  1. They could certainly do that or once CBS starts rolling out the localized versions of CBSN beyond the O&Os, WFMY restores the 7am hour at that point when they launch their own version of CBSN. I know CBS hasn't said they'll roll out the localized CBSN's to groups like Tegna but it would make sense for CBS to do that.
  2. And see that's where the bad part comes in for WFMY, they don't have a duopoly partner to be able to continue the 7am newscast and I think this is where WFMY will likely lose some of the viewers in the morning to stations like WGHP and WXII/WCWG
  3. This one here is as @TheRolyPoly described it on his blog is historic a quote from the article So this is significant in a sense that this will now leave Griffin's KOTV as the only CBS affiliate in the country to run CBS This Morning out of pattern. I imagine this has to have been part of the new affiliation agreement between CBS and Tegna and apparently like what CBS did to Gray's WTOC, essentially told WFMY to run CTM in pattern, which is a shame.
  4. Meanwhile in Orlando, WESH 2 is going to start doing a simulcast of the 10pm newscast on Estella TV Orlando, and they already simulcast the 5pm newscast with WESH itself. https://www.orlandosentinel.com/entertainment/tv-guy/os-et-wesh-10-pm-news-estrella-simulcast-20191126-exocykg6tvhdzgawqaixvkljda-story.html#nt=oft-Triple Chain~Feed-Driven Flex Feature~section-a~story-b~~1~yes-art~automated~curatedpage
  5. Absolutely and somewhat to this day they still do with it's newer graphics package that has since carried over to KOTV as well
  6. I'm gonna say the template KFOR had in the old building for their set may have lasted for nearly THREE decades AND it survived 4 different ownerships (Palmer, New York Times, Local TV, Tribune) among other things. Oh and it survived through 2 tornadoes (June 1998, May 2003)
  7. I'd have to read the article but if I had to take an educated guess it looks as if WATL is shifting MyNetworkTV programming to 11pm-1am
  8. Actually there is two of them that use Image News not only was that used for the Noon newscast but it was also used for their morning newscast as seen here
  9. Sorry if I bump a stagnant thread but.. As promised by Sinclair CEO Chris Ripley during the last earnings call, John Wall Street repoted on Friday that Sinclair is indeed going to increase it's stake in Stadium. Right now details at this point are limited as far as how much stake Sinclair will have in Stadium but this has to be a HUGE boost for not just Sinclair and Stadium itself but for the RSNs as well which makes sense given that Ripley has hinted about leveraging more Stadium content on the RSNs outside of the pre and post game shows. The announcement on those should come within the next week or so (possibly either the day after thanksgiving or next week) stay tuned.
  10. KOCO (June 1994) featuring the Gannett Deathstar from the 5 News era
  11. I think we might need to speculate over in the speculatron thread because I have a bunch of questions related to this
  12. Sounds similar to the arraingement Local TV and Tribune had only on an even smaller scale
  13. Wait a minute... Did I just read correctly that Gray owns a partial stake in Sarkes Tarzian?
  14. Also since there is overlap in the coverage area of Northeast Alabama where DeKab and Jackson Counties in AL are officially assigned to Huntsville but can also pick up the Chattanooga stations both OTA as well as on Cable systems in that part of Northeast Alabama
  15. Most likely KFDX (and the other Nexstar stations throughout the Lone Star State) carry the original report from KXAN (Austin) and I imagine when they're covering issues affecting Oklahoma they'll use KFOR (same for KNWA, KSNF/KODE, KTAL and KAMR since their markets cover portions of Oklahoma)
  16. I think KFDX must've collaborated with KFOR to cover the shooting at the Walmart in Duncan which KFOR DID send a reporter to Duncan (Stephens County, which is assigned to the Wichita Falls-Lawton DMA) and then perhaps the KFOR reporter filed the report for KFDX
  17. Nexstar will probably leave KFOR alone for the most part. If they can leave stations like WFLA, WOOD and WAVY well enough alone, they should be able to leave KFOR well enough alone as well.
  18. That in itself was the most interesting part about Nexstar buying KRBK
  19. Not only as an overflow newscast for KRBK but also maybe perhaps as an overflow newscast for KOLR in the event a CBS Sports telecast ran long as well. I think Nexstar made the right call with the regulations the FCC had in place at the time to pull off a triopoly by acquiring KRBK
  20. Now that I think about it maybe perhaps KOZL reruns KRBK's 6:30pm newscast in case KRBK airs a Fox Sports telecast that runs into the 9pm newscast they can just simply air the newscast on KOZL
  21. Either that or have KOZL do a 7pm newscast and shift MNT to 8-10pm that I'm sure would solve that problem
  22. I was looking at both KOZL's and KRBK's schedules and you are correct about KRBK being weeknights only. As for KOZL they replay KRBK's 6:30pm newscast every weeknight at 9
  23. Is KOLR STILL doing the 9pm news for KOZL even though they litterally compete against KRBK's own efforts at 9pm?
  24. Not neccesaily, both KWTV and KOTV have their own chopper but they will often times collaborate especially on a big severe weather day (Prime example would be May 20th of this year where litterally the entire storm chasing staff of KOTV including Osage SkyNews 6) came to my side of the state to cover what was supposed to be a big severe weather event but (fortunately) never materialized
