LOOK WHO THEY LET OUT OF THE BASEMENT!
Hey, Joel! It’s been awhile! Where ya been?

Anthony Ponce is coming back inside from the car, going head-to-head with his big brother. No word on where that leaves that other lady, who's so memorable that I can't think of her name.

I saw Anthony make appearances on Morning Dose, too.

A WFAA intern was among those killed in the helicopter crash in NYC.
Here’s his intern newscast:

One thing I’ve noticed with TEGNA is not afraid to send their reporters on long stories. Mike Valerio of WUSA was on a 24 hour flight to Tarawa, a remote pacific island, on bringing buried WWII soldiers home. It’s not his first trip there either. I think he’s made two others. Apparently he’s their chief International investigative journalist.
NBCUniversal and TEGNA sent reporters to Pyeongchang, South Korea recently. It’s not unusual for stations to send reporters on overseas assignments.

Airing a 24/7 stream of Stadium or airing selected games at times?
24/7 stream.
-
Apparently KTXD became a Stadium affiliate this week.

Former WFAA investigative reporter Brett Shipp lost his primary last night.

Yeah, I agree with you about WNT. There's a lot to criticize about the current era of GMA.

Ouch. I’m sure 32 or 26 will pick her up. Hope she finds new work soon.

Don't judge me, but what the hell is Channel 2 doing with their top met spot? As hard as it was to bid adieu to Steve Baskerville, at least I was reassured they'd be rotating fill-ins until a permanent replacement was named. Instead, Mary Kay Kleist has shifted to weeknights (every single weeknight) and newcomer Robb Ellis fills-in for Mary Kay on weekends.
Now don't get wrong, I know Mary Kay is beyond qualified and has put in her time and is deserving of the top spot. But so is Ed Curran and even Megan Glaros. It's just that Mary Kay lacks any appeal beyond what she offers on paper. Of course I don't want just another weather bunny, all I'm asking for is some personality, which I know Channel 2 detests. So I guess Mary Kay is very safe in that department.
But I just don't get it. Ed is an asset to the station. And Megan is more than just a bunny. All I can hope is that Channel 2 has something up their sleeve and is just biding their time until they can make the move they really want to make. Like singing Mike Caplan (when is his contract up?). Or AMY FREEZE please! Chicago loved her, and she's been stuck on weekend mornings in NY forever. Come on back!
Ed has paid his dues and he deserves the chief meteorologist spot. Not to knock Mary Kay or anything, but Ed just has....it.

When is KMSB severing the umbilical cord with KOLD and getting its own newscasts?
Not until Raycom gives TEGNA full control of the station.

Everyone rejoice!

The new and improved WGN Sports!
They’ll probably use DIN in the graphics.

WFAA in 2000. A real blast from the past. Also this is one of my favorite graphics packages they had (they still had it when we moved from Chicago to Dallas when I was 6 years old).

WFAA had the old website layout earlier this morning.
Oh, you're talking about on desktops. On mobile, they've had the new layout. My bad.

Why are we all saying WFAA had it this morning? They've had it for a few months now.

The 'Sports Briefs' are officially going commando...

It's not Sports Briefs without the briefs.

Sickening. Just....why? Why do people do this? Monster.

It seems like there might be something in the works at WGN’s graphics department, too.

Looks like a one-off to me.

Looks like it’s going to be a version of the KABC/KGO graphics.

When I saw Lester do the newscast out in that cold weather in Minnesota, I said how stupid it was for them to put him out there in the cold.He went to South Korea which was bitterly cold, then up have high elevation of being in the mountain and when you add, travel and jet lag it is now a mess. You don't put your top anchor out in no cold air to air a newscast.
This is one of the reasons why I don't like NBC and how they handle their talent. They overwork them, when you work and travel it brings down your immune system and a reason where there needs to be more bureaus to accomodate NBC News reporters. If they can't do that then use O&O affiliates as a source of reporting from fields or breaking news.
Boo-hoo. If you can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

After reporting on the flu emergency every newscast, the flu snake finally bites him. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

Looks like somebody was watching Anthony Ponce.

Does it make a difference? It’s the same show with the same episode no matter what station it airs on.
