I expect the FCC lawyers and the Sinclair lawyers to stipulate that Sinclair pays a reasonable (pre-agreed ) fine ,and promise not to do it again. And that's all. No drama...no nothing. Just a fine...and everyone moves on. Seriously folks... Where are the "victims" in this dastardly affair? It's big business,and that's the price you pay when you play with real money ...in the real world.

Alan Denton has signed off from KUSI after 10 years. He say's he's going to Florida...and getting out of TV.

I will miss Rich... Poor guy got pretty beat-up emotionally lately with the passing of Van Amburg, the suicide of Cumulus/ KGO-AM810, and finally the passing last year of his mother. It's hard to make money off a local blog. He gave it a good go and got some juicy exclusives... and he sure pissed off some folks. I hope he comes over here and joins us at TVNT. Black Pink USA debut blows away GMA... Korean KPOP Girl Group "Black Pink" had their USA debut this morning on GMA. In just 17 hours after the show the youtube views have blown away just about any other GMA segment out of the water in views. GMA Youtube views were at 1.1 million... The KGO San Francisco YT site showed 1.25 million views in just 17 hours. Average views to the GMA pieces are around 1.5k That has to be a record for GMA and YT views for a single segment. Update...2.5 million views on just the KGO-7 YT site in under 36 hours. Jenni, La Lisa, Jisoo and Rose slaying it.... I hope the suits at ABC are paying attention to these bombshell view numbers...cuz Black Pink's in YOUR area... Go Blinks!

I was not aware the legitimacy of the story was ever in question. Citizens and regular people ARE legit news sources. They are the most organic of sources as they are the first witness...not some "unnamed source". Is that why NBC,FOX,CNN and all the others are not covering it? Is somebody or some agency calling this fake? I think any time flaming rocks fall from space causing fires on the ground...and children to run in terror it's considered "newsworthy". EDIT: Snip.... In the end....@rkolsen was right...nobody cared except the poor Venezuelans who had the hunger scared out of them. Amazing the US networks completely ignored it...not that we really need to be reminded that flaming stuff from space can wipe us all out real quick.

Smart move... She cuts her cost of living by 1/3rd...goes to a respectable news town, and she still gets to eat and play, close to the bay area...but not TOO close.

Oh you said it! This stuff always happened...just now it's so much easier to get caught and busted because there is instant proof of said "mis-deeds". You just can't have ANY fun anymore.

This collection has over 100 flags and took over 40 years to collect . Think of all the fun you could have with those.

Plus you have to haul and lug all those flags, and you have to keep track of the stand-ups making sure they match stations, you have to be cautious of outdated logos or network affiliation switches. ...and if and when you screw one up...it's all YOUR fault. How about just No mic flag and a nice new black Electro VoiceRE-50... Or a nice new black RE-50 and a generic Nexstar flag?

Can we steal Scott Budman from NBC-BA and have him host? I bet that would create quite a buzz . Nextstar my want to dabble in this...but expect the whole idea to go up in smoke.. WGME might want to consider doing what we did at KBEX-TV during our last flood. We just get a few cameramen on tire innertubes and LIVEU's...and we can drift along and still broadcast...while keeping dry. The sets also come in festive colors, and you can even order sets with your station branding...order plenty in case a few get punctured or sink.

How the hell did John Weston get all his pals on that mic flag? Who was the real John Weston? That name sounds so '70s ...and SO made up. I bet his real name was Melvin Schoonable or Jack Weaselface. You guys can search him if you want...I'm having Vodka Tonics with my new buddy... John Weston.

WWL thinks it's going to make more money by bumping "Live" over to MYTV. They can probably move it back if they don't like the outcome of the decision. I don't need to look at the numbers to understand why they made this decision....it's about more money for WWL in that timeslot...now they control the whole hour, and not just a few avails that they got with "Live". They Can sell more time, and keep all the money from the 9-10 hour....while maintaining the viewer momentum (NOT ratings momentum) from the morning show. The ratings don't matter in this case...all that matters is the billing.

Why do you all think it's a bad move? It there some financial reason you are aware of that you are not sharing with Tegna or the others here? How does moving the show to another channel diminish the quality of the show? Is the sound or picture going to be worse on MYTV? I'm pretty sure the show will still be the same...and have the same production values. Why earth does the viewer even care if it's on MyTV? Do our fickle viewers somehow feel insulted or degraded since it's on MYTV? I bet those viewers can figure out how to change the channel... Kelly will get over those hurt feelings that Live will feel after being so brutally banished to MYTV after 30 years on WWL. Maybe when they get their act together...and compensate WWL for it's valuable air time..."Live" might be able to return to WWL in it's coveted slot. Come on guys... It's only a TV show...it has NO FEELINGS. Kelly and Regis will get over being "dissed" after a few days.

Hell yes they will use an older graphics package because it's free....they control that too. Keep cost down. I doubt the people of NOLO will mind too much...if they can't find the show they can use that little channel clicker...or that phone to find the show. it's not like when Oprah abandon her core OTA viewers and slipped off to upper tier pay cable.

Unless you have access to the entire NOLO ratings book then you really can't determine what an acceptable rating is for any program. In the end...it's all about billing...a "rating" is just one of MANY metrics used to determine sustainability of a program. How much inventory do you think ABC is giving back to WWL right now? Tegna wants to save some at that viewer momentum coming out of that 7-9am hour. Other groups are watching this formula closely and will folo suit.

Most have separate host...sometimes even a recently "retired" newsperson. You want to have that separation of duties between departments (and budgets), otherwise you can have legal issues that you don't need, and the community see's right through the deception. Shows are getting better at drawing that 'line" Now...with lower cost of LiveU , we can send a production department employee or even a freelancer who is assigned just to that show. Some cities have an entire outside production teams produce the show while only using the station set and studios. Most the smarter operators and trying to keep a clear line between news and paid...but it's still an evolving "standard". Lifestyle shows are here to stay, and they will evolve hopefully for the better of the local community...and not the reps in NYC. The lifestyle show is not about ratings...it's about selling little chunks of TV time that you completely control.
