  1. Shouldn't the discussion related to Family News Anchors be it's own thread? If so then we can start it and the admins can split the discussion off of this thread onto the appropriate thread
  2. Now all we have to do is add Katelyn in the picture and you would have 3-4 generations of the Ogles in TV News in Oklahoma City (from Jack to the Ogle Brothers to Abigail and now Katelyn) I didn't know Lett is related to a member of the Ogle family
  3. Don't forget about the Barry's in OKC (Bob Sr. and Jr.) even though both did Sports both were a father-son sports anchoring team until Bob Sr. retired in 2008
  4. The Ogle Family is about to go back to having 2 members of the family appearing on weekday morning newscasts, FTVLive is reporting that Katelyn Ogle, the younger daughter of current KFOR weeknight anchor Kevin Ogle will join KWTV as the station's Alert Desk anchor/producer in the mornings with current Alert Desk anchor/producer Ali Brooks getting promoted to weekday evenings http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2018/5/5/another-ogle-in-okc
  5. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Z1LXiEfb6-8;t=377 Back when KOKH was using the controversial Sinclair News Central format
  6. Could KFOR had chosen to decline the request to air the ad and if so what would be the consequences from the FCC for not airing the ad?
  7. Then that's where Maury should go (which is 4pm serving as a lead-in to the News With A Twist @ 5:00)
  8. Unless WGNO wants to expand the News With A Twist format to 5pm, yes
  9. Only if WGNO had the option not to air World News Tonight maybe they'd be able to replace that and the 5pm newscast with Maury
  10. Why would WSMV/WNEM ruin the O&O looks like that? I mean the graphics looks good but the fonts on BOTH stations looks terrible imo
  11. KFOR just announced a new partnership with Air Comfort Solutions (which has former KWTV Chief Meteorologist Gary England in the promos), it's now branded as "Air Comfort Solutions Chopper 4" http://kfor.com/2018/04/09/chopper-4-is-vital-to-covering-oklahoma-storms-new-partnership-between-kfor-air-comfort-solutions-announced/
  12. And that's too bad because people that have dropped cable deserves better than that. I think the only time WTTG/WBFF will pick up games involving either the Nationals, Orioles or the combination of the two is if one or both teams appear on Fox's Baseball Night in America other than that, that'll be the only time Antenna/Streaming-only viewers will be able to watch either the Nationals, Orioles, or both.
  13. WKYC (1997 after the Cleveland Indians lost in 7 Games to the Florida Marlins) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=0XT3ROA-3jg;t=259
  14. We'll see what happens with the 2nd reason but I think it may very well be the 1st one and that the KOMO News Director caved into Sinclair's demands
  15. Some more KFOR clips, this time from 1993, Linda Cavanaugh providing a News Update
  16. I got to see some clips of the Turko Files via YouTube of KUSI's newscasts and it was pretty entertaining... To say the least
  17. Which is good because neither one of those Nexstar website names makes any sense, so I think that's one of the changes that we've seen out of Nexstar post-MG merger but still got a long way to go but, it's baby steps that we're taking
  18. Sounds like Sinclair put someone at the former Fisher stations in charge and decided "we need to air the must runs during the evening newscasts instead of the overnights"
  19. I had a friend of mine on Facebook who happens to live not too far from Grand Rapids (not saying his name though) showed me the new WOOD TV website and it looks pretty nice for a Nexstar. Thankfully, WOOD didn't drop "woodtv.com" for "westmichigan.com" "westmichiganlocal.com" (however Nexstar names their websites)
  20. CBS North Carolina never really sounded right anyway because it was just too bland (this was the branding WNCN should've went to when they switched to CBS in 2015)
  21. Essentially WNCN just copied the WSPA logo
  22. Yikes! Hope the driver is alright
  23. So basically KTEN is hiring a Meteorologist who will ultimately suceed Mitchell as their Chief Meteorologist if I'm reading correctly
  24. I wonder if Alan Mitchell retired? That may be why KTEN has an opening for the Chief Meteorologist job
  25. It's a good question and I would venture out and say yes but let's wait and see what WKYC and WJW does (especially WJW) before I can give you a straight answer (besides that any discussion about the other Cleveland-area stations can be discussed elsewhere)
