  2. on top the the FSN channels dish is also having a dispute with the FX and National Geographic channels https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/dish-faces-multiple-outages-carriage-contracts-disney-fox-sports-1203274496/
  3. Interestingly enough WPCH is not affected by the Dish-Meredith dispute. Parents have Dish and currently still get WPCH More disputes on the way - this time between Dish/Sling and Fox Sports Net https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/sling-tv-dish-may-soon-drop-regional-fox-sports-network/
  4. former WGCL meteorologist Paul Ossmann is suing the station for “racially and ethnically discriminatory termination" https://www.ajc.com/blog/radiotvtalk/meteorologist-paul-ossmann-sues-cbs46-for-racially-and-ethnically-discriminatory-termination/r7Hz7bSKoafKhoysC5SZLP/
  5. Well that was sudden and unexpected. Given WGCL's history it's hard to say whether this is just the typical WGCL revolving door or if he did something bad.
  6. I don 't know what to tell you. I'm on the site right now and it's the new look
  7. KLAS has the new website (same name unfortunately) KTVX and WCIA still have the old site, but have dropped the stupid nexstar names.
  8. Megyn Kelly never belonged on morning tv. She was a cable news attack dog known for her confrontational style and opinion. She never would have been welcomed by NBC News or MSNBC viewers due to her FNC baggage. If she wanted out of the FNC toxic culture so badly she should have gone to CNN. Her style would have been better received and she could have shed the Fox News bagged like Alisyn Camerota has. Heck she probably would have been a perfect Nancy Grace replacement at HLN.
  9. the new yorker has published a long profile of the company and the Smith family https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/10/22/the-growth-of-sinclairs-conservative-media-empire
  10. Marcinkiewicz looks like a lost school girl in some dark Kansas City alley.
  11. Looks like they were trying to carry over that edgy early 90s Fox feel to NBC, to disastrous effect Here is their open just one year earlier for comparison
  12. Atlanta's secondary PBS station WPBA has reacted an agreement with PBS to become a full service PBS station, allowing it to better compete against GPB's WGTV. Until now WPBA could only air 25% of PBS content. https://www.ajc.com/blog/radiotvtalk/public-broadcasting-atlanta-channel-becoming-full-service-pbs-station-competing-more-directly-with-gpb-channel/ZglSeCnx0vJtnhHlrlim5J/
  13. While we're on the topic of WGCL I've noticed that they've ditched their "Local. Real. Everywhere" slogan that they debuted with new graphics last fall. It is no longer used in opens and it's not mentioned at all in promos. I noticed this back in April, don't know if it was ditched earlier than that.
  14. The issue is that if they expand GMA to 9am then that hurts corporate cousin "Live w/Kelly and Ryan".
  15. Could we see CBS return to KDLH and NBC return to WISE once the deal is done ?
  16. I'm fine paying for it if it's reasonable. Washington Post's Amazon Prime discount makes it worth it in my opinion. But $35 a month? I can buy an online service like YouTubeTV for that amount. That is way too much.
  17. Changes at Bloomberg. They are instituting a metered paywall on their website. If you want unlimited website access you must pay $35 a month!! That's more than the WSJ and NYT combined; and costs the same as some cable packages. Plus they are limiting you to only 30 minutes of free BloombergTV streaming (unless of course you pay) https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-05-02/tesla-projects-end-to-cash-burning-era-as-model-3-gains-traction
  18. If Nexstar wants to buy another fish may I suggest Morris. Nexstar would be a HUGE improvement for those stations.
  19. Consolidation for consolidations sake is how local tv will end up like radio. Controlled by a few penny pinching companies with huge piles of debt
