  1. Media General decided to bring in the leadership team over from LIN (which has since carried over to Nexstar)
  2. Here's the deal with Nexstar: Yes the Media General merger and its influence has made an impact on Nexstar (and I fully expect the Tribune acquisition to be the same for Nexstar) and they will be better post-Tribune than they were post-Media General, now do I think Nexstar is wayyyy better? No I don't and here's why: Nexstar is still making some of the same mistakes that they've been doing before the Media General acquisition (i.e WHTM using the old bug) but this is like that with any other group you look at. Every group you look at no matter how big or small you will find flaws in each and every broadcast group you run into.
  3. I sure hope this outcome happens and quite frankly, that's all Sinclair has to do in order to get back into the good graces of the FCC. It's not that difficult whatsoever.
  4. Sinclair won't likely go that far (and besides I don't think it'll sit well with the FCC)
  5. Sinclair has two very simple choices to make: Option A: They come to their senses, admit they did, in fact, mislead the FCC about the divestiture proceedings in the Tribune acquisition; Sinclair might be able to get back into the FCC's good graces . Option B: Continue to claim that they "didn't" mislead the FCC, and eventually, Sinclair will have to face the possibility of either selling the stations they/'re renewing the licenses for or face possible termination of the licenses. Just based off of the options being made (and what Sinclair continues to say regarding the failed Tribune acquisition) I think, Option B is more likely than Option A.
  6. Outside of maybe Sports but I don't think any professional sports team outside of maybe the bigger markets (i.e Chicago, NYC, LA, Boston, Miami) will be willing to deal with Sinclair's antics. On the sports-related question, do you think Disney is willing to deal with Sinclair with regards to the 21 former Fox RSNs? And how would the DOJ feel about Sinclair (potentially) purchasing those 21 FSNs? As for the broadcast side of things, it's safe to say that Sinclair clearly wants to go down the RKO General path, and they've done a good job at it but, ultimately, that's what will lead to an eventual breakup (and knowing Sinclair's stance on the abandoned Tribune acquisition and the claims that they "did not" misled the FCC) it's not going to be a pretty one.
  7. Any further updates on the situation at WCBI?
  8. After what all Ansin went through with NBC nearly 30 years apart, I actually can't blame him for doing something like that. We'll probably never know what the Ansin's did to the management at NBC that caused the network to turn their backs on the Ansin's in both Miami and Boston but as we've seen with WSVN and now with WHDH they have survived not being affiliated with one of the big three networks and will continue to do so in the years to come
  9. Clearly, Warner Wolf is up to no good
  10. All Jeopardy! Contestants must meet eligibility requirements to win cash or prizes and any portion of the program that does not affect the outcome of the competition will be edited for broadcast purposes

  11. mhmmm... Something tells me that Scripps is seriously looking at forming a duopoly in Denver with KMGH and KCDO
  12. KCCI News Open with.... you guessed it, Image News
  13. If they do upload it onto their YouTube channel please post it on here if at all possible. I have autism myself and as Georgie said Aspies does rule
  14. So he's heading up US-169 to join WDAF. Wishing him nothing but the best of luck in his future endevors
  15. Obviously, KDKA does NOT like the Patriots
  16. That's rather interesting, even though I don't live stream newscasts. Still, that's rather interesting
  17. What kind of mic flags is WOOD using?
  18. That's a huge concern if I were in charge of the Peacock network moving forward when the NFL and NHL contracts come up for renewal within the next few years, and if they were to lose out on the NFL and NHL I wouldn't be surprised and I wouldn't be surprised if they kept the NFL/NHL either. Still, it's a huge concern without question. They got that from ESPN; that layout doesn't match with the current ticker layout, just my opinion
  19. There's also some good College Basketball and NBA action going on this MLK weekend too
  20. I hope to see some more never-seen-before KCNC opens from around the NBC-to-CBS transition to the present. What Trevor Trail was able to pull off from the 80s to 1994 is amazing
  21. I hope you get to do an update the KCNC News Opens compilations T.L Hughes made soon Also, did Bob Palmer stopped anchoring the 10pm news sometime in Early 1993? I noticed that he and Bill Stuart was anchoring coverage of the 1992 Presidential Election about 9 minutes into the video
  22. I can hear the Announcers of KCNC during the late 80s and even through around the time Bob Palmer retired saying these lines right now: "From KCNC-TV, Colorado's News Channel" "It's time for News 4, and you're with Colorado's News Channel." And even towards the last day as the NBC affiliate and during the Early-CBS years "You're on News 4, Colorado's News Channel"
  23. I'll private message you the screenshot of the issue
  24. Also note that for Denver, Nexstar is also in the process of acquiring KWGN/KDVR (even though yes, they DO have a bureau for the existing Colorado stations)
  25. Is there a way to link our Discord servers with our TVNT accounts without having to leave the Discord server? I had to leave the server twice just so I could get mine linked? Because some of us in here have been a member of the Discord server prior to the update. Thanks
