Keep in mind Apollo wants someone to buy the entire thing, not a piecemeal sale…that means the buyer will need to be willing to take the radio stations as well
-
the NFL is the only think keeping Fox in “big 4” status. They’ve really deemphasized scripted programming in recent years to the point where they’re not really trying anymore
-
I can remember a time when there was a breaking news story in south Florida (think is was the parkland shooting) Fox News decided to jump in and carry WSVN’s coverage…and a minute after than WSVN decided to listen in on CNN’s coverage, causing FNC to quickly switch away.

Gray has conflicts in Atlanta and charlotte. Nexstar conflict in Dayton Any chance Hearst jumps on this? Good chance to get some pretty good assets…conflicts in Boston, Pittsburgh, and Orlando would need to be divested, but that should be easy.

wccb and Fox had a great long standing relationship until they didn’t. Things can change
-
They’ll probably have to lay off staff regardless as ad rates and retrans fees are likely to decline without ABC programming
-
That is so similar to what they currently have it could be that “they’re the same picture” meme from The Office

Lester Holt stepping down from NBC Nightly News
atlnews2 replied to JosiahCubed's topic in Network News
I mean Lester is 65 so he’s at about retirement age. Could be his way of slowing down while still being active -
KSAT posts full newscasts on their YouTube page after they air. WDIV posts the A block of their newscasts on their YouTube page. I’m not aware of other stations that do this

Imagicomm Communications plans to sell its TV stations
atlnews2 replied to Howard Beale's topic in Corporate Chat
well that was quick. Guess they’re ok selling piecemeal instead of “all or nothing “ -
So they’re keeping Bravo, which they see as important programming aspect of peacock, but will dump everything else. I see this being extremely complicated from an operations perspective. MSNBC, CNBC, and NBC News are all tightly interconnected when it comes to programming and news gathering. USA Network is tightly connected with NBC Sports for sports programming. Then there’s the olympics, where NBC uses its cable channels (USA, E!, CNBC, and golf channel) to air coverage. If you separate NBC Sports from USA and NBC News from CNBC and MSNBC you’re severely impacting both the “strong” NBC operation and the “weak” cable operation

Bally Sports could still sign new deals with MLB teams, the teams will just have to accept less money (and they’ll have to be comfortable being in business with Bally Sports going forward)

And with that the Raycom package is no more.

Only took a year and a half to be resolved.

New cnn boss looking to cut anchor salaries as part of savings https://www.thewrap.com/cnn-looks-to-slash-budgets-star-salaries-as-mark-thompson-digs-in/

I do see your point. However I would argue that CNN has failed in the mornings for 20 years and so maybe the lighter flair of Robin would have led to something more successful than what CNN has been doing. I’m sure robin could be serious if the situation called for it.
-
They could have saved so much headache if they just moved Robin Meade to CNN instead of letting her go.

a reminder that Cox has been in dispute with dish since October 2022. Don’t expect a quick settlement
-
Dish has dropped KASW. I can only assume this is because Scripps wanted higher retrans fees for the station now that they carry Coyotes games and Dish told them to take a hike.

yeah - the talent opens aren't that good. The transitions don't match the music and it's too busy / crowded. Why WABC insists on holding onto them I'll never know. They did the same thing with their 2012 package, butcher a good open by cramming talent shots into the open.
