Looks like Gray and dish are in a dispute. Gray Stations started the usual warning messages on their websites

remember cox and charter are merging. So it’s kinda a moot point. Once cox customers are transferred to spectrum branded service it will probably carry necn

man it looks so weird how they replaced the TNT logo in the graphics on on set with the ESPN logo.
-
I’d take anything from the free beacon with a massive grain of salt
-
that's assuming the merger goes through

I think ABC moving to a dot 2 on either KMOV or KSDK is more likely that Weigel grabbing a bunch of ABC stations. Also, y'all are forgetting Scripps owns a bunch of Ion stations, including St Louis, DC, Dayton, Columbus, and more.

I really hope in the coming days someone leaks to the press the discussions between Disney and these companies At least Nexstar didn’t put out an embarrassing statement like Sinclair saying an apology wasn’t enough, Kimmel also needed to donate money to TurningPoinyUSA Sinclair walked back basically everything in that initial press release. The Kirk special, the donation, the apology, everything

Gray, Sinclair, Nexstar, etc don't have the money to acquire a major network.
-
scenario 1: make ABC a streaming only service housed in Disney+. It's been suggested in some circles that this is where all the networks are heading anyway at some point scenario 2: if deregulation actually happens and ownership caps abolished, adopt the Canadian model. Own your own stations in every market

lets face it. He’ll try to interfere even if Disney fires Kimmel. Trump is a bully who likes to bully just because he can. You can be his biggest ass kisser and he’ll still treat you like shit

Sinclair's ABC stations didn't air the Charlie Kirk tribute tonight. Instead they stuck w/ ABC programming (Celebrity Family Feud reruns) and put the tribute on their youtube page. https://x.com/WeAreSinclair/status/1969241140219039979

Yet at this moment there’s no word that Kimmel’s Millionaire show is scrapped…indicating that there’s still a door open?

deadline seems to be suggesting that this is temporary and that kimmel will be back once the heat dies down. Does anyone believe this will happen ? https://deadline.com/2025/09/jimmy-kimmel-decision-disney-dana-walden-bob-iger-1236547651/

Do what they just did in Miami, put it on the dot 2 of a different station owned by a more reputable company.

Sinclair says suspension isn't enough https://finance.yahoo.com/news/sinclair-says-kimmel-suspension-not-011700200.html this is absolutely ridiculous. Disney should just pull the ripcord we all know is coming and put ABC as a tile on Disney+ and cut out the affiliates. Today's actions by Sinclair and Nexstar are a clear attach on free speech

it’s been clear that Disney is petrified of getting into another political fight a la Ron DeSantis. the fact of the matter is that Disney’s profits these days overwhelmingly come from their Experiences division (theme parks, cruises, and merchandise) - not the TV networks like in years past. The MAGA crowd make up a large part of the Experiences consumer base and Disney is terrified of alienating This segment of their fanbase. When TV was the driver Disney could shrug off such concerns because people would still be subscribed to a cable package, even if they “boycotted” Disney channels Disney got paid either way. Not the case anymore in today’s landscape.

Puck’s Matt Belloni says that abc has no plans to pull the Kimmel hosted Millionaire
-
Kimmel is also the host of Millionaire. How ABC handles that May give us insight into what happens next

CBSAtlanta.net now redirects to an Atlanta landing page on cbsnews.com cbsatlanta.com continues to redirect to Atlantanewsfirst.com

I think it was Matt Belloni at Puck that pointed out Lorne Michaels is a producer on both Tonight show and Late Night…he still has a lot of power at NBC. I wouldn’t be surprised if NBC wanted to axe Late Night but Lorne pulled some strings and got it renewed with a reduced budget. Wasn’t Seth pulling in lower ratings than After Midnight? And after Midnight was canceled.

Fun fact. when CBS O&O’s started rolling out the “CBScityname” websites in the 2010s they couldn’t register cbsatlanta.com since it belonged to WGCL…as such WUPA ended up with the domain CBSAtlanta.net, which still redirects to their current website

WXIA had (has?? Not sure if still there) the same thing at Hartsfield-Jackson in Atlanta…it was funny that they continued to use the 90s era 11Alive logo and never updated the signage to the current red logo -
A reminder for folks when it comes to cbs buying stations. 1. their finances aren’t exactly in the best shape right now. Buying a non appreciating asset like a broadcast station would not be a smart move financially 2. The current administration has a vendetta against Paramount. Even if cbs wanted to it’s likely to be held up by regulators for petty reasons
-
Yeah. CBS is going to do the same thing in Seattle and Tampa. They could in theory but Kiro since Cox is for sale, but I doubt CBS would be willing to spend the money to buy it.
-
Keep in mind Apollo wants someone to buy the entire thing, not a piecemeal sale…that means the buyer will need to be willing to take the radio stations as well
