  1. I’d bet money that CNN Centers days are numbered. They already sold the property to a developer. Over time they’ll probably move any remaining cnn productions to the techwood drive property. Besides CNN International’s version of CNN Newsroom what shows air anchored in Atlanta anymore? https://apnews.com/article/ga-state-wire-fl-state-wire-atlanta-florida-health-c7e1f0b9f85ecb1203f4fa727701c3ac
  2. Cox is now in dispute with dish https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/cox-stations-dropped-from-dish
  3. I agree. I’ve never liked stations that use their “news brand” as an overall station brand (looking at you WFTS) I'm also not really sold on the name “Atlanta news first” - to me it seems too much like their failed clear news branding from 20 years ago.
  4. Wcia’s studio flooded https://www.wcia.com/news/local-news/an-inch-from-off-air-rapid-rain-floods-wcia/
  5. showing off the New mic flags
  6. WGCL made announcement on their website https://www.cbs46.com/2022/08/31/atlanta-news-first-coming-north-georgia/ I like how they claim they are the only locally owned station in the market (throwing shade at wsb and Cox)
  7. WXIA’s Chief investigator Brendan Keefe has left the station to be the Chief investigator for WGCL. Non compete will keep him off Wgcl until April
  8. Rachel Aragon has left WBFF to join WGCL
  9. Wtvc was unable to air morning news due to widespread Covid outbreak
  10. You were right. New anchor at Fox29 WXIA's lifestyle show was 1.5 hours for awhile
  11. Brian Williams is a free agent if CNN wants him as a replacement for Cuomo
  12. Seems widespread https://therecord.media/sinclair-tv-stations-disrupted-across-the-us-in-apparent-ransomware-attack/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
  13. It's official WZDX and WATN have switched. Interestingly they retain their Nexstar web domains. localmemphis.com and rocketcitynow.com
  14. Spurs open is the exact same as the Heat open. Again giving more credence to my suspicion that this is going to be the generic open for all sports coverage regardless of team and sport
  15. There's also nothing special about the graphics tied to either the team or the sport. There is nothing in the open showing the Heat logo and you see the words "baseball", "hockey", and "basketball" displayed; along with things like a baseball diamond, a basketball court, and a what appears to be hockey rink faceoff circles.......this leads me to suspect that this is the generic open and theme to be used for all teams and sports. Which, if correct, is a major downgrade from the NBA, MLB, and NHL themes FSN used and also much blander than the custom team opens that FSN used as well
  16. Robin Reed celebrates 40 years at WDBJ https://www.wdbj7.com/2021/03/13/robin-reed-honored-with-day-in-roanoke-as-he-starts-40th-year-at-wdbj7/
  17. Kinda weird to be leaving a powerhouse like WSB for spectrum news.
  18. Ad agencies drink too much of their own kool aid.
  19. Whenever I watch cbs46 (which isn't that often) I have to ask myself: "who are these people"? The turnover at the station is ridiculous. Meredith never gives the station management or talent time to implement a new strategy and let it grow. It's a constant cycle of rebrands and talent/management turnover. After years of Gannett/Tegna mismanaging WXIA, WGCL should be in a place to compete. But instead Meredith's impatience has led to no real significant gains in the ratings.
  20. WALB has been Gray-ified
  21. Dish is in another dispute, this time with NBC Sports Chicago (no other NBC RSN are affected at this time)
  22. WJAX is in a dispute with Dish https://www.actionnewsjax.com/news/attention-wjax-dish-satellite-subscribers/953052585
  23. God that's awful
  24. on top the the FSN channels dish is also having a dispute with the FX and National Geographic channels https://variety.com/2019/tv/news/dish-faces-multiple-outages-carriage-contracts-disney-fox-sports-1203274496/
