  1. Weird. Something smells and I don't like it. Just saying.
  2. It probably hasn't been updated elsewhere yet but as @ColtFromGulfcoast said it was on the TV Guide grid so KTBS/KPXJ must've entered their 8am newscast into the system without telling us anything about it. Anyway, it was about time that KPXJ's morning newscast expanded to 2 hours.
  3. I would like to know this, what is it about AT&T (DIRECTV) getting involved with these carriage disputes? These disputes aren't happening by accident, there has got to be a reason why we've been so many carriage disputes involving (and if I were a betting man I say the majority of those that we've seen this year are involving AT&T/DIRECTV)
  4. While that statement may be true however the way I look at it, all of the stuff going on at WBNS (including what happened today with Mike Davis) is starting to catch up to 10TV. Don't be surprised if WSYX overtakes 10TV's ratings spot in additional time slots moving forward.
  5. Also there are several schools that still have contracts with FSN that Sinclair inherited from Fox and Disney (the Oklahoma Sooners is among that group) so it would be interesting to see how Sinclair handles that
  6. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the Fox Regional Sports Networks that Sinc;lair recently bought eventually get involved with the production of NFL preseason telecasts similar to how NBC Sports Washington is involved in producing Redskins preseason telecasts with WRC (i.e Fox Sports Ohio taking over some production responsibilities of the Bengals preseason telecasts from WKRC)
  7. Sunshine Network branding returning to replace Fox Sports Sun isn't out of the realm of possibility here, I think we might see Sinclair use some unique branding like perhapse HSE, and PASS Right now what Sinclair is doing with the rebranding of the FSNs is right now in secret they probably won't tell us much of anything untile new name(s) are announced and we'll have a better idea of what exactly Sinclair will rebrand the RSNs to. Right now it's just speculation at this point Although I might add that Sinclair did file a trademark application for use of the "Diamond Sports Network" branding. I can't get the image of the trademark up for y'all to see at the moment but what I can tell you it was filled back in May about 2 weeks after Sinclair announced the acquisition of the RSNs
  8. It is behind the paywall indeed. I get it, newspapers have to make money somewhere but there are people that would like to read articles online without having to pay for it.
  9. In this instance FS1 is using the Cardinals Fox Sports Midwest broadcast team for the Rockies/Cardinals game tonight (P.S. Go Cardinals) The fact that the RSNs are STILL integrated into Fox Sports that it'll take awhile for Sinclair to integrate the RSNs into Stadium and the local stations (if they're co-owned with the local stations)
  10. Not really because I noticed that FSN as recent as this week stop promoting the FS1 shows such as Undisputed and Speak For Yourself. I think there was some form of a transitional agreement between Fox and Disney when the DOJ ordered Disney to sell the FSNs where FSN would continue to promote the FS1 shows for a certain period of time until the sale was completed, and now that the sale has been signed, sealed, and delivered the FSNs are no longer obligated to continue to promote shows or sporting events seen on Fox, FS1, and FS2.
  11. I looked earlier through Section 3.09 earlier, couldn't find it. It may have been removed so that no one could find out exactly how long Sinclair has to keep the Fox Sports name or it's in there I may have overlooked it. EDIT: I found an article from WKYC as provided here https://www.wkyc.com/article/entertainment/television/sinclair-broadcast-group-purchases-fox-regional-sports-networks-including-sportstime-ohio-fox-sports-ohio/95-9a377f0e-ed08-4b50-a2b0-a96cd1221a3d here's what part of that article says
  12. It has to be in one of the sections where it talks about the licensing then but it's in there somewhere unless it got redacted at some point
  13. Section 3.09(a) it might be Section 3.09(b) but all I can tell you is that it's in Section 3.09 that I quoted from earlier
  14. Section 3.09, link is in the post above Spring Rubber's post
  15. The link that @broadcastfan9751 posted above
  16. I don't know if this answers your question or not but this is from Section 3.09. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but, it looks as if that Sinclair will have to use the Fox Sports name on the RSNs for at least 3 years
  17. With Meredith perhaps becoming a buyer, I think Tegna is more likely for Apollo
  18. Unless you're living in the Jacksonville DMA which would be a good thing to be a mess since both companies have monopolized the market
  19. Once you cross the Red River it becomes more of a Native American demographic than anything else because Oklahoma before it joined the Union in 1907 as the 46th State it was known as Indian Territory. Most of the Hispanic population in our state is on the South side of Oklahoma City along the I-240 corridor otherwise, once you go out of the major cities in Oklahoma, the Hispanic population drops off quite a bit
  20. I see a mix of Tegna and Raycom (Gray) influence in it. Looks pretty good
  21. When you think of Texas you only think of a few major cities that are close to the Mexican border (i.e. El Paso, San Antonio, etc.) as having the higher latino population whereas places like Dallas it wasn't really until a few years ago if not, a little bit futher back than that, we noticed an uptick in terms of population. Also this is a market where for DECADES it was dominated by WFAA and KDFW, the Spanish language stations in the area didn't really become a factor until DFW experienced the increase in Latinos moving to the area
  22. That answers my question, I knew that the other major markets that you mentioned the latino population is growing but DFW? I might call this a HUGE win for Telemundo and it probably wouldn't surprise me if Telemundo wins more markets as the latino population groiws and major Spanish language networks like Telemundo and Univision are going to benefit from this increase
  23. My bad @Samantha disregard every I said earlier then.
  24. What makes you think I was putting down Telemundo? Nowhere in my post was I putting down Telemundo or Univision it's good for them that they're winning my issue was what made people in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex perfer to watch a 4pm newscast in Spanish than in English? What did the 4 major DFW Engloish language stations do wrong that propelled Telelmundo to 1st place?
  25. Yes you do because in Soccer if you watch the match in Spanish, you need context and understanding of how they use terms in Spanish and be able to translate it into English, it's just like watching TV News in Spanish so therefore it does make sense
