  1. About TODAY Show 70th anniversary. We may end up only with Jim Hartz, Tom Brokaw, Jane Pauley, Bryant Gumble, Deborah Norville, Katie Couric and Meredith Vieria showing up. Huge Downs died this year. Barbra Walters has Dementia and is not doing well. She may not be around by then. If she alive she won't be able to attend anyway. I be surprised if Matt showed up. He may not even be invited at all which is a real shame (but I guess understanble) as he was on the show for 23 years of which he was co-ancho for 20 (during which for most of the time the show had it greatest Ratings and longest streak at Number ), and was a face of the TODAY Show for the better part of the last 12 years he was there. I could see Ann curry being invited but whether she decide to attend is another question. There is now a whole new management (couple times actually) in place at TODAY Show and NBC News since 2012. . Depending on how much of an issue COVID is by then it may be scrapped all together however experts are predicting that life will (hopeful!) get back to pre COVID normalcy by the end of next year. It could also be a more scaled down affair form 2012. Certainly any type of celebration and whoever shows up there will be that "elephant" in the room. Ann removal and Matt firing.
  2. The reason Savannah is still at home I think is because of her eyes not having completely recovered. She still need more surgery but at the moment that been put on hold due to the pandemic. That could also be considered a underlying health issues. She told Ellen that she still see blurry spots. I would not be surprised if it not until this fall that she back in stud 1A. But Al, Jenna and Craig are still doing the show from home too so she not the only one.
  3. Why are Craig and Hoda still appearing in the studio? everyone else is at home.
  4. The Live Audience for Hoda and Jenna has been suspended and the Plaza is now closed to visitors because of the COVID-19 Pandmeic. https://www.today.com/news/today-show-live-audiences-suspended-due-coronavirus-t175664
  5. That was not my question or what I am talking about. i understand why the women didn't report it for many years. My questions is why did People particularly in the Meeia not keep mentioning Cosby seuxal assult and rape accusaitons prior to 2015? It was pretty much swept under the rug in 2006 after he settled with 11 women. No one seems to care and most forgot about it or just acted like they amnesia. When he got awards during those years or did interviews I don't recall people bringing those charges 'up? or calling him a rapist. Social Media probably played a big part but suddenly in 2014 everyone cared? I remember when he was accused back in 2005..
  6. Gayle is getting a lot of backlash. for this https://www.usatoday.com/story/entertainment/celebrities/2020/02/05/kobe-bryant-gayle-king-sparks-outrage-questions-rape-charge/4672566002/ My question is... Why didn't Gayle (and everyone in the Media) question Bill Cosby In 2012 and 2013 and before and bring up prior accusations against him? Cosby allegations of rape and sexual assault had been well known and documented for many years before it exploded in 2014. Remember he settled a civil lawsuit with 11 women in 2006. There was also the women who accuse him of sexual assault in 2000. Why wasn't anyone talking about that until it resurfaced in 2014 (and 50 more women came forward to accuse him) and then acted shocked like they had just heard it for the first time?
  7. I think the content on The TODAY Show first 2 hours is better now than it was between 2008 and 2013. The format/tone 10-15 years ago is a bit outdated now. Remember there are other ways to watch the show now. People can not DVR it and also watch it online later. Ratings only count homes not business like hospitals, gym, etc,. We live in much fast apce society. There probably other reasons why people are not watching these shows like they used to but I am not going to get into that aspect of it here.
  8. Someone awhile back said they were surprised that Al is still on this show. Honestly, I am not. The person who I am most surprise that has lasted is Carson Daly. He been on the show fo six years now (which I didn't realize until today tha it been that long) and does not seem like he will be leaving anytime soon (which is part of why I think he left his late night show) but I will say he has grown into his role on the show very well. I know at the time lot o people has skepticism but he has turned out to be solid addition in the long run I think.
  9. Natalie and Maria should do a AncestryDNA test. they look too much alike lol
  10. I forgot about Campbell Brown. She would have been a good choice too, Sadly her career has hit a stalemate since leaving CNN. I miss seeing her on TV. I think you right, she probably left NBC after because she was passed over for a job on Weekday TODAY Show. It sad that Weekend Anchors are often overlook when it comes ot co-hosting Jobs on The weekday show: Jodi Applegate and Soledad O'Brien in the late 90s to mid 2000s were the two of the likely successor to Katie Couric for awhile for several years. Jodi Applegate career like Campbell also seem to hit a stalemate or they are just taking a break but they both left NBC after Kaaie signed new contract. They both co-hosted Weekend TODAY at different times. Soledad has had better luck though it seems Amy Robach has often made it clear that the main reason she left Sunday TODAY and NBC was because she kept being passed over for a job on Weekday TODAY which is what she really wanted. She wrote in her book that she wanted the 9am Job in 2011 which eventually went to Savannah. Se was using the weekend show as a stepping stone to get a permanent role on the weekday one. she doing very well at ABC now.
