  2. WATN says this acquisition makes them a "local news leader" http://www.localmemphis.com/news/local-news/latest-move-by-local-24s-parent-company-means-better-news-coverage-for-you/641740210
  3. I don't mean in the spectrum action. I mean selling it to anyone. looks like Daystar and TBN don't have stations in the area.
  4. They can easily solve their cap problems by selling or shutting down KRON and KASW.
  5. former WOFL reporter is pursuing legal action against the station. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/1/13/exclusive-former-reporter-looks-at-legal-action-against-fox-oo
  6. Brenda Wood did her final 11pm newscast last night on WXIA. She will continue to anchor the 5pm and 6pm newscasts until her retirement next month http://www.11alive.com/news/brenda-wood-passes-11-pm-torch-to-shiba-russell/384249326
  7. Sinclair has decided to run a hit piece against the Washington Post in response to the Post's reporting that Sinclair was in the tank for Trump. Of course Sinclair completely ignored the fact that the Post only reported on it because Trump's son-in-law said that Sinclair was favorable to Trump. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/1/5/sinclair-runs-hit-piece-on-the-washington-post
  8. Greta on MSNBC is surprising. I thought she'd go to CNN or HLN
  9. AT&T/DirecTV and Cox Media are having a dispute http://www.broadcastingcable.com/news/local-tv/att-directv-could-drop-cox-stations-10-markets/162065
  10. this isn't surprising at all. During the last months of the campaign the only non-Fox interviews Donald would give would be to Sinclair stations and or to the Sinclair produced show "full measure"
  11. I find it odd that you consider yourself a local TV "activist" yet praise Perry Sook any time you can. If you really were an "activist" you'd hate Sook just like everyone else in the industry.
  12. Turns out that Amanda Davis should never have been arrested. Her license was valid but the police system showed it as being suspended even though her license had been reinstated. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/12/14/amanda-davis-arrest-was-a-misunderstanding-her-license-had-not-been-suspended/
  13. I think that CBS prefers having WGCL be the mess that it is over having WUPA become the Atlanta version of WWJ. WGCL is a mess, but it's much more preferable over the alternative.
  14. the amazing thing is that Meredith isn't a bad owner. KCTV, KPTV, and WFSB show that they know how to properly run a station. Yet when it comes to WGCL they can't do anything right; the talent seems to only last 2 years at the station leading to a constant revolving door, they change their branding every 5 to 6 years, their syndication lineup is scarce and they rely on infomercials to fill time ( a top 10 market station airing infomercials at 1pm every day is inexcusable), they have absolutely no identity in the Atlanta new landscape, and to top it all off they haven't been able to take advantage of Tenga/Gannett's total mismanagement of WXIA.
  15. Former WAGA anchor Amanda Davis will be WGCL's new morning anchor, replacing Gloria Neal who left last month. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/12/07/amanda-davis-taking-morning-anchor-spot-at-cbs46-for-gloria-neal/
  16. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2016/12/4/tegna-to-push-out-longtime-denver-anchor KUSA may be forcing out long time anchor Adele Arakawa
  17. At least in Atlanta she's not replacing anyone legendary. She's replacing the person who is replacing the legendary anchor.
  18. the KMGH GM has resigned http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2016/11/17/gm-out-in-denver
  19. a WDIV reporter was forced to resign after she used the N word in the newsroom. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2016/11/17/motown-reporter-out-after-n-word-controversy
  20. I really don't like these websites. They have so little (useful) content compared to the old ones
  21. WSB political reporter Lori Geary is leaving the station to spend more time with her kids. She's been with WSB since 1998. http://radiotvtalk.blog.ajc.com/2016/11/12/lori-geary-stepping-down-from-channel-2-action-news-wsb-tv/
  22. looks like Scripps missed the mark on earnings http://www.cincinnati.com/story/money/2016/11/07/political-ad-revenue-misses-mark-scripps-broadcasters/93418338/
