  1. That's true but Nexstar is improving and all it needed was the Media General purchase for it to transform the company
  2. I think it's a mix of both TEGNA having ties to KTTU/KMSB and the fact that Raycom operates it. It's an indicator that KMSB/KTTU is a Raycom station, for the most part while KOLD is a TEGNA station, for the most part
  3. It seems as if Media General bought Nexstar and not the other way around because if you notice not only did the former MG stations retain their websites but the executives of Media General (and LIN before Media General acquired LIN) has taken over Nexstar. I actually think that Nexstar has changed for the better post-Media General merger and I hope the existing Nexstar stations (including the legacy stations) do away with "localhomepage.net"
  4. Isn't KB is a Journal station turned into a Scripps station?
  5. And the same can be said about the iGen people, but I like to get local news on Television (at a convienient time) and get Sports News/Highlights on CBS Sports HQ instead of ESPN plus national news on CBSN instead of Fox News, CNN and MSNBC
  6. Which does makes sense because that's what Scripps is trying to do is get the younger viewers watching their shows and their content (Which I'm glad Scripps is at least trying even though it may be "cheap")
  7. KJRH, KSHB, KERO, WFTX, WMAR and WKBW all don't air The Now
  8. Exactly, but the problem was that Scripps didn't give them the option when they should have
  9. So only the former Journal stations getting the 30 minute version of "The Now"? What happened to the rest of the former Journal stations? At least WTMJ/WGBA did a great job when it comes to the graphics Also I don't think KTNV will ever get "The Now" and if they did it'll only last a few months before "The Now" goes nationwide
  10. What kind of people Scripps is hiring for the national version of "The Now"?
  11. Promo for Geraldo seen on then-KTVY (now known as KFOR) in 1990
  12. Those stations should have been given the option to turn it down because even the stations themselves knew that these shows wasn't going to ratings winners in the first place, I think Scripps gave the stations no choice but to air those shows and it damaged their overall ratings for their local newscasts
  13. That's so sad, may he rest in peace and my thoughts and prayers go out to his family
  14. Pickler and Ben needs to go to CMT only then if that's the case
  15. And the same can be said about Pickler and Ben because despite getting renewed for a 2nd season, it's getting low ratings (with the exception of Nashville where the show originates from)
  16. I think Cox either realized that Fox was going to buy up Fox stations and they were probably looking at buying back WFXT or they're about to cash out on it's properties (radio, papers and broadcasting) this can be discussed in the Speculation thread. Anyways, it looks like that Telemundo's WWIS is adding a 6am and a 12pm newscast which is set to debut on Monday, April 2nd http://www.tvnewscheck.com/article/111898/telemundos-wwsi-adding-two-newscasts
  17. Sounds like KTTV must've brought Scott Chapin back (they've been using Beau Weaver for the last few years as the stations announcer)
