  1. An almost complete (missing intro) edition of KTVU's The 10'OClock News from June 28, 1985:
  2. Been awhile since I posted the maximum 5 videos onto here! At last, we know where WJKS's 70's theme came from, in a ABC Evening News promo! And also in here is an NBC jingle which I think hasn't seen the light of day in over 45 years!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=pMIgmNUwlTw;t=29 WANE's version of the NewsChannel campaign: Two closes from two consequitve KNXV 6pm newscasts, just before they became ABC: And the opening to WIVB's News 4 Update from May 25, 1989:
  3. Finally I get the chance to post something here again! I've been trying to jump in, but all the videos I've wanted to submit were taken by others! Anyways, here's the intro to the ABC Saturday News (not to be confused with the ABC Weekend News which aired on stations after their late news or before sign-off) from May 20, 1978, taped off KVUE in Austin:
  4. A news update from LA 11, that's KTTV, from July 4, 1982 with Tuesday1: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=M4tQ4RqJPRY;m=2;s=13
  5. Somebody phone the NMSA, WDSU used Look For Us in 1980:
  6. Thailand's channel 7 introduces their news in 1990 with a mish-mash of various American graphics and WXIA's Standard & Tradition theme:
  7. That was previously uploaded by Ken back in March of 2014, but without commercials. A full 30 second version of WOI-TV's Keeping You in Touch jingle (sounds like it came from TM Productions). but with 5TV replaced by Channel 5: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=NoWlB4MBGxg;m=3;s=53
  8. I'm surprised we're not really sharing Brazil clips, what with their SBT doing Brazillian versions of US network graphics and campaigns.
  9. And as we all know, Ike was at the transmitter building when WTVJ moved from 4 to 6 on September 10, 1995:
  10. I guess I should've expected it came from them, here is that theme in use at JLA from 1985: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=dHAi5cPpdNI;m=2;s=37 I wound assume WCIV must have used a similar open as well. Also worth noting is that WCIV back then used the same "On Your Side" logo that WJLA had back then.
  11. I now present this WCIV news update from September 1985, using what I think is an already identified theme (Tuesday?). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Xf2hzlWgvg0;m=14;s=55
  12. 36 years ago today, WSAV and WJCL swapped network affiliations, only to reverse said swap 3 years later after NBC turned everything around. In the days leading to the switch, WJCL blacked out ABC promos in favor of this graphic promoting the upcoming switch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=mdtQ7A125Zs;m=2;s=1
  13. Yet another recording of WNEW-TV's sign off routine, this time from mid April 1984:
  14. Well darn. Sinclair said that if they got the Tribune stations, they would've expanded Morning Dose and possibly NewsFix to some of it's stations not carrying local news or Kids Click.
  15. Here's something cool, I have that exact same broadcast, which in this case is the NBC miniseries The 60's, on tape also from WTMJ! An almost complete KARK 5pm newscast from August of 2002, right after they moved into their current studios:
  16. When did you do it? I must not have seen it. But I know how much you hate when people post things you already did, so I'll delete if you want.
  17. I was about to post that KARK newscast, you beat me to it. And on that WJCL clip, the reason there was only a 5pm newscast mentioned because JCL didn't have late news back then (they carried Married with Children reruns at 11pm). The original Ellis/EQ Vance open to WUPW's 10pm news, were they possible the first non Hearst station to use Image News? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=Z-T1Q_bqfYA;m=1;s=10
  18. Even RT America is more of a news channel than CNN is!
  19. Blame the internet.
  20. Amen to that Eat News. I think CNN realizes that people don't watch TV for news anymore, they get it all from the internet. That's why they've basically become MSNBC 2. So don't blame Jeff Zucker for CNN's downward spiral, blame progress.
  21. All I can say is, boy what a dump channel 69 was back then! We can all be thankful that Channel 46 caved in and let CBS make them their new affiliate. BTW, Channel 69's potential purchase by and affiliation with CBS went as far as having them running CBS' daytime shows (CBS This Morning, Price is Right and the soaps) in the weeks leading up to the switch (WAGA had already pre-empted them for an expanded morning news and talk shows).
  22. I know it was announced a month ago, but I think STIRR is a ridiculous name. Is it an acronym for something? I would also assume the entertainment shows and movies will be coming from MGM like Comet & Charge.
  23. Now Ken Owen has videos for every major Indiana market, he just uploaded some clips from Evansville:
  24. I fugured that WSYX almost became "Fox 6 On Your Side", as back in 1994/5 WTTE dropped Fox from their branding and went by TV-28 in preperation of becoming the new ABC affiliate had WSYX switched. The end of the KNBC Weekend Newservice and an NBC News Special on the "Saturday Night Massacre": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JBkUtvYlEH4
  25. You should give credit to NewsActive3 if this came from one of his videos. Can someone ask this guy to upload complete newscasts?
