brought Kathy out from behind a curtain. Everyone hugged her and I think Jerrick even kissed her on the cheek. I don't think Bob Kelly was there, though, strangely.
  18. Kathy Orr has joined Fox 29 to do weather on their 5 and 10PM newscasts. http://www.fox29.com/news/20403990-story
  19. Whatever happened to Drone-6? They hyped it up in May and I don't think I've seen it since.
  20. CBS 3 names Margaret Cronan News Director. She worked at the station in the 90s as a producer. http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/88288/margaret-cronan-named-kyw-news-director
  21. Don Bell, who was on CBS3 from 2005-2010, has been hired as their new sports director. He starts on Sept 13. http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/pattisonave/Don-Bell-returns-to-CBS3-replace-Beasley-Reece.html
  22. I did notice that Brittney and Michelle flipped shifts, but is it permanent? I've seen them flip back and forth between shifts over the past few months. I don't even think Michelle was on this past weekend and Brittney did morning and evening weather. I thought Michelle had left the station last year to be with her family. Now she's back... and working a lot?
  23. The TV listings starting Sept 14 show "The Fab Life" on at 2PM, replacing Millionaire and Jeopardy. No changes to the 6ABC hour long 12PM news or any other shows. I know everyone's been waiting since July for this news.
  24. This was posted on Cecily's Twitter page for Throwback Thursday.
  25. This is not just about 6 ABC, but there's a new book out that has lots of info and pictures on all of Philadelphia TV and its history. It's called "Philadelphia Television, Images of America". Local Barnes & Noble has it, as does Amazon online. Not sure I'm allowed to post a link, but this shows some of the pictures. It's a small preview of the whole book. You have to scroll down. https://books.google.com/books?id=hqX0CQAAQBAJ&pg=PA6&lpg=PA6&dq=Philadelphia+Television+%28Images+of+America%29&source=bl&ots=d1KLQd781w&sig=l6khYoMQQYMCL_siC26Jwm1-FpI&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0CFIQ6AEwDGoVChMIseiX4IesxwIVAvaACh15xAfD#v=onepage&q=Philadelphia%20Television%20%28Images%20of%20America%29&f=false
