  1. Happy to help, I'm actually not that surprised to see Tribune influence at Scripps (it's fitting considering that Scripps did buy the conflicts in the Tribune-Nexstar deal)
  2. Given the direction the NFL might be taking when the current TV contract expires that actually does make sense for Fox to have an actual NFL package rather than just a package tailor made for the NFC
  3. Out of the 3 that you mentioned I'm actually partial towards the YES package being used on the other FSNs, we'll just have to wait and see what Sinclair decides to do. Beyond that there is precedent to former Fox owned RSNs hanging on to the Fox package long past the retirement date (e.g. FSN Northwest, Pittsburgh and Rocky Mountain all kept the 2008 FSN package even after those RSNs became Root Sports) so it's possible that Sinclair may rebrand the RSNs in the Spring and wait until the Fall and then roll out the new package.
  4. I suspect that at least through April the Sinclair RSNs would probably need the outgoing Fox package. I suspect that the Sinclair RSNs will roll out a new graphics package on a template based on the Marquee Sports Network graphics, I'm not sure if the FSNs will indeed use that template but that is certainly a possibility here.
  5. We have yet another Tegna station dumping a traditional newscast (sigh..) KTVB has officially launched "The 208" in the 5pm timeslot and it's meant to take a conversational approach to the news of the day https://www.ktvb.com/article/news/local/208/ktvb-new-show-208-brian-holmes-idaho-news-smart-honest-perspective/277-3403d71b-5f5c-4c67-8b1f-021fd2f2d750 I'm not entirely sure what the 208 is referred to since I'm not from the area but all I will say is it's either going to work the way KUSA's "Next" has worked or it's going to be an epic disaster.
  6. My thinking is that NBC would only add that fifth hour of Today if Sony ends production of Days of Our Lives because there's no way NBC takes away the 11am or 12pm slots from the affiliates (and certainly not the 2pm or 3pm slots either)
  7. Given that Sinclair hasn't revealed anything as far as rebranding plans are concerned right now it looks like it'll be Sinclair keeping Stadium and the FSNs seperate (unless things change between now and Opening Day for Major League Baseball.
  8. Sadly (at least the Noon newscast) they used the awful cuts of C Clarity. Not sure what they were using at 4pm but that's what I saw when I went to playback today's Noon newscast. They're using the same cuts that they used for Noon at both 4pm and 5pm.
  9. KFSM now has the Tegna weather graphics. Not sure if they fully debut the Tegna graphics today but here it is https://twitter.com/5NEWSGarrett/status/1222234909655420934?s=20
  10. I shared this on Discord and I'm sharing this on here. https://www.si.com/johnwallstreet/sports-business/diamond-sports-rebrand Right now, I wouldn't be too concerned about Sinclair's future (I would be a little bit) but, if say we go into this Fall and the upcoming NHL/NBA season and we still don't have concrete plans from Sinclair about the RSNs that would be when questions need to be asked about what's going on. I know it was rumored about Fox Sports Florida/Sun being rebranding a few months back, they said the rebrand would take place over the next few months but that hasn't happened either as of yet.
  11. No what I was referring to is @MidwestTV's post that's above mine back on Page 113 in this thread. As far as I've seen so far WTHR has not fully debuted the Tegna graphics and C Clarity.. Yet.
  12. I have a question (and someone maybe can answer this one for me): Is the graphics seen on WTHR actually a refresh of the 2018 graphics or no? Something tells me that Tegna might be doing a refresh on their graphics and there would be no way that we'd be seeing the how-to guide being rolled out to the Tegna stations. Obviously someone will have to fill me in on that as I don't have inside info as to what's going on at Tegna.
  13. That was LONG overdue at KGUN. Btw, was there any particular reason why KGUN never adopted the previous Scripps package after the Scripps/Journal merger happened?
  14. And besides both KXXV and WTXL carried over the First Alert Weather branding from the Raycom era. That and WPTV does news for WFLX (owned by Gray which brought Raycom and have been spreading the First Alert Weather branding to the legacy Gray stations)
  15. Meanwhile here's the WFLX news open with the new graphics. All I'm gonna say is what in the name of frankfurt is the WFLX logo?
  16. That's an interesting question, I'm curious to know why Stephen Arnold couldn't incorporate the NBC chimes into the new music myself
  17. Here are the 2 videos that @ScottSchell is referring to
  18. What kind of animations is WPTV using in the Open? Those in particular are completely different compared to what other Scripps stations that have adopted this new look have done.
  19. And The whole discussion about Standard/Tegna needs to be split into it's own thread (if the mods are even paying attention)
  20. Calling it now, Tegna will buy Cox in a 3 way merger between those 2 and Standard Media at some point either this year, next year or later on in the 2020s.
  21. Sorry to say fellas but Tegna is just as big of a bully as what Mr. Kim is. Is Mr. Kim a bully in this, yes I think he is. But at the same time, we have to look at both sides of the issue here.
  22. So Standard General as part of their response to Tegna that I shared Yesterday this one here expands on what was originally reported that @tyrannical bastard shared last week. They have filed with the SEC a Schedule 14A, as recently as Thursday and according to that report it mentions names like Stephen Usher, David Glazek, and Michael Perrone as names of those that are part of the proxy fight to take over Tegna I think Soo brought more than just a crew he brought an ARMY of those that are willing to join Kim in the fight to takeover Tegna, this is getting more and more interesting as I'm reading these articles related to Standard/Tegna.
  23. Ok. So assuming Kim get's his way at the end he would have a little wriggle room to make at least one big acquisition (maybe even 2 big acquisitions)
