  1. More KTVX from 1991, this time a promo for their public affairs segements with the instrumental of Nowhere Else playing over it:
  2. That's the latest use I've ever seen of any station using And You! Then again, this is the same station who is still living in 2009 graphics-wise! Heres more of that newscast, including a bumper at the end using "Say Hello": The very beginning of Great News Package on WKYC:
  3. Charlie VanDyke narrates WRGB's 60th anniversary special from 1988. Sad to see that such an important station is now just another jewel in Sinclair's crown!
  4. A rare newsbrief from WSLS during their brief period as "TV 10 Eyewitness News":
  5. WKBN from May 1988, still using NewScore:
  6. I know you were upset last year that none of the OKC stations were investing in newscasts or newer syndicated shows, so let me give you my 2 cents on it. Outside of the city, the rest of the market is mainly rural small towns, which probably don't need stations with KTLA or WJW style amounts of newscasts. Keep that in mind if you still don't get what you want this season.

I mean was I suggesting that they go a la LA or New York or something like that? Probably not because Oklahoma City is way too small to do a newscast lineup in that format but at the same token it's a shame that it has to take Nexstar entering Oklahoma City for the status quo to change and even then it might not be enough so, it is what it is but imo OKC acts more like it's in the 60s in the DMA rankings than they are in the 40s

  7. A complete WMAZ 6pm newscast from Christmas Eve 1986, as well as the CBS Evening News from that night: Now lets move west to Columbus for WTVM's Action 9 News Late Report from March 20, 1987:
  8. I swear I've seen this WABI newscast (or at least the open) online before: Also, take a look behind the scenes at one of my favorite TV stations back in 1982:
  9. Some commercials from ABC's airings of the Amerika mini-series, taped off WOLO in Columbia. There are news updates with Centerpiece by Soundtrack Music as the theme, back then they had just a 6pm newscast, the 11pm slot was filled by Threes Company reruns with a weather update.
  10. Some stations just need the extra money when they exceed their budgets. BTW, how much does the average paid program pay out to a local station?
  11. You all better sit down for this one, I just found the full 1 minute version of WFLA/WXFL's The Spirit of Tampa Bay song! And on a tape of mine too! And @Info Junkie, since this is such a huge find, I give you full permission to upload this onto your channel.
  12. Don't forget that KRLR 21 started out as an all music videos channel (known as Vusic 21) before beocming a traditional indie a year after sign-on. BTW, does anyone know the piece of music heard on the station ID at 1:36 of my KBLR video? I've heard in many promos, including for Fox's first airing of the Emmys.
  13. No, it was all that was left at the end of a recording.
  14. An airing of the Jimmy Stewart movie Made For Each Other from November 1989, what makes this rare is that it was taped off KBLR 39, back when it was a movie oriented English independent, and includes commercials and station ID:
  15. The last segment of the late night replay of a WTSP 11pm newscast from 1985, followed by the sign-off itself, read by longtime Tampa radio personality Roger P. Schulman: FYI, I'm FB friends with the guy who gave the tape of this to @WFTV Channel 9!
  16. Easy one, that's News 80's by VTS Productions, which was known for years on the NMSA as the WLOX 1989 News Theme.
  17. Here's a full WTOV newscast from November 1989. I've never heard this cut of The One To Watch before!
  18. WLFL didn't have news in 1982 (and wouldn't for many years), but they did use TNI&NI+ for promos:
  19. It took well over a year. but bigOplabax finally uploaded some retro KPTM material, this one from about two months into their existance, with lots TVbD graphics (when the company was in their prime!):
  20. A rerun of a later CBS episode of Captain Kangaroo which originally aired Christams Eve 1983, it begins with a KTSP sign on:
  21. Lots of KDKA promos (many new to YT, including the full Renaissance 2 promo!) dating back to the 1980's, beginning with a raw news open:
  22. I'm staying with my aunt and uncle on Anna Maria Island right now, and it should be noted that WWSB never switched to the last Raycom package and is STILL using the graphics they had under its last years with Calkins! I would assume Gray will soon replace it with one of their packages?
  23. A real gold mine! Dave Johnson has uploaded several newscasts from his time as anchor at KZTV in Corpus Christi during the early/mid 1990s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQp94vvk4KY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3W6tctQEFvs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdCCLwrjAuw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMstXuHEeTw https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABuSnOSlYKc After KZTV, Dave was 5pm anchor for KGBT, heres a newscast from September 19, 1997 (which followed Jeopardy's 3000th episode, fun fact, NONE of the RGV's TV stations carried Wheel of Fortune back then, not even newsless KVEO!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ruqW4K8M2jo And the intro to that nights CBS Evening News, as well as the 10pm newscast: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q0ryGr-Tq4
  24. A full KXAN 10pm newscast from March 15, 1990, as taken from the 1am rebroadcast. Unfortunately, the sign-off wasn't on the tape, the recording cut off during a community affairs segment called COPS (how long do you think that tiltle lasted for before getting sued by the show?):
  25. Nice way of distancing them selves from MyZombieTV while still maintainging the MyXX name. I'd expected them to bring back the old Q58 name they had during their UPN and early WB days.