  11. I like when Maria Shriver appear on The TODAY Show. I think if Arnold Schwarzenegger had not been Governor of California, She would have gotten a co-host job on TODAY at some point.. She would have been a fine replacement for Katie back in 2006 but Meredith was great though. Or if things had gone differently she could have replaced Meredith in 2011.
  12. They also left out Meredith
  13. Now that Natalie won't be co-hosting Access Hollywood anymore, I wonder if she will go back to The TODAY Show fulltime?
  14. Jenna is very popular with people who watch Kathie Lee and Hoda.
  15. Jenna Bush is the frontrunner to replace Kathie Lee. Hoda may decide she doesn't want to do the 4th Hour without KLG. They could cancel he Kathie Lee & Hoda Show (since technically that what it had been for many years despite being under the tODAY Brand) and have Jenna and Sheinelle hist the 4th Hour
  16. It appears Meredith Vieira has now left the network, as we have not seen her on any NBC News shows (She did not even take any part in NBC coverage of the Winter Olympics this year like she done from 2010-20186, in well over a year now. The last time she appeared on TODAY Show was back in January 2017 I believe. It kind of a shame really. She was a great asset for the show and the network. I wonder how the different the show could have been if she had stayed for 5 more years like NBC wanted her too. They may have been able to hold onto Number 1 (or the streak) for a little bit longer. Savannah is fine I like her, but TODAY Show has not been the same since Meredith left. I do miss watching Matt, Meredith, Al and Ann some days. Their time together was too short.. they were a good team. Katie and Meredith were the Good Old Days. The Show will never be that good again
  17. What happened to CBS Ratings? 18 Months ago they had around 3.8 Million but now it down to 2.9 Million. they lost somewhere around 800,000-900,000 Viewers in a 18 Months period. Where have the Viewers gone? I sure Charlie Rose dismissal played a part in it.
  18. Hope he get better. Interesting that Dylan Dteyer had the flu at the start of the Games during her first week in South Korea
  19. I think more of it how to do with Katie having the most power and being the biggest star and lead anchor on the show at the time. Same with Meredith expect in her case she wasn't the biggest star on the show or the lead anchor but she was still a well-respected journalist who wield some small power within NBC or more then Savannah did during her time with Matt. she also had Money. neither Katie nor Meredith would have put up with that behavior directly from Matt or nothing that went beyond the general playful flirting, friendly teasing and the brother-sister relationship they had with Matt. Meredith and Katie would have both quickly reported him and made sure he was in some way punished especially Katie. Depending on how bad it was Katie would have made sure NBC did not renew his contract. I don't think Matt ever tired anything on any of the Women he worked with. He was smart enough to go after Women who had no leverage or power or fame and who needed the Money to make a living. Katie, Meredith, Jenna Bush and Kathie Lee had Power, Money, and Fame.
  20. It very interesting that Anne stayed on TODAY Show for 14 Years before she became co-anchor. She obviously was not close with Matt and Katie (But had a professional working relationship) though She and Al were Friends. It shows that back in the day NBC went to great length to keep 'America First Family' together for as long as it could depsite one of its members not having a close relationship with two fo the others. I get why stayed during the Veiria Years. at least by then, there were more people on the show who she a had good relationship with. Also with the Environment at the show on top of that I have to ask why did she stay for so long?
  21. So, Bryant, Katie and Anne have now all commented on Matt firing over sexual misconduct. the one person who still hasn't is Meredith Vieira. I wonder why that is?
  22. Ann and Savannah are on good terms too. Ann has never had anything against Savannah (and has never blamed her) in fact the week Savannah started on the TODAY Show they had Lunch together and still follow each other on Twitter
  23. The longest-serving Morning Show Anchor Teams in History are: Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski 10 years and 9 Months (The Longest Overall and Longest on Cable) Charlie Gibson and Joan Lunden 10 Years and 6 Months (The Longest for a Broadcast Morning Show) Matt Lauer and Katie Couric 9 years and 4 Months (TODAY Show Longest Anchor Team) Steve Doocy and E. D. Hill 8 Years 3 Months (Fox New Longest Morning Anchor Team) George Stephanopoulos and Robin Roberts 8 Years and 1 Months (GMA Current and Second Longest Anchor Team. The Current Longest Broadcast Morning Show Anchor team) Bryant Gumble and Jane Pauley 8 Years (TODAY Show Second Longest Anchor Team) Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer 7 Years and 5 Months (GMA Third Longest Anchor Team) Steve Doocy Gretchen Carlson 7 Years FOX Second Longest Anchor Team) Harry Smith and Paula Zahn 6 Years and 3 Months (CBS Longest Morning Anchor Team to date)
  24. They have actually been the senior morning anchor team among all the Broadcast Networks since 2011. But among all Networks (including cable) that would be Joe and Mika
  25. They did seem like an odd couple at the time. Robin MDS battle in 2012 seem to have brought them a little closer
