I think the days of the Morning Shows having a Newsreader in accordance with the Co-anchors are over for the Networks. CBS did away with it in 2012 and NBC did in 2016. Now GMA has slowing been easing out that position from the show and I think now they have completely cut it from the show and don't have that seat anymore. They don't have a Newsreader anymore thought haven't made it official. Amy Robach does not give the news anymore like she uses to. She comes on now at 7:30 sometimes 8 doing other things but usually not reading the news. I think the days of having a Male and Female Co-anchor team with a (Usually Female) Newsreader and a Weatherman (A Male) are over. It is a very 1980s and 1990s format which to the network is probably outdated format now. Sometimes you need to change things up and not having the newsreader role anymore hasn't hurt NBC and CBS.

No, and I don't think Ann would ever agree to come back no matter what kind of money and contract they throw at her. She has moved on. NBC can't force Ann to come back if she doesn't want to.

CBS is still number 3 and still hasn't topped 4 Million viewers let alone on a weekly basis. That i hardly taking over the Morning race. It still in the cellar like it been for 40 years

Actually, TODAY show has wone Weeks in the ratings with Matt and Savannah. And you can't say the majrotiy and when only 12.5 Million out of 323 Million American watches the morning shows combined. The problem was not Savannah. GMA has been losing viewership as well even if they have been number 1 overall in viewers but TODAY Show has been number 1 in the Age 25-54 age group for over a year which is what really matters to the Network and Advertisers! It more important By the way, Robin Roberts doesn't do a d*m thing for me. She actually doesn't do anything for Men in general.

I was actually thinking about the last part of your post today. It's a real shame when you think about it. The guy who hosted the show for 20 years and is arguably the most popular host the show has ever had (Some might argue Katie is) and is the most successful Co-Anchor of all time of the Program taking it to new ratings height during which tenure the show spent 15 years of dominance at Number 1 for 852 weeks during which period the show was at it most successful ever and got it greatest ratings ever, may not be invited to the 70th Anniversary becuse hi legacy is now poibly somewhat tanrhsied becuse he was Fired (He dd not elave on hi own will in the graceful way Katie Couric did like everyone thought he would!) over Sexual harasment/Assult allegaitons. It is really something to think about it. Matt may be there but I have a hard time imagining him being there. But who knows It hard to say whether or not Frank, Barbara, and Jim will be there given their ages right now (Late 80s-late 90s), I think it will all depend on their health then. I think Frank probably won't be there if he is still living. I think Tom Brokaw will be there. Last I head he was cancer free I think Jane, Bryant, Deborah, Katie, and Meredith will also all be there. The person I wonder about is Ann Curry. Will he be there? For 9 Years Katie, Matt, Al, and Ann were America's First Family and dominated the ratings. in 2022 two of them may not be at the 70th Anniversary show

They are not pushing Savannah out. She signed a four years contract in December, They would not have renewed it if they were planning to push her out.

I have to say I enjoyed watching Maria on TODAY Show this week. One of my favorite guest co-host. Which she filled in more often.

Actually the new version when it was started in 2013 was kind of refreshing. It only became irrelevant when Natalie and Willie left.

To be honest I tihnk the Third Hour had become kind of irrelevant since Natalie and Willie left. I have not watch that hour since July. What I don't get is why they brought Billy Bush on if they were planning to get rid of that hour anyway?

TODAY Show has been beating GMA in Age 18-54 Demo since Aug 2015 which is what really matters to advertisers. They been Cutting the Gap with GMA in Total Viewership and have beat them i that category 5 or 6 Times in last year. GMA is losing more.
