  1. I'll go ahead and rename my existing speculatron thread on the former Fox RSNs. Please feel free to post in there
  2. Also, you'd have programming via Stadium and potentially the Tennis Channel that could air on the RSNs we should hear more about it today if not, by next week but this saga of the whole Fox RSN sale process is about to be totally done with (it would be up to Delhrim to decide he'll allow Sinclair to run the RSNs alongside the TV stations or not)
  3. Hence why they've likely teamed up with Apollo (so far). They are aware of the debt they'll be taking on (as is Liberty Media) the only bidder that isn't aware of the debt load is Ice Cube because they want to add on more debt if they were successful with their bid
  4. And with quite a few of the Fox RSNs such as Southwest that emphasizes High School Sports coverage, I think Sinclair might actually do a decent job with running the RSNs. Disagree if you wish but they're the only company that I can name off that's in the running for this thing that can actually do a decent job at running the RSNs I think Stadium SportsNet would work or how about bringing back the Prime Network branding (or SportsChannel for that matter). I think the DOJ shouldn't have an issue with Sinclair running the RSNs in places where they also operate TV stations (especially given that Fox operated the RSNs alongside their O&Os) but given DOJ's behavior since Delhrim took over you never know what the DOJ might rule
  5. I don't think they'll bring back ASN if anything Sinclair might convert the networks to "Stadium Sports Net" or something like that, and besides isn't there a clause that says that the RSNs have to keep the Fox name, etc. for a certain amount of time like there is in Mexico and Brazil?
  6. Is it fair to say that Sinclair's strength is in Sports or are they just weak in all areas?
  7. Basically, KFMB would've still been sold off it'd just been delayed. So I'm sure she was glad to have sold KFMB off when she did because that could've been a mess at the FCC
  8. Did Media General make its stations use names like centralohiomatters.com or some crap like that? No they did not. Each group makes mistakes there human just like anyone of us here are, even you and I make our own mistakes too. Nobody's perfect, not even the best TV groups with well-run management are perfect either.
  9. Yes it does. Because without the Media General merger Nexstar would still be making the same mistakes they made pre-MG
  10. I wonder why Scripps hasn't fired the KGUN management team? I guess the KGUN management team hasn't given Scripps a legitimate reason to fire them
  11. Media General decided to bring in the leadership team over from LIN (which has since carried over to Nexstar)
  12. Here's the deal with Nexstar: Yes the Media General merger and its influence has made an impact on Nexstar (and I fully expect the Tribune acquisition to be the same for Nexstar) and they will be better post-Tribune than they were post-Media General, now do I think Nexstar is wayyyy better? No I don't and here's why: Nexstar is still making some of the same mistakes that they've been doing before the Media General acquisition (i.e WHTM using the old bug) but this is like that with any other group you look at. Every group you look at no matter how big or small you will find flaws in each and every broadcast group you run into.
  13. I sure hope this outcome happens and quite frankly, that's all Sinclair has to do in order to get back into the good graces of the FCC. It's not that difficult whatsoever.
  14. Sinclair won't likely go that far (and besides I don't think it'll sit well with the FCC)
  15. Sinclair has two very simple choices to make: Option A: They come to their senses, admit they did, in fact, mislead the FCC about the divestiture proceedings in the Tribune acquisition; Sinclair might be able to get back into the FCC's good graces . Option B: Continue to claim that they "didn't" mislead the FCC, and eventually, Sinclair will have to face the possibility of either selling the stations they/'re renewing the licenses for or face possible termination of the licenses. Just based off of the options being made (and what Sinclair continues to say regarding the failed Tribune acquisition) I think, Option B is more likely than Option A.
  16. Outside of maybe Sports but I don't think any professional sports team outside of maybe the bigger markets (i.e Chicago, NYC, LA, Boston, Miami) will be willing to deal with Sinclair's antics. On the sports-related question, do you think Disney is willing to deal with Sinclair with regards to the 21 former Fox RSNs? And how would the DOJ feel about Sinclair (potentially) purchasing those 21 FSNs? As for the broadcast side of things, it's safe to say that Sinclair clearly wants to go down the RKO General path, and they've done a good job at it but, ultimately, that's what will lead to an eventual breakup (and knowing Sinclair's stance on the abandoned Tribune acquisition and the claims that they "did not" misled the FCC) it's not going to be a pretty one.
  17. Any further updates on the situation at WCBI?
  18. After what all Ansin went through with NBC nearly 30 years apart, I actually can't blame him for doing something like that. We'll probably never know what the Ansin's did to the management at NBC that caused the network to turn their backs on the Ansin's in both Miami and Boston but as we've seen with WSVN and now with WHDH they have survived not being affiliated with one of the big three networks and will continue to do so in the years to come
  19. Clearly, Warner Wolf is up to no good
  20. All Jeopardy! Contestants must meet eligibility requirements to win cash or prizes and any portion of the program that does not affect the outcome of the competition will be edited for broadcast purposes

  21. mhmmm... Something tells me that Scripps is seriously looking at forming a duopoly in Denver with KMGH and KCDO
  22. KCCI News Open with.... you guessed it, Image News
  23. If they do upload it onto their YouTube channel please post it on here if at all possible. I have autism myself and as Georgie said Aspies does rule
  24. So he's heading up US-169 to join WDAF. Wishing him nothing but the best of luck in his future endevors
  25. Obviously, KDKA does NOT like the Patriots
